Great Whole House Rental
"What a great place to spend 10 days!
There were 6 of us and everyone had their own space. Our older daughter enjoyed the privacy of the 3rd floor efficiency, teenagers enjoyed having their own kitchen for late nite snacks, and the adults enjoyed the flow of the main floor with full kitchen and dining area which was great for all of us to enjoy our meals together.
The location of this house is excellent, basically on the beach! Within easy walking distance into town, either on the street or on the beach. You can also take the "collectivo" (local bus) into town for $5 pesos. We enjoyed taking morning walks on the beach and evening walks through the neighborhood.
Communication with Colin was excellent as we booked only 2 weeks prior to our arrival. His responses were always prompt and when we firmed up our reservation he provided lots of information about the house and Puerto Morelos. Claudia was an excellent choice for them to use as a manager for this property. She met us promptly at the house at our arrival, she provided information about the area and booked our tours. She also provided information on local car and bike rental as well as setting them up. She was always available and responded promptly to our questions or needs."

"We are from CA and booked a last minute getaway and chose the Qunitana Roo area because Hawaii had hurricanes at the time. Neither of us had been to that part of Mexico. We found this condo and it had great reviews. All the reviews are true, it's an exceptional condo and property.
We went during off season and we were the only ones at the Villas so once we got past wondering what the catch was we settled in for a week of relaxation. The view is amazing, the grounds are well maintained, aside from some pool tile that needs some repairs. The people were very nice and balanced well between leaving us alone and making sure our needs were met. The local people in Puerto Morelos are very nice and we were there for the Mexican Independence Day celebration and chose to get a local experience over flocking to tourist spots. It was really fantastic. We are vegan so there were good restaurant choices in town and a grocery nearby.
I only have two small nits. One was that the fridge was out of commission in the condo which we were bummed about because we expected to cook more meals for ourselves. However, they had a small fridge bright in, counter sized and we were given access to use one in one of the other rooms to store our stuff. Not a deal breaker for us alone but could have been if we had brought kids.
The second problem was the seaweed. Read up on it before you go. The Villas staff cleaned it one day but honestly it's a full time job for about 10 people. We walked on beaches at a resort, in Playa and Paradise Beach in Tulum and this is a major problem for the entire area. That Caribbean blue in pictures is now brownish yellow and the beaches are piled high with the stuff. Workers are using heavy equipment and nets to try to control it but it's not possible. We opted to settle back at the villa with the infinity pool to ourselves and one patch of beach that was relatively under control. It's really sad to see and doesn't smell great either.
Again, the condo was amazing. If I were in the market to buy one, it would be this one! Don't miss Chitza Itza, we rented a car and drove ourselves it was super easy. There are tolls so bring pesos."

"We stayed at the Caribbean Reef Villa for two weeks. I would say it is close to perfect. The pool is amazing. The property is right on the beach. Nice and quiet. Only about 20 units. The staff do well maintaining the grounds. Our room was cleaned three times during our stay. Our one bedroom unit was larger than I thought it was going to be and the layout (murphy bed in the living room, two full bathrooms) would allow for having guests stay with you The only downside is the location. It is a bit less than a mile south of town but you cannot walk the beach into town. you either walk the road or walk by the perimeter of the shipping yard. We typically walked into town but took a taxi back (50 pesos). A location North of town would be better but the property itself is great."

"I really don't know if words can truly do justice to the experience we had staying at Playa Y Mar. Eugenia is the most gracious host we have ever had after renting homes in Quintana Riu area over the last 8 years. From the time I requested availability until the afteenoon we reluctantly left, she was available and helful with everything from recommending a driver with van for 10 to restaurants and local cenotes to visit. She helped us arrange for Wendy (the lovely local lady who was our daily cleaner) to prepare AMAZING authentic Mexican breakfasts everyday.
It was my wife's 50th birthday so Eugenia also help arrange massages for all the ladies at the house.
The home is immaculate in every way. It is located only 3 blocks from the central square of Puerto Morelos and all its restaurants and activities. Only 300ft to the north is Paradice Beach bar and its daily happy hour (listen for them blowing the conch shell horn). We will be renting from Eugenia from this point on as we cannot imagine staying anywhere else."
