  • Really Nice Condo and Location

"We were here for a week over Christmas and loved the property, location and unit. The unit is well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. The balcony is good sized and provides a great view of the ocean. The overall property is well kept and has a very nice pool. Wifi is free throughout the property although we did notice it got a little slow as more people arrived. The location out of town but close to the small town of Puerto Morelos is great. I would recommend a car to make it easier to explore and get groceries. If you like snorkeling, I would recommend a drive to Akumal where you can snorkel off the town beach with sea turtles. Even though you have a beach at your doorstep, I would also recommend spending a day at the beach in Puerto Morelos just for the atmosphere. You are also within driving distance of Tulum and Coba if you want ruins. Although the condo can sleep up to six, I think more than four would feel a bit crowded. The property is best for couples who are not into nightlife and families. This is the second time we have visited this area and we would definitely recommend this property and unit. There are some condos a short walk down the beach but the Caribbean Reef villas are far superior."

  • Superb!

"We just returned from a week’s stay at Casa de Suenos in the 6-unit Sol y Luna condos. What a beautiful space – we loved the condo! It was immaculate and spacious, with tons of light and fresh breezes. The aqua and white décor enhances the beach-y feel. The pictures in the photos are really the way it is. You can see the ocean from the back balcony; furniture and beds are very comfortable. Karl is very responsive, and Ramon (manager who lives nearby) was also very responsive. The condo is located less than one block from the water. There is a beach bar/food establishment (Unico) that is only a few steps from the beach entrance. We rented chairs and umbrellas there and parked ourselves for hours, gazing at the water, swimming now and then, and reading. (The shrimp wraps from Unico are delicious!) We cooked a bit at the condo, but mostly ate out. Food in PM is fantastic! (and not expensive). While you are there, try to get to the Jungle Spa for a Mayan massage. We didn’t stay long enough for further adventures, but next time cenotes and snorkeling at the reef for sure! Also next time we will rent bikes to ride to town and back. The distance from the condo is walkable, but if we had had bikes we would have explored the side streets and beyond. We didn’t rent a car, but the taxi system is very organized and taxis are cheap, so we used them liberally. Puerto Morelos is a small, quiet town with super friendly people. We felt completely safe there. Our biggest problem, like a lot of other visitors to PM, was that we didn’t stay long enough!"

"this was our 4th stay @ palma real (1st stay in this unit). easily the best views in the entire complex. as a repeat visitor to palma real we knew what to expect & we were not disappointed. the condo unit itself has most everything you need. you will need to purchase condiments for cooking & extra toilet paper but that's about it. Gustavo the pool & maintenance guy continues to keep all areas clean. Carlos the property manager is a wealth of information & very helpful. the owner was very easy to deal with & answered any questions we had. on those days that you need to chill inside, the owner has provided Netflix which was wonderful as we needed a break from the sun & heat. complaints - no safe in the unit (so you may want to find a hiding place for valuables while you out). the unit advertises a dryer, however the dryer does not product hot air (only cool air) as there is no vent. we experienced the same situation in other units. neither of these complaints will discourage us from revisiting palma real."

  • A Fabulous Stay

"We stayed at Colleen and Nora's in April and having experienced the pleasure of staying in a private villa, I don't think I could stay at a hotel or condo again. It was wonderful to be able to hop into our own pool 4-5 times a day and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. La Palapa was spacious and clean. The outdoor shower was a delight and a little daring. The downstairs bedroom with air conditioning was perfect for my Aunt. The windows are all screened so the breeze blew through quite nicely. They stock the kitchen well and the 2 fridges were perfect for our beverages and oh ya, one for food too. Colleen and Nora were easy to get a hold of if we needed anything and Carmen and Carlos kept everything tidy and clean. Puerto Morelos itself is small and charming with a true Mexican feel and plenty of great restaurants when we weren't BBQing at the Palapa. The beach just a little bit north of town is gorgeous with white powdery sand. I don't want to recommend this place too highly though, because there might not be any availability the next time we come to Puerto Morelos. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us."
