  • PERFECT VACATION

"We just returned yesterday from 12 days at this wonderful condo. I can't say enough about how great the condo and the community are. Everything was seamless, right from the moment I started communicating with the owner, Ed. Ed was great to deal with, he was very responsive to answer any questions I had and once you book he sends you a very comprehensive package with all kinds of information in it. When we first arrived, I would refer to things that Ed had told me about, within a few days, when we were wondering about something, my husband would say, what did Ed say, lol. We paid through PayPal and received our deposit back within 24 hours of returning home. After looking around down there, I think it is fair to say this is one of the best condos and complexes in the community. The furnishings in the condo are very high end and have a mexican feel. The grounds, pool, hot tub are all wonderful. We spent alot of time out on the patio and used the table top bbq several times. For the 2 of us, it worked out great. When we first arrived, there were a few minor issues and the Property Manager and Ed responded to us and resolved them immediately. We took a shuttle from the airport through CARM Transfers, that worked out great. We didn't rent a car, and after our first day there, decided it was too much walking for us so we rented a golf cart through Bruno (who Ed recommended). They delivered it and picked it up at the condo. We had a great time exploring the community in the cart. It was 35/day. We got groceries at both Walmart in Playa and the Chedrai Grocery store outside the gates at Puerto, (50 pesos by taxi). We took a day trip to Tulum. We booked through Connection Zone, they are in the centre of Puerto. It is a run by a husband and wife team, they have a 7 seat Suburban and it very personalized. We lucked in and it was just the 2 of us that day, I would highly recommend them. We ate at most of the restaurants, Latitude 20 (closest to the condo, good food and good happy hour) Pelican Point, (the fanciest), Café Ole (best food), the Pub (casual, ok), Hippo (our least favorite) and Jessies Gelato (ice cream to die for!). We had the buffet at the Dolphin Discovery, we wouldn't really recommend this. Not all restaurants take credit cards, but we used the bank machines with no problems. We travel every winter and must say this is one of our best holidays we have had in a long time. We hope to return next year!!"

  • Great studio condo in great location!

"My husband and I spent a week at Rob & Sue's condo in Puerto Aventuras and had a thoroughly relaxing stay. I had never been to Mexico before and wasn't sure what to expect, but what a treat! The condo was just as advertised and a great value. We dealt with Rob via email and he was very informative and prompt in answering all our questions. Rob offered to arrange airport transfers, but we opted to rent a car so we could visit the surrounding areas. Parking was right in front of the condo. We had no issues driving in Mexico, but we stayed on the main roads and mostly traveled during daylight. The location was perfect to visit Tulum, Excaret, Playa del Carmen .... the list goes on! There was a large, clean supermarket right across the street from the community and you could get everything there, including beer and wine. The condo itself was VERY quiet and relaxing. The deck faced a lovely yard and the marina. We had some cute visitors, iguanas and agouti, in the yard and they were entertaining to watch! We needed peace and quiet and that's what we got! The pool and the ocean were only 120 steps from the front door (good luck getting that at a resort!). The beach is small and not for long walks, but you can walk/jog around the marina if you want to stretch your legs. It was fun to take a morning stroll and see the dolphins playing at the Dolphinarium. What was appealing to us was that the barrier reef was right there! We brought our snorkel gear and went out most days. The fish were amazing! So many colours and sizes .... we highly recommend the snorkeling. The condo was well equipped and we had dinner in two nights, but there was an abundance of restaurants just a stroll away. Many choices and reasonable prices. You could even get Starbucks coffee! The wifi was good and worked on the deck too. The king bed had great linens and there were plenty of towels. The community itself is pretty laid back and friendly. We met some of the neighbours from the "Sunset Club". If you were available and inclined, there were a small group of people (renters and owners) who met each night with a cocktail to watch the sunset, then they went on their way. They were a great source of info and just really welcoming and friendly! It was a great holiday, at a great condo and community and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! Thank you Rob & Sue!"

  • Tranquil oasis we can't wait to return to

"Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Gil, the owner was exceptional answering my 20+ questions and the property manager quickly rectified the brief issues we had with hot water heater and master A/C. The top floor condo with rooftop deck is large, clean and neat, and the location excellent. Great kitchen and comfy beds. We had just come from Playacar where we had 30 min walks to the beach. Here, it is a 3 minute walk to the beach and lagoon in front of the Catalonia, open to the public. Witnessed a wedding there one afternoon. We kayaked in the lagoon right out front, water calm enough for our 2 teens to go on their own. Lagoon connects to the aforementioned beach. Spectacular view, amazing sunsets, beautiful pool - the new covered BBQ and dining area is not pictured and is stunning, best outdoor space on the lagoon. Short walk to town, we didn't rent a car, took taxi to big grocery store on highway and hired a fishing boat for 1/2 day. Caught 2 mahi mahi. We also used this condo as base to visit Akumal - we took the collectivo and public bus safely on highway. We hope to return soon! Thank you!!"

  • Amazing and unique

"A group of 9 of us stayed at Casa del Agua. Our experience was fantastic start to finish but I'd like to highlight a few things that made our stay truly unique. Gerardo (the owner) was easy to reach and worked well with us to coordinate things before our visit. As he promised, the staff was really excellent and for those of us not used to having a personal butler bringing you drinks and private chef cooking for you 3 times a day it was a very special treat. As others have mentioned, the chef is VERY talented and flexible, getting our meals ready for us whenever we asked. Do not underestimate the convenience of never having to find a restaurant, decide what to eat, wait through slow service and sometimes be disappointed with the result - having this all taken care of gives you more time to enjoy your vacation and reduces stress. As the pictures show, the architecture of Casa del Agua is unique - you are not just staying in another beach condo in Mexico. Finally, while there are many "beachfront" rentals, your dining table is ~20-30 feet from the water, and the pool even closer. This proximity was important to me and I did not see any other properties around that rivaled it. You will enjoy your trip."
