"We have rented this condo 5 times from the Flake's over the last 10 years and have never been disappointed. Our son was 9 on our first vacation and wouldn't miss out on a trip here, even at 19! This year our friends rented the condos on either side of us and we had a fantastic 10 days.
The staff are great from Augustin who manages everything to the maids and security guard Jose who will wake you at night if there are turtles hatching or laying.
We have eaten at every restaurant in Half Moon bay and Akumal and our favorite for breakfast is Turtle Bay Cafe, dinner La Lunita, Que Onda for pasta, La Cueva Del Pescador for fish, La Buena Vida for happy hour, LoHa for pizza and drinks on the beach. The best is Teresa's "hole in the wall" across the street from Playa Caribe, she made us Ceviche and fish tacos with the barracuda and Mahi Mahi we caught when we went fishing and it was fantastic.
We BBQ when we don't eat out and do our grocery shopping at the Chedraui in Puerto Morelos which is 30 mins drive towards Playa Del Carmen.
Over the years we have visited all the theme parks and this year went to XPLOR which was a lot of fun, get there early to do the Zip Lines first before the crowds arrive.
The snorkeling in Half Moon Bay is like swimming in an aquarium, we also love snorkeling in Akumal and watching the turtles feed off the grass on the sea bed.
Akumal town is within walking distance and very safe to walk at night. We always rent a car so we can travel to different beaches but it's not absolutely necessary.
Joyce Flack has been a wonderful resource over the years and given us so much advice and information on where to go and the rules and regulations when visiting Mexico.
We will be back and I'm sure our friends will be joining us again."

"Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo. Pictures and descriptions are accurate. Breanna is great at responding and providing information. Our 6-year old enjoyed all the toys available. The condo is very spacious, quiet and comfortable and had everything we needed. I won't add much to what the other review already mentioned but will add these tips that may be helpful:
-We found having a car to be much more convenient, especially with a young child
-the cave and zip lining at nearby Aktun Chen was fun and very safe for a young child
-the Chedraui supermarket in Tulum (on the Coba road towards Tulum beach) is the best supermarket we found and has most of the main bank ATMs inside (check which one is affiliated with your bank). The Super Chomak market in Akumal has a good Selection too.
-the La Buena Vida beach restaurant in Akumal on way to Yal-ku lagoon is a great place for lunch and dinner-great atmosphere
-pizzara Leo in the village of Chemuyil is great
-we enjoyed our visits to Akumal beach snorkeling for sea turtles, Coba ruins early and rented bikes to climb the pyramid, and a visit to the "cave" snorkeling at Grand Cenote just outside Tulum.
-if time allows make trips to snorkel at national reef park at Puerto Morelos for amazing coral and fish (we used Wetset Diving), chichen itza, and Ik-Kil cenote.
-the wifi connection through Oasis was fast and was $30 for 5 days"

"Casa La Via more than met our expectations, it was a gorgeous in every way possible! The house, pool, jungle surroundings...every ammeditie. It felt like we (my family and I) were in a paradise all to ourselves. This was the best way to spend my birthday! I was amongst such beauty and family! The staff took care of us all with a smile from the moment that we arrived, and continued to be of excellent service our entire stay! This was our first time at the house, but it will NOT be our last!"

"The condo is a lovely place to stay. The views are spectacular with Half Moon Bay right in front. It is well furnished (love the onyx table top) and the kitchen well equipped. Easy walking distance of several restaurants. Nice pool area with tables and umbrellas for shade. Can't say much about the beach because of bad weather, but with good weather it would be a great place to lay on the lounges and snorkel. All of the employees we dealt with were great. Much thanks to Patricia for cleaning up after us. Annie was easy to work with and answered all our questions. We'll look forward to staying in #5 again soon."
