"My wife and I stayed at this house with 2 other couples in Spring of 2012 and we had such a great time that when my wife and her friends were going away for a girls weekend we immediately thought of this place. We contacted the owners and they were amazing like usual. This house is spectacular and the pictures speak for themselves, but the best part is the attention that the owners provide you to make sure your stay is 100% taken care. Emails answered on time, etc. I have stayed at countless properties I have found on vrbo, but these are by far the best owners. You will not be disappointed at all. I have already sent the link to a friend thinking of going in July....."

  • Fantastic, spacious, perfect location

"Barbara's condo in Bosque de los Aluxes was exactly what we needed. I traveled there for a week in early April with my wife, brother and his girlfriend (all of us late 20s/early 30s), and we all agreed that we'd go back in a heartbeat. If you've been to Playa, you know that 5th Ave has a lot to offer, but also can be loud/overwhelming/annoying at times. Barbara's condo is situated at the northern end of 5th where it is much more chill, but is still a stone's throw from both Mamita's/Kool beach clubs and all of the restaurants you've probably read about elsewhere. As for the inside of the property itself - it's fantastic. Both beds are king sized and really comfortable, the room sizes/layouts are identical with great walk-in showers. The view outside is fantastic - I at first thought that the rooftop was a shared space (like a rooftop in NYC), but it's all yours when staying there. The pool was very refreshing to hop in first thing in the morning or after the beach, but it's not something you'll want to spend all day in since it's about the size of a large hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed (including lots of spices), and we used it several times for dinner and breakfast. The only glitch in our stay is that the AC didn't work at first, but after emailing the property management company they sent someone out to repair it within an hour. (Quick side note - we ended up renting a car, and there was a place nearby that we walked to without a reservation...very easy process. I was a little nervous given that it was a foreign company, we had a small language barrier, and we didn't use GPS, but it went totally fine. We visited Tulum and a fantastic Monkey Sanctuary a few miles away from the ruins). Finally, even though Barbara goes through a property management company, she made sure to add her personal touch throughout the stay and offered several recommendations for places to eat/visit/shop."

  • Fabulous Vacation over Thanksgiving

"My family of 4 (2 teenage boys) had a wonderful stay at El Faro. Location was perfect being so central to activities such as X-Caret, Xel Ha, Coba and Chichen Itza (with the new highway, just opened Thanksgiving week). El Faro is very close to the Cozumel ferry; we sprinted to catch the noon one during our stay. 5th street was fun to visit, but we were glad that we were not on it. Many restaurants near by so it was easy to eat out, which we did about half the time and grilled at the condo the other half. Condo is beautiful and had all amenities needed, everything in working order. Maid service twice during the week was a plus. We had a car and parking below the building was always guarded. Terry was very responsive to all of my many questions via email before and during the stay. Wi Fi was excellent. El Faro property always looked clean and my kids loved the pool. I did laundry which was conveniently located on the 1st floor. Front desk and property management were available and very helpful. This unit is great for view and away from noise. It was a fabulous place to spend Thanksgiving week and would definitely recommend."
