  • Relaxing and beautiful vacation home.

"We were an extended family of 7 with 2 young children and a teenager and Casa La Via accommodated us very comfortably. It's a beautiful and relaxing home. The owners take much pride in the care of the rental home with attention to detail. Any issues are addressed immediately (within the same day). With daily housekeeping and garden keeper, our vacation was very comfortable. We spent our days snorkeling with the sea turtles in Akumel and visiting beautiful white sand beaches. We spent a day exploring one of many underground Cenotes (Rio Secreto), about a 15 minute car ride away, then returned back to Casa La Via to relax by the pool with a BBQ. In my mid 40s, I have rented many vacation homes and Casa La Via ranks very highly on my list. The owners have taken much pride and effort to make this an enjoyable vacation for renters. With their extensive DVD movie collection, well documented sightseeing and rental operational manuals and much more, there was nothing lacking. Casa La Via is truly a 'home away from home'."

  • Deserves the name 'Paradise in Akumal'!

"First off, we wish we were still there! 10 days in the glorious Mexican sun was not enough! We thoroughly enjoyed our time. We arrived almost a day late due to flight issues and even though we got to La Bahia in the middle of the night we still received a warm welcome from the security guard on duty. I felt very safe with all the security around, which is important for me because we have a two and a four year old. The condo was perfect for us; the kitchen was equipped with all the modern amenities you would desire, the TV was put to use on the one rainy afternoon we encountered, and the bedrooms were spacious, have room to unpack, and the beds are very comfortable. Being right on the beach really made our stay relaxing! We would put the kids to bed and still enjoy the evening outside and have our morning coffee on the patio and watch the kids play in the sand, 5 feet away. The daily cleaning staff were wonderful; dishes done, beds made, garbage taken out and our water was refilled regularly. The beach itself was nice. We enjoyed going for walks around the bay but be careful with all the rocks if you want to go for a swim, water shoes are a must. The area is great, the condo is wonderful and we definitely recommend this if you are looking for a quiet, low key get away! Tim and Raeanne"

  • Amazing!

"We just stayed at Villa Gauguin for a week. I can't say enough how much we loved this villa. The house is absolutely immaculate, yet still comfortable and livable. The house is right on Yal Ku lagoon. The waters just in front of the house are fun for snorkeling. There is a fresh water river that flows right into the lagoon. This can cause some halocline and thermocline conditions in the water. This means that sometimes the water can appear "oily". This is just nature. If you dive down a foot or so, its super clear. The waters around the lagoon are pristine. We saw no trash, nothing but fish and coral. If you are into snorkeling, you will see parrot fish, sergeant majors, tangs, sea hares, sea slugs, an occasional eel, sting rays, eagle rays, turtles, etc. Snorkeling into the lagoon park is really fun. Lots of rock formations that are fun to swim around. I felt like an explorer. Getting into the water may require some planning. You need to be comfortable walking on a rough rocky surface. Bringing flip flops, rubber soled fin socks, or something like that will make it easier on your feet. There are 2 sets of stairs into the water. Its still not super easy to get in and out if you have mobility issues but with a little patience everyone in our group (ages 6-75) was able to get in and enjoy the waters. The pool is fantastic too. We spent most evenings in the pool just enjoying the view. Kids playing and adults relaxing. Francisco and Gladys keep the house so clean. They are very warm and friendly people. They both greeted us with a warm smile everyday. We had them cook for us 4 times. All I can say is wow! What a treat. The food was delicious. My favorite meal was the chili rellenos, but I can't complain about any of it. It was much lighter fare than I am used to in Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. Francisco and Gladys will keep to themselves to respect your privacy but we were grateful knowing they were there to keep the house in good shape and to keep things safe. The house has some great treats for little guys (or grown ups that forget they are grown up). There are iguanas out on the rocks. They will gladly share your fruit. You may also see tejons, pacas, turtles, and hermit crabs. Groceries in the area are also affordable. We went into the southern part of Playa for groceries. The stores can be a bit overwhelming but the prices were fine. To summarize, this place is AMAZING! We miss Villa Gauguin!"

  • Very nice Condo on Half Moon Bay

"This is a very nice condo with an unbelievable view of Half Moon Bay. The Condo is very nicely furnished, and has a master bedroom with bath and a second bedroom and bath. There is a large deck on the front of the condo and a deck off of each bedroom overlooking the pool and gardens in back. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. Bottled water is provided. Each bedroom and the living area have its own AC unit that is individually controlled. There is a nice sand "beach” in front with loungers, and palm trees and palapas for shade. The condo is very clean. The beds were comfortable, the linens are nice, and there were plenty of towels, including towels for the beach. There is a nice garden area in back around the pool. The condo has good Wi-Fi. There is a manager on duty from 8 to 8, and daily maid service. The building is located near the north side of the Bay close to the reef. The snorkeling is good with a good variety of fish life. We also saw two eagle rays one morning from the deck feeding in the shallows. It is rocky getting into the ocean. There is a lot of wildlife in the area. We saw agoutis, coati mundis, raccoons, many species of birds, and butterflies. The stairs to the third floor might be difficult for someone with a disability, heart problems, or breathing problems to navigate. Aileen, the owner, is very nice and helpful. She really wants her guests to enjoy their visit. She is available via e-mail to answer any questions before or during your stay. We stopped in Puerto Adventuras on the way from the airport to Akumal to purchase groceries, which saved a lot of money."
