Great property, highly recommend.
"Such a wonderful property. Expertly maintained by local staff, Gaby and Zulma. They were so welcoming and we had a fantastic time. The house has four bedrooms in the main house and a fifth bedroom in the "casita," a smaller house on the other side of the lap pool. It's a little walk in to town, but we enjoyed the fact that it was farther away from the main tourist strip. You must have Zulma cook for you at least one night. The property manager, Monica, did a great job of meeting us when we arrived and providing recommendations on local activities and restaurants. We've rented many houses over the years and this one was definitely impressive. Excellent experience - highly recommend. For food we recommend the little lunch counter at Que Onda, La Lunita, and La Buena Vida. All very close to the house."

"We stayed at Mike and Peggy's condo in Akumal from 12/27/14- 01/03/15. We have rented several times through VRBO and have always had great luck, but Peggy was the most thorough owner we have ever rented through. She provides such wonderful information, we really had a good idea of what we wanted to do and see before we even arrived. The snorkeling off the beach in half moon bay was incredible. My 14 year old son met another 14 year old from Sweden and they spent endless hours snorkeling the reef and playing in the pools. We went to Yal- Ku lagoon too, but we really didn't need to. My 12 year old love "hanging out" on the hammock by the pool. We snorkeled in Akumal Bay and saw numerous sea turtles. That was an amazing experience. The condo was beautiful and clean. There is a TV but only for videos, which was only an issue for my 12 year old who tends to like some down time out of the sun. There are so many great things to do in the area you don't need a TV. The condo is located at the far end of the road which is very bumpy and has lots of Topes (speed bumps) which was a little rough with our rental car but I liked the secluded/private spot. It felt very safe and the property management people and Silvia were extremely helpful and flexible with our schedules. The weather was beautiful and we hope to return to this little piece of heaven."

"I had visited the Akumal area quite a few years ago and have always wanted to return to this place of paradise . This was My first time staying at Casa Acacia and the house is located on the best spot at Akumal sur. The bay is protected by a reef and the waters are no deeper than 5 1/2 feet, which provides the most spectacular snorkeling experience I have ever had.
Hammocks to relax in and a sea kayak for your enjoyment. We were two couples with more room than we needed.
The roof top provided us with wonderful star gazing at night and gorgeous sunrises in the morning. Quite spot to listen to the sea and read a book.
The owners of the property are wonderful and easy going, the packet of information they send To find the home is spot on. We rented a car at the airport and drove it was easy. We stopped at the Chedraui in Playa del Carmen on our way for a big grocery shop. Everything you could possible need including beer, wine and liquor.
Doris and Abraham the housekeeper and grounds keeper are charming and helpful. Doris will cook for you her chile reños and Flan are delicious.
The home is a modest beach house nothing fancy the furniture is a bit tired. There is a downstairs kitchen that is great for keeping snacks and beverage for easy access from the pool and beach. The upstairs kitchen although small is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. Gas range, refrigerator , toaster , blender, etc.
Some day I hope to return thank you Pete for sharing this place .

"Our stay at this condo in Akumal was really great. Our group had a good time in spite of the untimely arrival of the seaweed. The beaches were beautiful. The condo worked perfectly for our 2 families. It was very clean, super tropical comfortable and the views were picturesque. The maid service was excellent also. The lagoon was our favorite. If you go, rent palapa #1. It has it's own private entrance to water and very roomy. The town is super cool. It felt like a little village, loved it. All the food we had was fantastic from tons of mexican, homemade pasta, and scrumptious pizza. We had Chef Daveed come cook one dinner. It was spectacular. We loved all the dishes and salsas.
The owners were great. My oldest was in Europe while we were in Akumal. I was worried about being able to be contacted for emergencies. She offered up her cell phone number for me to give out for emergencies. That way she could be contacted and get information to me. There is WiFi in house. It helped also.
Highly recommend going to Akumal Bay early in the morning (6am) to snorkel with turtles. You have to get there before other swimmers and boats. It was phenomenal. Then head over to Turtle Bay Cafe and grab some sticky buns and breakfast before they sell out. 8 am is too late! 😉
Snorkeling was great in Half Moon Bay . You need to swim out to reef. Saw some gorgeous fish, brilliant colors, octopus, etc.
Overall a great trip!"
