"I did extensive research comparing different properties in the Playa del Carmen area and if you are looking for a two bedroom, the search is over. Just pray that your dates are available and book it!
The condo is beautiful and comfortable and the rooftop deck is unbeatable. We ate breakfast and had happy hours and watched thunderstorms roll in from under the palapa on the deck!
It's walking distance to everywhere you want to go. We did a day tour of Tulum and Coba and were able to walk to a pickup point. The beach nearby is beautiful and clean. Seriously, we cannot say enough good things about this place so I'll just move onto the owner and the manager.
The owner is so easy to work with and helpful. She was great at corresponding with us and gave great recommendations for eating out in the area (Cueva del Chango for breakfast and Como Como for "an unforgettable dinner" -- and dinner at Como Como lived up to the hype!)
The manager was always quick to respond to email for any questions we had and booked our transportation to and from the airport. Which worked out great! Just be sure to remind your driver to call the manager when you're on your way so she can meet you there when you arrive (ours forgot and we waited just 15 mins for her to arrive; not a big deal but avoidable).
If we get back to Playa we will absolutely stay here again and are already telling all of our family and friends to stay here as well."

"This is a great 3 bedroom,3.5 bathroom condo in an excellent location. It is clean and well kept with all the comforts of home. Internet, U.S. Phone, and fully equipped kitchen. Having coffee on your own balcony in the morning is priceless. The pool area is well kept and not overrun with people. There are umbrellas for shade and ladder access into the ocean for some great snorkeling. Marazul 401 is close enough to town for dinner or a run to the grocery store but far enough away that there is very little noise at night. I have stayed at a condo downtown and there have been nights that the band across the street in the park rattled pictures on the wall until 3 am. The washer and dryer were great to have and kept my needs for the week in a carryon that saves a half hour on arrival.
I rented a car and drove during the day to the other side and spent the day at Senor Iguanas and then made it back for a little pool time and the great sunset. At night I would step to the street and in a few minutes a taxi would take me where I asked for a few bucks. Parking in town is not worth messing with at night. Also Cozumel has Room Service Cozumel where you call and for very little they will deliver food to your door from any restaurant.
Not only will I stay here again but will make it my first choice."

"The apartment was great, extremely clean, we had all we needed and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The water system is an excellent feature. The convenient store across from the place was very helpful and the lady neighbor with the eatery is still there. We enjoyed her empanadas for breakfast one day.
Staying in Casita Maria/Akumal was an excellent choice. Staying away from the crowds and the “more commercial” area gave us the vacation feeling we were looking for. We enjoyed seeing the Iguanas, Hermit crabs, turtles nesting at night (twice). This was our first time snorkeling…and what a place to start!!! We were all in awe! We went to Xcacel (Stunning beach), Akumal Bay (twice), Chichen Itza, Rio Secreto and Xel-há. All great places.
We ate at La Buena Vida twice (five minutes walk from the apt, the food was great and our boys asked to go back after the first time); Oscar and Lalo (via Tulum - excellent food and excellent service); my son had what he thought was the best smoothie of his life at Turtle Bay Café and Bakery, and my husband and I had the best dinner at La Lunita (down the road, after Playa Caribe).
Sadly, Half Moon Bay was covered with Sargassum seaweed. Which from what we heard has been impacting all beaches from Cancun down to Tulum. The bay is not very appealing and the smell is very strong so very few people ventured to snorkeling or even swimming there.
Luckily for us, Xcacel and Akumal Bay waters were very clean. And Xel-ha and Rio Secreto had no issues with the seaweed. So, even though we were disappointed at first, our vacation was not greatly impacted by it. We still think those were the greatest beaches we had ever visited."
