"Found IslaMar on VRBO while looking for a place to stay for 3 weeks. Was very pleased to find the property was just as advertised. The staff was waiting for me on my arrival at the front door. The pool area is incredible and I enjoyed it very much during my time there. Hummingbirds frequently seen, and there is a local bakery close by, so the smell of fretted baked bread was often tempting me while at the pool. Sherri gave me the one bedroom condo upstairs and it again, was just as advertised. I found everything I needed and including the small touches such as the hammock. The apartment was immaculate! If there was anything missing, Zuri was there to help. This is living "local style" which is what I was looking for, away from the tourist areas. I spent time walking about the area and did not have any problems whatsoever. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist area. Taxis, if needed, are plentiful, affordable, and reliable. There are small, local places to eat close to IslaMar where the food is very good, and affordable. Sherri has a helpful guide book detailing all the good restaurants broken down by location and price. I was very pleased with the choice of Cozumel and IslaMar. Sherri, I will be back !"Guest: Jeremy Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 19, 2014View listing
"We all had a great time while visiting the island. 4 adults and one teenager. We really liked the layout of the casa, the kitchen and living room were completely separate and screened off from the bedrooms so some could visit while others could sleep. a great set up for familys or up to 3 couples. Fred and Andresita were wonderful to work with. I had a terrible time with the postal service delivering my money order but fred was very patient and reassuring that everything would be fine. (he was right) the casa was in a nice location right down the street from a place that serves great phillipino food with a slight mexican flare. there was also a little store at the end of the street if you were wanting a cervesa and dont feel like going to the store. A maid came by faithfully every day to tidy up the place. she was very sweet. Taxi cabs drive by frequently so if you dont feel like walking you can get one easily. My absolute favorite restaurant was chilangos on 30th for a small price you get an awesome authentic meal. my next favorite was casa mission also on 30th All & All we had a great stay. Enjoyed staying at casa mambo. would recomend it to families or couples. The gardens are very pretty around the front of the casa as well as around the swimming pool. Thanks so much Fred and Andresita for sharing your house with us! I will recomend it to my friends. Michelle"Guest: missy Date of Stay: January 2011 Review Submitted: February 6, 2011View listing
"We’re a family of 3 and stayed here in mid-June. It was our first time to Cozumel, but we’ve been to other Caribbean islands each year, and typically stayed in a non-commercial property. This one was the best of all. The location with a couple pools, your own stretch of beach, and pier access right next door were great. The condo itself was neat, clean, and spacious. It had everything we needed - large screen TV’s and good satilite reception (for the evenings or the occasional rainstorm), lots of cooking utensils and pans, and a place to park our rental car. It also felt secure. We’re a bit low-key and didn’t want the all-inclusive hotel experience that seems so common on the island. We enjoyed cooking for ourselves and relaxing. So, it gave us all we wanted at a fair price. We couln’t ask for anything better."Guest: happy traveller 1 Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 19, 2014View listing
