Perfect location, great snorkeling, beautiful condo
"We just got back today from a beautiful sunny week at cantamar. The place was really stunningly beautiful....amazing views, amazing snorkeling just in the backyard, and a lovely perch cantilevered over the ocean made for two and a cooler! Everything was kept very clean, the sand raked each morning, and the pool cleaned throughout the day. We met some lovely people over adult beverages in the pool who had not stayed at cantamar before, but loved it also. The interior of the condo was so pretty and well stocked...we needed nothing. The master king sized bed was extremely comfortable with big pillows and a cotton bed spread which was the perfect weight for a good nights sleep. We prepared a couple of breakfasts and all of the utensils needed were right there. As was a blender for piña coladas, and a really great coffee maker, with a carafe pot. Plenty of fresh water, ice cube trays, dishes, cups...you name it. My only criticisms are poor water pressure in the master shower, however the guest bath had great pressure; lack of privacy on the balcony - I wanted there to be a roof or overhead covering to provide privacy from the upper units; the kitchen counter was a bit sparse/of a strange height which made it difficult to prepare food/cook. I am not complaining at all, just providing insight for other travellers. Other than those picky items, we thoroughly enjoyed this condo and would stay again in a heartbeat. Laura and Eduardo, the property managers were kind enough to help us secure a taxi the morning of our departure...today!, which was a huge help. I want to give it 4.5 stars but can only give solid stars. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"Words can not describe this place. The view was spectacular. Waking up to the sound of the ocean was so calming and relaxing that we recorded it! It was so nice to not hear the noise of daily life from cars and airplanes. We really enjoyed the pool and outdoor area every day. Going to playa norte at Zazilha restaurant for the sunset was beautiful. I have never seen the sun like this before now. We will definitely return to casa vaya vida in the future (my husband wants to move there). This place definitely feels like home in another world. Hasta que nos encontremos de nuevo!"

"Prior to the trip I emailed Ryan numerous times and he was always very prompt in responding-thanks for that Ryan! We stayed for four nights at Casa Amarilla, husband, son, daughter, her friend and me. The two chatty teenage girls had their own bedroom and bathroom which everyone appreciated. We had plenty of things we wanted to do, ie, Sian Kaan, Akumal, Chichen Itza, etc. and the house was centrally located for all of that. We were really only at the house to sleep and no issues-beds fine, and although we didnt cook once, the kitchen seemed fully equipped. Maybe the bath towels could be upgraded? We had breakfast most mornings from one of the the two street vendors-excellent empanadas and tacos. La Palapa for dinner was good too. The restaurant on the NE? corner of the village was great too- loved it. Los Arricife? The only bummer for us, and obvs not related to the house at all, is that Xcacel is no longer an empty beach....I guess everyone there had the same fantasy. :)"
