  • Batteries recharged!

"We have enjoyed Margaritaville on so many occasions now, it truly is like coming home. I think this year was the best time ever. We had some fairly calm days on the water and were able to use the body boards to ride the surf and play in the waves. We often hike the trail out to Punta Sur for a snack at Acantilado, but we also walk to many other places in La Gloria and along the bay side road. We have a golf cart most of the time, but prefer to walk when things are so close. The house is just delightful with all the comforts. The perfect place to recharge batteries and really get away from it all. Going into El Centro was quite a contrast with all the noise and traffic. It was so nice to come back to Margaritaville after negotiating all that. If you're looking for peace, solitude, oceans breezes, nature and complete relaxation, this is the place for you. We think this is absolutely the best property on Isla Mujeres. We're booked in for next year already."

  • debbndan from Pgh

"The penthouse was amazing. It was equipped with everything you need and the beds were comfortable. The best part of staying there were the beautiful views of the ocean and sunset. We stayed with another couple which was perfect as it has 2 full baths. The wraparound veranda was our favorite spot in the morning and evening. We hated to leave."

  • Views and breezes

"My husband and I spent a fabulous two weeks i September on Isla Mujeres, in lovely Casa Flamboyan. The views from all levels of the house are spectacular. I loved watching the sunrise from the back deck in the morning, then moving to the front verandah to read a book in the hammock overlooking the Bay. Afternoons we would relax by the pool and watch the pods of dolphins play just off shore. Evenings would start on the front verandah watching the sunset, and end on the back deck watching the full moon rise over the Caribbean, washing the ocean with sparkling light, and cruise ships glimmering on the horizon. The huge waves crashing on shore provided the perfect musical accompaniment. We fell asleep many nights watching and listening to the surf. The cross breezes were beautiful and we only turned on the AC at bedtime when it was time to close and lock the doors for the night. The pool area and back deck were always comfortable even on the hottest days due to the breezes. Just beautiful. The apartment itself (Azul) is cute, with a small kitchen and sitting room, a bedroom and bathroom with a window overlooking the ocean in the shower. Lots of storage, amazing natural lighting thanks to all the neat cutouts and skylights, and great night time lighting with dimmable lamps and pot lights. There were ceiling fans in the bedroom, living room and on the front verandah. Real is a bigger unit with a proper kitchen. Keep that in mind if you plan on cooking a lot. We like Azul for its privacy. We were so lucky that no one else was renting while we were there, and we had the entire property to ourselves. We spent a lot of time lounging on the many decks and patios, and swimming in the refreshing pool. We beach combed and walked a lot. Proximity to town is excellent, easily walkable along the malecon with its beautiful views and breezes. The colonias are also an easy walk away. Cabs are plentiful and all you had to do was stand in front of the house and one would pass by every minute or two. There is off street parking for your golf cart, as well. Lupe was in every couple of days to tidy up and change sheets and towels; she was very thorough yet unobtrusive. She was easily accessible should we require anything at all. All in all, we had a very nice time and would recommend this house to family and friends, and would stay there again ourselves."

  •'s that good!!!

"Our stay at Quinta Ixchel was Wonderful! We had stayed at Villa Rollandi the previous year, so the bar been raised pretty high...very hard to live up to. We were devastated to learn it had not only turned into a "all inclusive" (which we had come to avoid), but a Very pricey one as well. So, that's when we decided to do something we never had before and rent out a home instead. We weren't sure what to expect...we were wowed to say the least. After scouring the vrbo ads endlessly here's the reasons we chose Quinta Ixchel. It's located On Sac the ocean is calm and nice to swim in. The interior looked nice and modern. Private beach AND PRivate swimming pool...(what?!) being away from downtown and a gated property gave a peaceful atmosphere. Walkable, white sandy beach. Internet so we could FaceTime with the fam for free, and of course a beautiful view. Bonus features that we found after we were there...Gorgeous Views better than the pics show....on one side a pool large enough to actually swim in, and beyond that the beach and ocean....the other total glass side was the lush courtyard that is tended to daily by Poli and Gladys. A bar b q grill, that we did use, dish for tv, so although you don't watch too much tv, if you want to you have more than 2 English channels. Games, books, movies, iron, hairdryer., filtered water, spices...if you can think of it...Dave and Katy already have! Dave, by the another great perk! He stays in the bigger house about 4 months of the year, he gave great suggestions on where to eat and things to do and see. He always seemed to slip out early to give total privacy...which he didn't need to do because he is an incredibly nice guy...and we feel we have made a forever friend! We definitely hope to stay there again. The only thing we could think of is while the rest of the real world was in blizzard was 75-85 degrees on our trip, and very windy. This place was way more sheltered than the rest of the island....but the pool was still cold! (Not Dave's fault...but he's thought of that too. He said possible future plans for a solar panel for optional pool heating...that would be awesome!) All in all...couldn't have asked for more! Thanks again, Dave and Katy!"
