  • Amazing Vacation

"My husband and I just spent a month at this lovely condo. What a great place the Caribbean Reef Villas is. The condo is very well equipped. Comes with all the basics, plus much to our delight, even a coffee grinder, and many other little extras. The unit is well maintained and very comfortable. Lovely ocean breezes. We rarely used the A/C, just slept with the windows open. Never grow tired of the sound of he waves. The balcony offers stunning sunrise views and again beautiful sunsets as is a corner unit. We had the pleasure of meeting Frank and Sherry the owners, who are just wonderful and very accommodating. They were very quick to respond to all my inquiries when I had any. As our flight arrived after midnight they made sure there were some basic staples in the fridge so we had snacks when we arrived. Also breakfast for the first morning. What GREAT service. Puerto Morleos is a small quiet and delightful little village. The condo is an easy walk into town. We did rent a car, but walked into town each night. Fresh fish is available every afternoon at the local fish market. We had some awesome dinners. All your basics are available in town or down the road in Colonial.Bikes can be rented and a really good way to get around. We have done that as well. If you are looking for nightlife, this isn't the place for you. You want peace and quite and relaxation, this place is for you. The pool and grounds are absolutely beautiful, well kept, the staff who maintains everything, are a delight. They are also willing to do anything for you. And of course it is right on a very quiet beach, what's not to like? This condo offers its own slice of paradise. We will be staying here again."

  • View from master bedroom left little incentive to get out of bed-spectular

"We recommend starting off your visit to Puerto Morelos by booking a walking tour with Ann for a local food shopping experience, to get some of the history of the pueblo, to get to know the locals and to help to support the economy of the other side of Puerto Morelos, la colonia. We loved Puerto Morelos and its gentle and smiling people. The taxi drivers were well aware of the published taxi fare rates and we had a lot of fun negotiating with them. We ate at many of the restaurants and found them all to be good. Visit the no name restauant on the beach a few properties north of Palma Real-fun and excellent fresh home made food. The views from the apt were awesome and the pool and patio and beach excellent. The apt was clean. It would have been helpful to have have found a few condiments (salt and pepper, etc.) We met several other renters who were helpful and friendly. Walking into the town square from the apt was a challenge to get through the port so after two attempts, we opted for a short and negotiated reasonable taxi fare ride. We had a very happy vacation."

  • Wonderful experience - marvelous house

"Our week long vacation at La Palapa was a unique experience! The house was spacious, clean and well equipped (lots of clean towels, fully equip’d kitchen etc). All the doors and windows had screens so we could leave them open all the time to enjoy the breeze. Sleeping upstairs in the palapa was delightful- huge tall roof with so much light. The house is situated on the edge of town and very peaceful, but still easy enough to get into town ($6 cab fare). Large private outdoor space with nice garden and pool, pool guy came twice during our week long stay. We enjoyed sitting out eating (and drinking) at the large table under the shade-sail, then jumping into the pool to cool off. We are both painters and found much inspiration around us, either sitting poolside or indoors to paint, and with so much space we could leave our equipment out. The town of Puerto Morelos is about 10 minutes by taxi, or a 20 minute walk along the beach. Locals are all friendly and helpful- our very limited Spanish was not a problem. Lots of choices to eat out, one restaurant even arranged a special private party on their rooftop palapa for us and a large group of friends. Colleen, the owner was wonderful- the booking process was so easy and she provided us with lots of advice and tips on what to do there. Her love for La Palapa, the town and its people was obvious and infectious. She went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back soon "

  • Relaxing Mayan Vacation Getaway

"Our vacation get-away was located near a very friendly community and Town Square offering live music/dance/flea markets/produce. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise off the Caribbean Sea, sail-by sea vessels, beach access, in-ground swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen and amenities, convenient USD>Peso conversion, nearby restaurants, a variety of wildlife by sky/land/sea, quiet location, beautiful landscape, lovely rooms equipped with bathrooms and balconies. Our favorite room was the screened-in porch equipped with BBQ, seating, hammocks and WIFI. Very Clean/Relaxing/Enjoyable! Highly recommended vacation spot!"
