  • Great Condo, even better view!

"My wife and I stayed here for a week and we can't say enough great things about the condo or the owners. The best thing was sitting on the shaded patio, just stones throw from the beach. The view from the patio is, for us, heavenly. Having a full kitchen with everything you need to make all of your meals and a great blender to make frozen cocktails was great. The pool area was nice and was not usually a problem to find a sunlounger. The beds and loungers on the beach are a great touch. The property is well kept with work going on to keep it clean all the time. The one downside was not having an ATM on site, but it is a relatively quick walk to town, so not that big of a deal. The owners were great people, and we can't wait to rent from them again next year. Love, Love, Love Playa Del Carmen and this condo is a great way to visit."

  • Great house and great location. Perfect for our family!

"We rented this house for a family vacation with my sister and her partner, my parents and our one year old baby (7 including the baby). We chose it for its proximity to town and the beach and were not disappointed! Everything went smoothly, from pre-departure communication with David, the owner and the rental agency, to arrival to departure. The house was very spacious and well equipped. Great kitchen, I would just recommend getting some dishes that are microwave friendly (all are plastic, except the glasses) and some larger salad or mixing type bowls, but otherwise it had absolutely everything! We only had one problem when the gas ran out, but we called The rental agency and they sent people immediately! We found them very accessible by phone. The maid service very thorough. Wifi worked well. There are definitely two nicer rooms with the king beds, while the third room is a little plainer, but it was fine for us and would be good for kids. Air con everywhere, though we didn't need it as there was a "cold snap" during our visit. The communal pool was nice and quiet. The beach was close and lovely. The house is right by the gate to exit Playacar, so you are close to shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere, but you could also grab a taxi. We tried to avoid 5th ave as it was too touristy for us, but we found some great restaurants further up from the water. We rented a van twice, with no problems, and toured ruins and cenotes close to Tulum. Also easy to do a trip over to Cozumel for diving or snorkelling- recommended! The birds are noisy, though I didn't find it too bad at dawn, so sleeping was fine. There were other times in the day (feeding time?) when it got really loud, but it was ok. I would rent Casa Guacamaya again if coming back to Playa. Thanks again David!"

  • Beautiful destination. Lovely and comfortable accomodations.

"We enjoyed our stay immensely. Condo was spacious, well appointed and the view unbeatable. Love the location of the condo complex. Safe and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Never needed any transportation other than our feet. The condo complex never felt crowded even during the busy Easter week. Pool and beach never seemed to crowded either. Highly recommend."

  • Wonderful.

"We stayed at Casa Alcazar for a week in February 2015 to celebrate my father's 75th birthday and my stepdaughter's 25th birthday. We ranged in age from 11 to 75, and the home was absolutely perfect for our group of 8. We loved the communal spaces! The outdoor patio and garden, the dining room and kitchen, the open air lounge between the upstairs rooms, and to the bird's nest balcony were such wonderful gathering spots for all of us. The uppermost balcony is probably not suited for very young children or elderly, but was fine for our group. The pool is only a few steps away, the tennis courts and beach only about a 5 minute walk. The beach is quieter than the surrounding resorts areas and we did not feel a need to use the adjacent resort at all. The owner was beyond gracious in managing a scheduling challenge prior to our arrival and went above and beyond to help us. Ulla was a perfect host, and not only helped make our stay more comfortable but helped us pick perfect experiences for our family. A highlight was a gourmet meal prepared out the house by Chef Paco that featured regional cuisine and made for a perfect celebratory dinner. We had no trouble during our stay but the couple of times we needed to reach Ulla she was immediately responsive. We would highly recommend and so grateful that we enjoyed such a memorable family experience!"
