Do I have to leave ?
"My third visit to Mexico ... but without a doubt, the best! Casa Cielo is situated in a secure neighborhood within easy commute of Cancun. The house itself is situated just steps from the beach and a refreshing blue pool. The garden offers plenty of privacy and a great mix of sun and shade. It didn't take long for our group to settle in and feel at home. There are plenty of windows throughout and soaring ceilings in the living area which make the space seem larger than the photos online. The furnishings were comfortable and I especially enjoyed the Mexican folk art throughout. We enjoyed several amazing meals prepared by staff there (don't pass up this opportunity), but also took advantage of some wonderful restaurants in nearby Akumal and Tulum. The house and garden were kept clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The owner was incredibly helpful in trip planning as was the house manager that is available once you check in. We were able to plan our own adventures without the nagging sales people you encounter at some of the all inclusive resorts. Upon recommendation, we finally visited Xel-Ha park and also had a wonderful pool side massage at the house. You really can enjoy yourselves without leaving the house. There are kayaks, hammocks, snorkel gear on site. My only complaint is that my schedule didn't allow me to stay longer!"

"Fun and relaxation again invited me back to Casa Palapa for another escape to a true beach house. Away from the old rat race with its distraction and stress. The day I arrived a sea turtle had laid eggs outside the few steps to the Caribbean sea. Casa Palapa is a true gem. I loved getting away from it all to relax, walk the beach, swim, snorkel and dive, deep sea fish, kayaking, and yes, leave Casa Palapa to involve myself with local attractions. The Tulum Mayan ruins suggested a beachside resort in its day. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the local town too. To the north in Playa Del Carmen, I traveled by ferry to Cozumel. I discovered fantastic drift dives with its vast and friendly marine life. If not living under water, the topside was enjoyable as well. Getting back to Casa Palapa, I cannot speak enough of the venue. My first fishing trip hooked a white marlin, though ended with a premature release. The marlin broke the surface just like television! The second fishing trip landed a four foot dolphin, Dorado, or Mahi…whatever you want to call it. It was delicious. The last trip caught a fat three foot barracuda and another Mahi. After nineteen days, it was tough to say adios to Casa Palapa, Peo the Casa Palapa manager, Norma and Ricardo the helpful house staff. Norma is such a sweet lady each and every time. The next visit will make twelve….I cannot wait to return."

"I stayed at this condo last year and just love how secluded it is and off the beaten path. You are only a few steps from the ocean and it has all the amenities you could possibly want for a stay. I was there for a week and you can walk to restaurants that are close by, Ya-Kul Lagoon which is 1 block away and the bird and animal watching early in the morning is phenomenal. Deb and Mike send you all the information you could possibly want to make your stay as easy as possible. The kitchen has everything you need and the refrigerator is a full size one. You can snorkel right in front of the condo building or walk around to the middle of Half-Moon Bay. You could get by without a car but it's nice to have it for those side trips. I so enjoyed the staff - Hector, Victor, Luis and Andrea were so very helpful. If you run out of items, the Corner store is a few blocks away."

"This place is loved by its owner and you can feel it the minute you get in the condo. The local art makes you feel in Mexico, yet you fell like home. The kids enjoyed the pools while we marvelled at the sunsets. What a view! Being located at the end of Half Moon Bay, there are no seaweeds in front of the condo and that's remarkable for Riviera Maya nowadays. The place is at walking distance from Laguna Yal-Ku, which we enjoyed very much. Hector and Ana took great care of us.
A nice surprise was Akumal itself : it's small, enjoyable, colourful and feels like a community. We even preferred it to Playa or Tulum. The snorkelling right in front of Akumal Beach (5 min ride from the condo) is very enjoyable: we've seen a dozen sea turtles, very big fishes and a couple of stingrays. Kids loved it so much we had to return 3 times during our one-week stay!
Thanks Martin for all your support and great advice. We will remember you and Akumal for a long time!"
