  • A Home Away from Home

    Sabina J.

"This studio is just the right size for two people. It is clean and bright, but most of all it has the best balcony and inside view. You get a covered, private balcony with view of the ocean and the lagoon. At night you can see the beach lit up with private candlelight dinners, cruiseships sailing past and during the day watch the activity. But by activity it is not 'busy' at all by my standards. The beach isn't littered with lots of boats and sellers of various goods and activities. You'll see some parasailing and jet skiis. Not a lot. The beach also is nice and quiet. By that I mean you can walk down the entire beach and not hear 20 different beach bars playing various party music. There is one club next door that plays music from time to time. However I went during the Mexican spring school holiday and there were only spanish tourists staying at Cancun Plaza and nearby. That started to change by the end of the week. So perhaps the atmosphere will change. I was very happy with having the airport transfers arranged for us. Especially when we landed. Oy! How confusing is it when you get out of the airport? Very. Everyone is trying to grab your luggage. I could firmly say "No. I have a Yellow Taxi" Then when we saw the sign with our names on it, it was a relief to have a reliable driver take us to the condo. Fran is very personable and helpful during the entire process of booking and during the stay. She even arranged to have my hubby's birthday celebration even more special! Thanks so much Fran:) The location of the condo was perfect for me. I do like nightlife like going to Coco Bongo, but I don't need to stay close to it. We hopped on and off the main bus constantly. It passes by all the time, and even in between stops the bus will honk at you to ask if you need them. Awesome! I enjoyed La Isla Mall the most and you can walk to it. Its only 4km or 3ish miles. Next to it is my favourite place for wine - La Europa, and next to that is a hidden gem La Fish Fritanga. It looks like a sidewalk take-away, yes it is. Just go down the stairs beside it and it leads you to the main restaurant situated on the beach. Inexpensive, simple food. Nice setting. Next to that is a cigar bar. You might not like cigars, but they also have a wonderful range of tequilas and best atmosphere. Its like stepping into Havana, Cuba. Tropical, old world, classy. Across the street from condo: '19.5km' (name of restaurant) best burgers ever! Huge! 'Navios' Restaurant for Romance."

  • Relaxing!

    Cindy

"When we landed in Cancun we had rented a car, that took almost 2 hours waiting for the car. I would suggest renting a taxi! The way they drive in Cancun is crazy, its like a free for all. We found the Villa, it was beautiful and so private and peacefull. Eduardo showed us the house and outside, he told us about several places to go. We went to the island one day the kids went snorkeling, held a shark, seen the historical side of the island. The water is beautiful. One day my husband and son went deep sea fishing. The Villa has everything you will need, privacy and relaxing! Brizia is a sweetheart, I could have taken her home! Thank Eduardo!"

  • No problems with any part of our vacation

    Donna T.

"Booking/checking-in/out: everything went smoothly. The apartment was fully equipped: pool towels, cooler, washer/dryer. Kitchen had all appliances - it was nice to have the thermos cups for morning coffee. The beach at this end is not the greatest, but the pool is beautiful. I felt safe leaving my teenage daughters at the pool. The pool food was good - just remember to take cash, they don't accept credit cards. The entire staff at the complex was very professional and friendly. We used the apartment as a base for day trips, so it met our needs very well. Went to Chichen Itza (pay for a tour guide - it makes it so much more informative). Stopped for lunch in Valladolid. Fun on Isla Mujeres - rent a golf cart. Go to the turtle farm - small but very interesting."

  • Great Vacation

    Karen M.

"We spent a week at Villas Marlin and had a great vacation. We spent most of our days at the beach and the swimming pools. Great surf, crystal clear water, and soft white sand beaches. Our 2 kids (age 6 & 4) loved the surf but they are on the more adventurous side and love the water. We were fine without a car. Did one big shopping trip at Walmart via the bus ( about 1/2 hour) on our first day and then picked up other grocery items almost on a daily basis in the grocery store in the mall literally right across the rear drive of Villas Marlin. Very convenient. We did a couple excursions during the week. A trip to Puerto Morelos ($25-$30 cab ride each way) to go snorkeling on protected coral reefs (the kids did great - 1st time snorkeling) and a day trip to Isla mujeres - rented a golf cart for the day to get around the island. A number of good local restaurants within walking distance and can take bus or cab to the busier hotel areas. Everything was very convenient. My only wish was that it was more walkable. Restaurants along a very busy road which made me a little nervous with little kids. But we got along fine. Overall a very good vacation and Unit 324 was very nice, comfortable, well maintained and updated with a great kitchen and a great view of the ocean, beach, and pools."
