Wonderful Experience at Casa Marcella
"It was not easy to leave the beautiful Casa Marcella this morning! So interesting to be adjacent to the H10 all inclusive for the week, reinforcing why a stay at Casa Marcella provides a truly authentic experience. Bruno could not have been more accommodating to our group of 12, he and his staff were polite and considerate. Bruno arranged for a masseuse to arrive most late afternoons (on the rooftop), and coordinated a great zip-lining trip. We elected to use Bruno's chef, and each meal was better than the next. (They even waited at the fishing pier for 2 hours one afternoon for first pick of fresh lobsters from the incoming boats). The pool and grounds were very well maintained, and the fresh ocean breezes passed through the house from start to finish. I do recommend a car, it is very easy to get around as everything is up and down A307, and the charming town of Puerto Morales is about 10-15 min away. We would highly recommend a stay at Casa Marcella, and hope to return in the future."

"We are from CA and booked a last minute getaway and chose the Qunitana Roo area because Hawaii had hurricanes at the time. Neither of us had been to that part of Mexico. We found this condo and it had great reviews. All the reviews are true, it's an exceptional condo and property.
We went during off season and we were the only ones at the Villas so once we got past wondering what the catch was we settled in for a week of relaxation. The view is amazing, the grounds are well maintained, aside from some pool tile that needs some repairs. The people were very nice and balanced well between leaving us alone and making sure our needs were met. The local people in Puerto Morelos are very nice and we were there for the Mexican Independence Day celebration and chose to get a local experience over flocking to tourist spots. It was really fantastic. We are vegan so there were good restaurant choices in town and a grocery nearby.
I only have two small nits. One was that the fridge was out of commission in the condo which we were bummed about because we expected to cook more meals for ourselves. However, they had a small fridge bright in, counter sized and we were given access to use one in one of the other rooms to store our stuff. Not a deal breaker for us alone but could have been if we had brought kids.
The second problem was the seaweed. Read up on it before you go. The Villas staff cleaned it one day but honestly it's a full time job for about 10 people. We walked on beaches at a resort, in Playa and Paradise Beach in Tulum and this is a major problem for the entire area. That Caribbean blue in pictures is now brownish yellow and the beaches are piled high with the stuff. Workers are using heavy equipment and nets to try to control it but it's not possible. We opted to settle back at the villa with the infinity pool to ourselves and one patch of beach that was relatively under control. It's really sad to see and doesn't smell great either.
Again, the condo was amazing. If I were in the market to buy one, it would be this one! Don't miss Chitza Itza, we rented a car and drove ourselves it was super easy. There are tolls so bring pesos."

"This Condo is one of a 18 unit condo, we have stayed in Casita Blanca before, but in one of the other 2 building that was in front of the pool. This condo is special in that it is to the far left of the complex, or if you are on the extremely white, powder sugar beach it is on the far right. This is very nice feature, as you still have the ocean view but are away from the pool activity of the other guests, so you can have peace and quiet, and if you want to join in the pool fun there are plenty of thatched umbrellas, and lots of sun beds. The condo also has a private side patio, completely hidden from other eyes, so you can sun bake, 100% a-natural and you also have a lawn area that is sunny in the morning and shaded in the after noon to park your sunbeds on. Only a 2 minute walk from condo to the ocean, i was going to say surf line, however being on the inside of the barrier reef the highest wave, or ripple is knee high. Puerto Morelos is special in that it has remained a small fishing village. The condo has been remodeled and has lovely granite countertops, which the other units do not have, they are more basic tile, I also liked the fact that it is on the ground floor, so no stari climbing. I am defineately returning."

"It's all true- all the good things in the reviews. I have to add to the praise even though we are already having trouble booking the house for the future, LOL, it's already quite popular!
So, we arrived on Easter Sunday. Knowing what a huge holiday it is in Mexico, we were nervous about crowds and so on for the week after Easter. We knew we didn't want to stay in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, but had no idea what to expect in Puerto Morelos. We got to the house around dinnertime and there were some families on the beach playing volleyball and enjoying some food and drink. The driver said "It's very crowded because Sunday is a popular beach day for Mexican families and it's Easter." I looked at the beach and let out a sigh of relief. If that was crowded, we were going to be very happy the rest of the week. And, we were.
So...the house: It truly has the best location! It's a bit more of a walk to town than we cared to do more than once or twice a day but we enjoyed it and it was a good tradeoff to have a section of beach that was largely empty. The street was not busy and we never felt unsafe, even at night. A cab would be at your service within a few minutes of calling when you didn't want to walk and was cheap. NO problem.
The house is as described and seen in the pics- perfect place to be able to be on the sand in a few steps. The shared pool was a great place to cool off and the kids loved it. My 8 year old could stand in all areas of the pool, so no diving or slides, but fun for them to play and great for relaxing.
The kitchen was GREAT and well-stocked with very nice appliances and a gas stove. We went to the grocery near the square the evenings before and got supplies for breakfasts at "home". We also had the nice maintenance man cut down some coconuts for us (tipped him to show our appreciation, of course), found some straws and stuck them in and had chilled, fresh coconut water in the mornings too! The air conditioning units worked well and we'd use them to cool the place down after the walk back from town. After the house cooled, you didn't need to keep them on (usually). The internet was spotty when we were there, through no fault of the home owners (it was a problem with the company, it seems). When it was working, it was zippy and useful. Cell service was excellent so buying a data plan was a great decision. The beds were all comfy- even my very picky husband was pleased. The kids loved the bunks and each bedroom had a bathroom- SO nice!"
