  • Perfection!

"Tulum has to be one of the most magical little beach towns I have ever visited- and Casa Laha exceeded all expectations . The house is so thoughtfully designed, with each of the 5 suites having a special element, whether it be an ocean view, a Japanese soaking tub or outdoor showers just outside your door. We were a party of 10, and never once felt crowded. Daniel and the house staff were friendly and thorough. They prepared fresh breakfast snacks every morning and served it on the outdoor deck overlooking the BEAUTIFUL ocean. There are plenty of activities to be done in Tulum, or you can simply relax on the hammocks, beanbags, or mats shaded by the Palapas on Casa Laha's private stretch of beach. I would highly recommend the city, and house, and am already planning a second trip."

  • Playa condo

"The location was close to all of the action and the condo was very nice, situated in a very nice condo complex--appointed very well with nice furniture and a fully equiped kitchen, very modern all around. About a 1 block walk to the beach, short walk to numerous restaurants, clubs, etc. No laundry in the unit. It was a bit noisy from street and club noise at night, esp on the wk-end. The A/C malfunctioned for about 1/2 of our trip but was repaired after the wk-end and temps weren't too bad with the doors/windows open and the fans on. It has secure parking which is very nice if one rents a car like we did. Nice view of Cozumel at night from the rooftop deck, and great sea breezes from multiple decks. All in all pretty much just as advertised, a lovely apt, lots of bathrooms, and the owner was responsive via email (didn't try calling him) and responsive to both answering questions and dealing with the couple of issues that came up. I don't know about sleeping 8 (unless one of the living room sofas opens up--didn't try); it was more space than we needed with 2 adults and 2 teens. Would probably stay there again if visiting Playa, and would recommend to others."

  • From 3 Prairie Provinces to Paradise

"We stayed at Villa Turquesa for 10 days, 3 generations and 14 people! Everyone was very comfortable, and never felt crowded at all. This was our first vacation rental and we were surprised that it was far above our expectations as the pictures don't do this property justice. The Kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils, a full fridge and an upright freezer, gas stove with oven, and all small appliances you might want, the only thing missing is a dishwasher. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, all with an ensuite bathroom. The view from the patio is beautiful and you are steps from some of the best snorkeling ever, the entrance is rocky but you can walk to a sandy area to enter if you like. We were greeted by Jorge who was great for info on everything we might want or need,he arranged fishing trips and a golf day, and helped with everything from heat rash to transportation, he also cooked for us 2 nights which was terrific and less expensive than eating in a restaurant. Olga and Rosy were our housekeepers and managed to keep everything spotless with 14 people on the go. Carlos was the gardener and he cleaned the pool daily and brought us fresh coconuts. The pool was fun and refreshing. We used the BBQ often and it worked great for cooking for the group. The kayaks were used every day.The villa is not within walking distance to restaurants or shopping so we would recommend a rental car as driving in this area is very easy, taxis are easy to get but are expensive and can only hold 4 people. Collectivo buses on the highway were used to go to Playa del Carmen, Excaret and a few restaurants. The security on site was very friendly and helpful to call taxis. We can't wait to return and visit with our new friends at Villa Turquesa who helped make this trip so special."

  • Way better than a hotel!

"We absolutely loved staying at Casa Sonrisa. The house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is very well equipped which makes cooking and eating in fun. We especially enjoyed our leisurely breakfasts cooked at "home". We would, however, also recommend the breakfast at Primo Trattoria, a rooftop restaurant where the view and the food were so good that we took pictures of both. We walked there. The gas grill-there are two of them-is just the thing for grilling fresh fish purchased at a nearby market. Another plus is the rooftop pool. Just the place for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The location is great. Casa Sonrisa is located in a safe, friendly neighborhood just five blocks from the waterfront and walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. There is a lovely park just around the corner. For longer trips, taxis are plentiful, inexpensive and easy to hail on nearby streets There was maid service twice a week, pool service three times a week and a wonderful property manager who met us when we arrived, called a taxi for us when we left and checked in with us during the week to make sure everything was ok. The owner was also very helpful and called us before arrival with information about how to get there, tips about the neighborhood and information about the property. A book with everything you need to know from garbage pickup to restaurant recommendations is available on site. There was only one problem. A week was not enough. We hope to stay longer next time!"
