  • Perfect family vacation in a gorgeous home

"Our family spent Thanksgiving week at Casa Mariposa and had such a wonderful time. The house is stunning and the photos online depict the house very well. We were so happy with the accomodations and how nicely everything is kept. It is quite apparent that the owners take a lot of price in Casa Mariposa as the home is well maintained and the furnishings make you really feel pampered. The area is full of fun things to do. We all loved our morning dip in the pool that was larger than I was thinking and the fresh squeezed orange juice we had for the special breakfasts that were cooked for us each morning. We chose to have the Chef services for all but 2 nights of our stay and was one of our best decisions. The food is fine dining quality and the price is much better than going to a restaurant especially if you want to have a drink or wine. The spectacular view of the water is breath taking. We all spent time by the pool and enjoying our surroundings. It was so nice that the bedrooms were so large, everyone had enough space and more. Melodie is exceptional. She helped us make arrangements and answered our questions timely. We can't wait to go back to Casa Mariposa, next time for a longer stay than a week."

  • We will return

"Excellent stay, in all respects. Jane is a very helpful owner, who replies promptly to any question...and provides helpful suggestions. The unit is very neat & clean & attractively decorated. The only thing we missed was a teakettle. The staff at Porto Bello is excellent, and the maid and laundry service are outstanding. Restaurants are just a 5-minute walk away. Beach, towels & facilities are available from the Omni hotel (5 minute walk) for $125...with a 25% discount thereafter for purchases there (cheaper if you pay in pesos). We highly recommend the Omni's restaurant (ceviche is the best I have had anywhere). Omni prices are somewhat higher that at other Puerto Aventuras restaurants, but the quality & 25% discount compensates. Our 2nd choice for restaurants is Masimo's. The wedge salad at Cafe Ole is outstanding, though we would order something other than enchiladas & hamburguesas on our next visit (last year their Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding). We did not make it to Latitude 20 this year, but that is another good dining option. We did this stay without a car. The walk to the Chedraui for groceries is about 17 minutes each way. I suggest you bring a sturdy backpack if you plan to do this, though you can get a taxi back for about 50 pesos. Shuttle transport to/from the airport typically runs about $70. We used a taxi for returning for 730 pesos + tip. For other travel that is much cheaper, adventuresome folks can walk to the gate (7 minutes) and catch a colectivo. On return, you might enjoy a stop at Taco Paco, located between the Pemex and Subway. Not fancy and not scenic, but the fish and coconut shrimp tacos are excellent (they close at 6pm). With all that Porto Bello and Jane's have to villa offer, we can't help but return."

"Our family of 4 just spent 8 days of pure heaven in this fabulous condo. Upon arrival, when opening the door for the first time we all ooohed and ahhhed at the panoramic ocean views and the beautiful comfortable furnishings. It was decorated extremely tastefully with an eye for detail and comfort. We appreciated the privacy of being on the 3rd floor and were glad we made that choice. The elevator made it easy if we weren't up for the stairs. The condo is extremely clean and well taken care of. The infinity pool is perfect with silky waters overlooking the Carribean Sea. The location felt extremely safe with a gated entrance and guards screening people as they came in. Puerta Adventuras was a great location for us as it was close to the places we wanted to go...Akumal for perfect snorkeling right off the beach, Tulum for perfect waves, Playa del Carmen for fun shopping, and even not so far from the Ruins at Coba for biking through the jungle to the Mayan pyramids. Our kids LOVED swimming with the dolphins nearby! Driving was so easy with excellent roads and signage, so glad we rented a car. At the end of the day we were always happy to be back to our condo balcony and said "we could have just stayed here happily ..." The owner Ed, was so wonderful to correspond with. He thinks of everything and is so helpful with suggestions and helped make our trip that much better. We will definitely come back and highly recommend!"

  • great condo in fantastic location

"Wonderful spacious condo overlooking the marina from the terrace and just yards from the beautiful pool overlooking the beach. It is really close to the community's shops and restaurants making easy it access facilities if you don't drive. It is ideal for couples and younger families but we went off peak and it was a little quiet in the evening for our teenage sons but perfect for us. Condo is really well equipped but girlies don't forget to take your hairdryer if you need one."
