"We had a truly great vacation. Great location - Paseo Del Sol is located across the street from the Reef Club and the beach and you can walk to downtown Playa del Carmen. The property is well maintained and has a beautiful pool. Very quiet and restful. The 24/7 security is friendly and helpful. We rented a car for going into Playa del Carmen and traveling to nearby sites like the lagoon at Akumal (great snorkeling and not expensive).
We also went to Tulum about 45 minutes south to see the Mayan ruins near the beach. Very cool.
The weather was perfect - low 70's to mid -upper 80's every day. Very important if you want to escape the cold Spring weather of Chicago.
All of the appliances worked well and the condo was well appointed and very spacious - could easily accommodate 6+ people. The wifi was a little slow to load but doable and worked fine in the main reception area.
Mathew, the owner, was extremely easy to work with and promptly responded to emails.
All in all a great find that we would highly recommend."

"This is our 4th time to stay at Luna Encantada. We enjoyed it as much this time as all of the other times. The complex is clean, comfortable, beautiful, on the beach, and simply wonderful. Any issues we had were minor and dealt with immediately by the staff on the property. The condo complex contracts out help on the beach. Santiago and his brother were outstanding. They set up our chairs, got us drinks, and they were delightful.
We love the location. You are in the heart of Playa del Carmen but on the beach. Fusion next door is a treat."

"We chose Taninah for our wedding because it was so unique & private (how often do you get to rent an entire resort?!) We had a diverse group from grandparents to a 4 month old and in between with various comfort and budget levels. It was eco-luxury. Each cabana had a full bathroom with spa-like walk-in showers. Touring the place when we arrived was one delight after the other.
The staff was magic - invisible unless you needed anything. We would be hanging out & the mosquito nets were drawn, right next to me without me ever seeing them! I never caught them doing it although it was every night. But I never had trouble finding someone if I ever needed anything.
There are a few drawbacks - the biggest is not being directly on the beach and I was really worried about that because I *love* the beach. But, having your own private underground swimming grotto with water slide trumped the beach. Besides, we took a quick ride over to the beach two days- that was enough. The other drawback is that the food is served sort of family style - everyone gets essentially the same meal - in case you have any super finicky foodies. They were super accomodating about preferences - replacing seafood with chicken or even egg-less chocolate cake for the ones who didn't like eggs! Most of the food was very good and some was fantastic but if you're looking for every meal to be 5-star with adjectives on all your ingredients, you won't be happy. You do get to pick your menu (coconut shrimp was unbelievable). And daily fresh guacamole in the afternoon! Lastly, the resort is very eco-friendly. I actually loved this aspect but my convenience-trumps-all sis did notice some things, like the no resort-wide wifi (it was only at the main cabana) or composting toilet. I never noticed anything.
We chose Taninah as a splurge but it turned out to be very economical. Everyone stayed in their own spacious very private cabana, not a little hotel room. Anything we needed (including the alcohol), the staff got for us at Sam's Club or the grocery store, not resort prices. In the end, we spent much less (maybe half) than if we had gone to a typical resort (& we SEARCHED but never found one that met everyone's needs and budget). Taninah was the only one that was luxurious, economical, and convenient for families (no lugging gear when they move from trampoline to pool to playroom!).
Great place to bond - enough privacy to have your space but also spend time together.
GO! You won't regret it!"
