Most Relaxing Vacation Ever!!
"We stayed at Casa del Sol in September and discovered a little piece of heaven! The house is even prettier than the pictures. There were 5 of us on a girls trip. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, as was the entire house. Meta and Jerry equipped the home with every amenity a renter would need for a great stay. Meta made the entire process from renting the home, recommendations on transportation (USA Transfers), restaurant recommendations, to returning the deposit, so easy. She even sent a friend down the beach to check on us! All the people we encountered in PM were kind and friendly. The staff at the house, Roberto, Adrian and Reyna, ensured our stay was hassle free. Someone in a prior review recommended having Nina cook early in the week, which we did, and we had great food left over for several days afterwards. In our search in town one afternoon for A/C, we discovered a jewelry store right off the square - ARTESANIAS AMBAR. The owners, Axel and his wife Rosalinda, were delightful. We purchased jewelry at a great price, and made some good friends along the way. I can't finish this review without mentioning the most amazing pool at the house. We spent everyday floating in the pool, which overlooked the beautiful ocean. We all agreed that this was the best, most relaxing vacation we have ever had. I love Casa del Sol (and Casa Margarita) and will be back again and again!"

"We stayed for a week and got to rediscover Puerto Morelos in a whole new way.
On the property itself, the pool area proved to be very private and peaceful with a choice of sun or shade through most of the day. The property was freshly cleaned when we arrived and completely re-cleaned half way through our visit. Someone came and maintained the pool every couple of days which was really comforting because I've been on the bad side of pool chemical imbalance in the past and it's not fun!
The vast upper floor offers a unique sleeping experience and open windows and fans kept the temperature manageable. The downstairs bedroom is air conditioned for those who prefer a bit more temperature control. The kitchen is well equipped and you could easily cook there, although we pretty much had the strategy of shopping for breakfast and lunch but going out for dinner each night. The other life essential (wifi ;) worked great.
The owners have been friendly and helpful throughout and found a great balance between making us feel at home, and welcoming us to their second home. They clearly take pride in their property and how they run their business.
The house is 2 minutes walk from the beach and 20 minutes walk (or a few minutes drive) from Puerto Morelos itself. We spent some lazy days around the house and it was magic.
Town had some great restaurants.. surprisingly good. The usual tourist type places which are always fun, but also Grays Kitchen and Richards with high end cuisine.
For things to do, firstly I'd recommend to anyone doing this kind of vacation to rent a car. I don't think we would have had the same experience without the ability to hop into town for dinner, or go the few miles back to the highway to the supermarket.
Locally, I highly recommend the $25 snorkeling trip out to the reef from Puerto Morelos harbor. Also Jungle Spa which is a cross between ancient mayan healing and a traditional massage.. mind blowing for those with an open mind. If you want some beach time then your choice is just to head to the beach and bring what you need, or head towards town and find Unico. It's the hotel type of beach experience.. loungers, umbrellas and food and drink service. All very reasonable.
We came to really love Puerto Morelos. It's a combination of rough-around-the-edges real mexico but also a friendly tourist destination. Will definitely recommend to others."

"We recently returned from a 3 night stay here, and had a really nice time. The place was beautiful and the staff was awesome. The geckos are a little noisy, but hey, it's their home all the time, we just were visitors! We walked into town a few times, and ate. A couple of restaurants there, which were very good. If you are expecting an all inclusive type of resort this is not for you, but if peace and quiet and cooking a few of your own meals is what you're looking for, then THIS is paradise!"

"This was my 8th visit to PM, 2nd time at Casita Blanca & 1st time in Palma's condo. We loved it! Great views, fantastic kitchen and baths, the place was clean & well stocked with linens. The couple issues we had were quickly addressed by management with fast, attentive assistance from the owner (it was on a Sunday.) I would definitely recommend this condo & owner's attentiveness & responsiveness! Looking forward to next year! Muchas gracias Palma!"
