"The casita is a tasteful, comfortable space that served us very well. The open living room has an exquisite fireplace in the corner that, on the chill evenings, was a delight to dine beside and enjoy a quiet, romantic evening. The kitchen is "muy Mexicano", user friendly and fully equipped. A small but complete bathroom lies off the kitchen, filled with thoughtful touches of art and function. The bedroom (s) are comfortable and clean. We chose to occupy the "optional" extra bedroom with it's lovely view out over the valley and were able to hear owls at night and lovely song birds and doves during the day. The grounds of the complex are beautifully maintained and designed. The small community consists of 3 major dwellings along the ridge, with extensive views out over the valley. The swimming pool is shared and also of tasteful design. We were able to access the laundry room beside the casita, which was very useful indeed. Finally, we found the owner and managers to be friendly, supportive and highly responsive to any needs or cares that came up for us. Highly recommended."

"This beautiful art house is even more lovely in person than in the photos. Its located in a residential neighborhood with a great view of north Oaxaca and the surrounding mountains. You feel like you are immediately part of artistic Oaxaca since the apartment is decorated with all types of local art. There are lots of windows that allow light in the common areas. Along one side of the house are two sets of sliding glass doors that lead to the large patio, where you can spend hours lounging at the table or in the hammocks. The spectacular view of the valley, the hills, the rooftops, and the mix of trees really sets the tone for the space. You can take in even more of the view from the beautifully designed rooftop patio.
The home comfortably fits 5 people. My friends and I stayed for a week and enjoyed gathering in the multiple common areas, including the beautifully tiled kitchen. We loved the variety of art that fills the house and covet the elaborately carved shelves and painted dinnerware. You notice new details of different pieces each day. Plus, the tap water in the home is drinkable!
You can't have a view without being on a hill. Its about a 15 minute walk to the historic city center, El Centro. The walk is along a historic street with cobbles stones passing the Los Arquitos making it enjoyable despite having to go uphill to reach home. This was not a bad thing especially if you're planning to try and eat every delicacy that Oaxaca has to offer. It was well worth it.
We met many friendly people in Oaxaca. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, and everywhere there was a general tone of calmness and groundedness. We learned something about its indigenous cultures from being there during the annual Guelaguetza, and without a doubt this is a big part of what makes Oaxaca a very special place.
We plan to return without a doubt!"

"We three sisters stayed here for one month. The rooms, baths, and living areas are spacious and comfortable. The pool is convenient with beautiful design and views. Oaxaca can be accessed by public transportation, taxi, or car rental in 20-30 minutes. The village life is a welcome contrast to the noise and stimulation of the big city. Walking, hiking and enjoying the beautiful outdoors is a daily must. American neighbors are friendly and helpful, as are the native staff. We plan to return annually!"
