  • Peaceful, comfortable condo with great beach facilities

"Spent 10 wonderful days in this condo- AC worked great.Plenty of hot water-just took a couple minutes to warm up. All appliances worked well. The Riviera Maya management team was very efficient. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Condo was clean and had wonderful breezes on roof top and balcony.Best part was the free access to Las Palapas Beach Club- the nicest section of beach in town! Large shady palapas and comfortable lounges. Great food and drinks available. Several nice pools on the grounds. Just a short walk thru jungle to beach. Will definitely return soon."

  • Very hard to beat

"I will get the 'negatives' out of the way first. The porch is quite small but good enough for coffee or a quiet drink for 2. However, with two pool areas, including a fantastic infinity pool with great views, a porch with sun-beds is not necessary. The infinity pool and roof area is truly amazing and very relaxing. We only had a 'crowd' one day when a family with teenagers and friends were there. Otherwise it was almost private. The other slight negative is that we were not told that the restaurant attached to the property had delivery service to the roof top pool. I think that adding a sign (plus maybe a direct phone connection) would enhance the experience. We brought our own drinks and snacks so it was no big deal but we probably would have ordered lunch a few times. The condo itself is very large and well appointed. Bedroom has a 'walk-in' closet area with ironing board and iron. Bathroom is very spacious and living area and kitchen are excellent. For two people, they provided four bath towels and four beach towels and, for an extra fee, these can be changed (along with a full cleaning service) at midweek. The giant water container lasted the full 2 weeks we were there. Satellite TV has lots of channels and they provided a list of which were available in English. Strangely, no news channel in English but with fast wi-fi service we had enough news available on-line. ESPN was available so I got to see the Open Golf! They also provided beach chairs and an umbrella, plus a boogie board (which remained in the closet!). The beach is really only steps away and is the best beach area in Playa. Not eroded at all, unlike the southern beach which is getting quite narrow. The beach clubs were a tad pricey, so we just used the chairs and went to a couple of the clubs just for lunch. The area is perfect. This was our 7th trip to PDC and we have always stayed at around Calle 10-12. Pueblito is on Calle 38. There are no less than 9 restaurants and cafes with a 2 minute walk between the condo and 5th Avenue. We tried 5 of them (having eaten at some of the others on previous trips) and all were excellent and great value. This side of 5th, north of Av. Constitutientes (sp?) is relatively quiet compared to the south end but is well provided with bars, restaurants and shops. This will be our go to place for the next few trips and, if we have extra guests, we may try one of the condos with a roof top private lounge area and plunge pool. Super place."

  • Wonderful Visit

"We spent 8 days in this condo with our 15 and 12 year old daughters. First, I have to say, that for those not familiar with Playa del Carmen, this is not a destination for quiet, out of the way relaxation. You are definitely "in the middle of it all" the second you walk out of your sliding doors onto the beach. The first day we arrived, the club next door (Coco Maya) was pounding it's music & the bass exceptionally loud mid-afternoon. I was very concerned that this would be a problem but it seemed to be an unusual occurrence and things were better after that (a few pleading glances at the DJ would often fix that problem!). And honestly, after a day or so, we found we didn't really hear the music much anymore. It was just background noise. And, while the music got louder at night, the bedrooms were really very insulated and none of the bedrooms were disturbed. (Funny, we NEVER saw more than half a dozen people in the club. My husband even walked over there one night around midnight one night just to see & it was empty. I don't know who they were playing the music for!). Anyway, we loved being right on the beach. A little disappointed that we couldn't swim immediately in front of us because of too many boats, but there was a swimming area just to the right and a couple of days we walked down the beach to Mamita's beach and rented a chair for the day. (Seems pricey at $35 but it includes food, bathrooms, a pool and an umbrella). The waiters from Coco Maya came by to ask if we wanted drinks etc. so that was nice too. Up and down the beach there are massage stations for $20 massages. One of those stations is directly in front of the condo on the beach which is a bit annoying but, like the music, we eventually came to ignore it and it was convenient when I wanted a massage! The cleaning staff came every 2 days and did a great job and everyone was lovely. There was a slew of 20 somethings there when we were so there was quite a bit of partying going on but it wasn't too disruptive. We were always able to use the pool (very small but a nice break) without crowds, never a problem parking our rental car. The condo was well stocked, Water cooler, A/c & fans worked well (very much needed in August!) laundry was great, plenty of towels, high quality linens. Wifi excellent. Location is great, 2 blocks to restaurants and shops (& Starbucks in both directions). Took lots of day trips (Tulum, Chichen Itza) & great mid-way point for this."

  • Quiet, Relaxing, Home Away From Home...

"Excellent place to stay. Very clean and well maintained. Arena Blanca is steps away from the busy 5th Ave. Its on the northern quieter side of town. If you want to come relax and stay away from all the noise, this is the place to stay. There is an Oxxo (like a 7/11) right across the street for quick snacks, water or over the counter medicine. Clubs and bars are just a walk away. The beach is a block away. The famous Mamitas Beach Club is about a 10 minute walk. I rented two beach layout chairs and a palapa for $9USD. They also have staff to take food and drinks out to the beach. Places I recommend to eat... (all on 5th Avenue) La Parilla, La Vagabunda, La Cueva del Chango, Bip Bip. Short cab ride - La Mission (Mexican Food), and El Fogon (Outstanding Tacos) Recommended Tours You must go to Tulum and Akumal Beach (awesome snorkeling). Visit Chichenitza and Xcaret."
