"We spent a week at Villas Marlin and had a great vacation. We spent most of our days at the beach and the swimming pools. Great surf, crystal clear water, and soft white sand beaches. Our 2 kids (age 6 & 4) loved the surf but they are on the more adventurous side and love the water. We were fine without a car. Did one big shopping trip at Walmart via the bus ( about 1/2 hour) on our first day and then picked up other grocery items almost on a daily basis in the grocery store in the mall literally right across the rear drive of Villas Marlin. Very convenient. We did a couple excursions during the week. A trip to Puerto Morelos ($25-$30 cab ride each way) to go snorkeling on protected coral reefs (the kids did great - 1st time snorkeling) and a day trip to Isla mujeres - rented a golf cart for the day to get around the island. A number of good local restaurants within walking distance and can take bus or cab to the busier hotel areas. Everything was very convenient. My only wish was that it was more walkable. Restaurants along a very busy road which made me a little nervous with little kids. But we got along fine. Overall a very good vacation and Unit 324 was very nice, comfortable, well maintained and updated with a great kitchen and a great view of the ocean, beach, and pools."

"I had the pleasure to meet with Richard and Grace prior to my arrival on April 18th. These people are warm, genuine and willing to share a most beautiful experience, their wonderful condo in Cancun. Their place is impeccably decorated and kept unbelievably clean. I am a veteran of Cancun and have traveled much of the Yucatan peninsula over the last 10 years. Richard and Grace’s place by far has been my best experience.
The property is well appointed with on site restaurant, workout center, business center and spa. It was very comfortable for a family up to six. Security is quite visible and very friendly. A local management team handles any and all requests or issues. Local attractions have been mentioned in other reviews. However, a high end grocery store opened last November close to the complex. This provides another level of comfort when staying at a property with a very modern and well appointed kitchen.
As mentioned, I like to travel to the cities and beyond. I generally rent a car part of the time when visiting. The Bay View Grand location allows for the use of public transportation or just walking to local attractions.
A truly wonderful experience provided by two very special people. I do hope to visit again in the future."

"I want to preface my review, that my husband and I own 2 vacation rentals on the Big Island of Hawaii and I own my own Vacation Rental business and handle over 40 more condo rentals so I am stating that so that the Review I am about to give for this condo comes with 14 years of experience..When we arrived And were on our way to the condo we noticed it was quite a distance to town but arrived at the condo safely. Natalia met us and helped us to the condo with our bags, etc and showed us around. The condo was clean and has that Mexican Flare to it but that is kind of where it ended for us. We asked Natalia for some restaurant suggestions nearby as we wanted to walk to them and not have to take a Taxi as we did not rent a car. Her comment was I don't really know because I don't eat out as she is allergic to Fish. Then she said, one of my guests said they ate at a restaurant nearby, but she couldn't remember the name but she thought the name had the word "green" in it. We felt She still should have had suggestions. So that evening we started walking to find a restaurant and passed by the beach next to the condo and it was dirty and noticed a lot of "Locals" hang out there and there always seemed to have Policia (Police) standing by. Anyway we could not find any restaurant with the word green in it, None I would eat at anyway. But we came to a much Nicer Looking Restaurant called "Madingas" so we had dinner there and loved it. We ate there 4 times during our stay. The food is great, Margarita's were great. Service was great even though they speak very little English and I will say more about that later in this Review.
Now back to the condo: ANTS: As time wore on during our 2 week stay the condo is inhabited by "No see um or Sugar ants". They bite and they are everywhere. All over the counters, the table and they are outside the condo too. We went through and checked things out, the pots and: We went through and checked things out, the pots and pans need to be replaced as the Teflon is coming off and we did not want to ingest Teflon so we bought A fry pan on our first trip to Walmart. The utensils like spatulas, etc need to be replaced. But we made do with those items. We realize it is a vacation rental but even though we are on vacation we expect quality cookware and utensils. They were odds and ends of those items, nothing matched. We supply our rentals with top of the line, not bottom of the line of those items. Most Taxis don't speak English."

Great place to stay especially if you planning to visit Isla Mujeras!
"Great location: walking distance to the ferry to Isla Mujeras which was our reason to stay here. The condo was equipped with all the amenities but I did not know about the water situation: bottled water was provided. Wish that dish soap/ washing machine soap would have been provided since we did not bring any. If you are wine drinkers, buy some before you get into the condo: none in the local stores. Pool and Poolside food was good and one night they even delivered dinner to the condo!! Perk!! NOTE: if traveling to Mexico, suggest getting pesos as soon as you arrive as all restaurants and tourist events charge a lower exchange rate! Thanks Paul for all your help! deborah"
