"This was our 4th visit to Casa Cavu. We plan to return. Our favorite place to vacation and relax. The house had a fresh coat of paint since the previous year. turtles nested at night at the foot of the palms and patio area. Rocia and Isidro, always the best in taking care of us. This year we took the boat out from Casa Cenote Water sports and snorkeled. 2.5 hours = $35 each. A bargain, and you can bring your own beer. They supply the equip, the boat, the driver, and the cooler. Its the simple things about this place we love."

"The location of this condo could not have been better. To wake up with the ocean and swimming pool right in front of you is wonderful. The condo was decorated very nicely, and we especially liked the beautiful stained glass window in the master bedroom. The grounds are exceptionally maintained, the pool pristine. However, there were things that did make our visit frustrating. First, we did not receive very accurate directions to the condo You must exit the main road onto a frontage road to reach the condo. This wasn't relayed to us so it took us over an hour and 1/2 to find it. Second, we were to call Jordi upon our arrival but we didn't have phone service. (Recommendation - be sure to sign up for international calling before you go.) Or better yet, it would be helpful for the condo to have Vonage or some other local phone service like the condo across the pool has). Finally, the condo continually had ants, which was annoying. Luckily a housekeeper came in and put out ant bait. Regardless of these frustrations, we still had a wonderful time, ate breakfast on the patio every morning and cherished our experience at this beautiful place.
We ate at the Money Bar - awesome food, entertainment, and sunset! We ate at Sr. Frogs - bad food, and the waiters kept touching us, massaging us, hugging us. Ugh! We also took the ferry to Playa Del Carmen to Xcaret. The ferry is cheap ($10 one way, easy to access, very comfortable, and fast). Parking in Cozumel is a challenge. We really enjoyed Xcaret - especially floating the underground rivers and the musical show. Expensive but worth it. The food there was so-so, which we expect at those types of parks."

"My wife and I usually stay at resorts, so I thought this time we would try a condo close to the beach. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. :) It's close to the beach one way, and just a little further the other direction to 5th Avenue. Everything is within walking distance; restaurants, bars, stores, it's awesome.
The condo itself is wonderful. Everything you could ever want or need is available. It is clean and very comfortable. A full kitchen with utensils, etc., everything in the listing. The infinity pool is wonderful as well, very clean and well-maintained. And the there's the view from the pool out to the beach and ocean. It has to be seen, it's awesome. The owner is very prompt with answering questions and is a pleasure to deal with, everything was easy about the rental.
I could probably say alot more, but everything in these reviews is accurate and we will definitely be renting here again."

"The apartment was great, extremely clean, we had all we needed and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The water system is an excellent feature. The convenient store across from the place was very helpful and the lady neighbor with the eatery is still there. We enjoyed her empanadas for breakfast one day.
Staying in Casita Maria/Akumal was an excellent choice. Staying away from the crowds and the “more commercial” area gave us the vacation feeling we were looking for. We enjoyed seeing the Iguanas, Hermit crabs, turtles nesting at night (twice). This was our first time snorkeling…and what a place to start!!! We were all in awe! We went to Xcacel (Stunning beach), Akumal Bay (twice), Chichen Itza, Rio Secreto and Xel-há. All great places.
We ate at La Buena Vida twice (five minutes walk from the apt, the food was great and our boys asked to go back after the first time); Oscar and Lalo (via Tulum - excellent food and excellent service); my son had what he thought was the best smoothie of his life at Turtle Bay Café and Bakery, and my husband and I had the best dinner at La Lunita (down the road, after Playa Caribe).
Sadly, Half Moon Bay was covered with Sargassum seaweed. Which from what we heard has been impacting all beaches from Cancun down to Tulum. The bay is not very appealing and the smell is very strong so very few people ventured to snorkeling or even swimming there.
Luckily for us, Xcacel and Akumal Bay waters were very clean. And Xel-ha and Rio Secreto had no issues with the seaweed. So, even though we were disappointed at first, our vacation was not greatly impacted by it. We still think those were the greatest beaches we had ever visited."
