  • Perfect for a large family all under one roof

"Our family rented the Bahia Azul home for 11 days in March ’14 and we were very satisfied with the experience. It exceeded our expectations. It was important that our family of nine could all stay under one roof, have space, privacy and serve congregate meals. It is very difficult to find large rental accommodations in Cancun that would meet these criteria. When available they were far beyond our budget. We also wanted a location that would not isolate us from the Mexican community. Get out of the hotel zone and one can see the economic challenges Mexico and Cancun face. We wanted our children to experience this. The home’s location provided this while at the same time, security The home is in a middle class diverse gated community of Mexican, Americans and Canadians. The five-bedrooms/five baths are located on three floors. The fourth floor is the very charming rooftop patio with a commanding view of the Cancun skyline and an ocean view at a greater distance. We did not rent a car and were very glad we did not. The home is located an easy 18 minute walk to the ferry service to Isla Mujeres. This was our choice for an exquisite beach experience and went there on three separate days. My wife and I took an $8 peso ($.60 US) city bus ride to the hotel zone for a beach day and was perhaps the quicker and less hassle decision over driving and parking a car. On the two occasions we went grocery shopping a bus ride got us to the Super Mercado and a cab ride transported us and multi bags of groceries back home. If renters aren’t interested in cooking their own meals the choices of walk able restaurants is limited and a car would be necessary. The car rental process in Mexico is frustrating and expensive. Cabs, tour buses and walking served all our needs well. We scheduled three adventure tours during our stay and the tour companies picked us up at the Sea Adventure Hotel two miles away. A $3 (US) cab ride brought us to the hotel. On the return trip the tour buses dropped us off three blocks from the Bahia Azul gate. Scott, the resident caretaker was most accommodating, detail oriented and helpful. Our family had for different arrival times and he arranged airport transport for all of us. All the communication between the owner, Michael, and Scott was timely, detailed and helpful. Trina, an American owner of Cancun Drive, provided excellent and reasonably priced airport shuttle service. The home has Wi-Fi service allowing for email."

  • Spacious, convenient and immaculately clean

"All VRBO owners should take note. This is how to manage your property. The owner was responsive from my first inquiry to my last notification before departure. He provided very detailed information about the property, the complex, transportation and the surrounding area. Another nice touch was his list of restaurants. The Villa was clean, organized, very spacious and fully equipped for my two week stay. The limited view from the den is far overshadowed by the wonderful pool areas that are maintained in an exemplary manner. Step from the pool area to the beach and that amazing turquoise water! The Villa is within walking distance to two malls, took the bus to downtown, and several restaurants are along the Blvd. The complex has a convenience store that is delightful and well stocked with daily necessities. Don't miss shopping there. Security was very evident at all times and the family atmosphere was delightful. Enjoy Cancun."

  • Quiet Perfection

"My friend and I stayed at Alvin's condo from Nov 8-11 and it was just perfect. I flew in from Canada, my friend from the States, and it was even better than we had imagined. It's a huge place, and just beautiful. Great for platonic friends or couples as the bedrooms are separated by the main living area. Kitchen had everything we needed ( I left a pair of scissors for those who are as scissor-crazed as I am:)), including spices and oils which made cooking easy. The grounds are easy to navigate, and the pools on the property are gorgeous. Really, really a quiet place (which is perfect for us) with resorts visible and within walking distance if you want to see some more people. This is a perfect place to just get away from it all, in a beautiful surrounding. Thank you so much Alvin and Ernesto- I will most definitely be back."

  • What a cook, what a view, what a great place!

"I will come back here again next year! Being so close to the beautiful beach and having someone to cook for me made this something very special to be remembered. My kids fell asleep every night be 8! That was great also!"
