Great time at Solymar Condos, Condo was wonderful.
"My husband and I booked this unit while staying in another condo in Feb. 2014. We had met a couple during our vacation and they were booked at Solymar for 2 months. They wanted us to join them. The owner was very easy to deal with, quick response. We took the unit with 2 beds. The pictures were spot on, no hidden surprises. The unit was well supplied with cooking utensils, plates, bowls, and glasses. Maid service was good during our stay. We met a lot of nice people and will be going back next year. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and the bus is easily accessible. The owner emailed us paperwork with lots of info about the property and surrounding area."

"We stayed at this condo over New Years for 5 days. We had arranged with Ernesto property manager to have a driver at the airport so we wasted no time at the airport. Ernesto had our groceries we asked for waiting and ready in the condo when we arrived. The condo itself is clean, beautiful and luxurious. My favorite activity was sitting on the balcony in the morning enjoying my fresh coffee and amazing views. Beach club is great. Private white sand beach was enjoyable. My daughter loved playing on the swings and slide in the front lawn. The rooftop pool is the thing that took my breath away. I have never seen such a beautiful sight. Everywhere you look is spectacular like a postcard. I spent my final hour at the condo up there wanting to remember it forever. Alvin was great to work with. I am returning in March and hopefully December. Thanks Alvin and Ernesto for a great vacation!!!"

"We thought this place seemed too good to be true when we saw the price. It is for real though! I have been to the Cancun area several times and this was by far my favorite visit. The area is central to everything, but so quiet and laid back. In March we didn't see any drunk college kids, which is pretty unusual in the Cancun area!
The condo itself is really nice, and the people there are very friendly. Natalia was so patient and helpful with all our questions. If you like the glamorous resort experience, this may not be your thing, but if you want an authentic experience in a wonderful neighborhood, this may be it. Great beach view, and the pools were very clean and nice. The grounds are immaculate and the workers there are helpful if you need anything from them. Great ventilation system in the condo meant we could leave the windows open and only used the AC one night.
We loved walking down to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres (gorgeous beaches there) and then stopping at one of the local restaurants to pick up dinner on the way home. The people in these restaurants are so friendly and pleasant. They look a little divey but be adventurous - their food is great and the prices cannot be beat.
We definitely plan to return to this place as it was an incredible value and a really wonderful experience!"

"We spent a week at Villas Marlin and had a great vacation. We spent most of our days at the beach and the swimming pools. Great surf, crystal clear water, and soft white sand beaches. Our 2 kids (age 6 & 4) loved the surf but they are on the more adventurous side and love the water. We were fine without a car. Did one big shopping trip at Walmart via the bus ( about 1/2 hour) on our first day and then picked up other grocery items almost on a daily basis in the grocery store in the mall literally right across the rear drive of Villas Marlin. Very convenient. We did a couple excursions during the week. A trip to Puerto Morelos ($25-$30 cab ride each way) to go snorkeling on protected coral reefs (the kids did great - 1st time snorkeling) and a day trip to Isla mujeres - rented a golf cart for the day to get around the island. A number of good local restaurants within walking distance and can take bus or cab to the busier hotel areas. Everything was very convenient. My only wish was that it was more walkable. Restaurants along a very busy road which made me a little nervous with little kids. But we got along fine. Overall a very good vacation and Unit 324 was very nice, comfortable, well maintained and updated with a great kitchen and a great view of the ocean, beach, and pools."
