  • Great Condo!

"Our family had a great time at Luna Encantada! This unit is better than the pics! The first afternoon-night was bumpy with really loud music and the loudest bass amplifier on the planet from Fusion next door for 12 hours straight. But I still give 4 stars because everything else was great! The onsite staff were very attentive and helpful. Looking forward to coming back!"

  • Casa Marlena

"This was about my fifth or sixth time to go to Isla Mujeres and I have been to many other parts of Mexico as well. The first time I went to Isla was nearly 20 years ago and the last time was about ten years ago. I was afraid that development had ruined the charm of the island but found that it still retains much of what I love about the place. I had always stayed in backpacker type hotels downtown but now I have a wife and two kids. When planning this trip I decided to try the south end of the island, fearing the development downtown. I knew I wanted to be next to the water, no road between. With 5 and 8 year old boys it also had to be child friendly. Not being extraordinarily rich, price was an issue as well. In terms of location Casa Marlena could not have been better. The view is constantly breathtaking, especially the sunrise. The kids had the pool to play in and we could scramble on the rocks and collect shells. It’s quiet and feels remote, but it takes only a few minutes to get to a store or restaurant. We rented a golf cart most of our stay. It’s perfect for exploring the island and allowing for spontaneity. The kids just loved riding in the cart. The taxis are also easy and convenient. We got a guide map from that I would highly recommend for finding interesting places to go and for great restaurant pointers. The owner and concierge were both extremely helpful and kind. The owner even quizzed me beforehand to make sure this was a good fit for us. She put our satisfaction above her desire to fill the vacancy. I really appreciated that. All said, this was a perfect fit for us. We will be back."

  • Hidden gem

"We used la Casita as a base for a cave diving holiday. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts. You can catch collectivos from the highway 200m away, but it's better to have a car. (You'll need a car to cart lots of drinking water from the supermarket in Puerto Aventuras.) Aside from some late-night music from about 200m away, it was quiet. Having a kitchen meant we could cook and avoid eating too many fattening restaurant meals. No washing machine. Would we stay here again? Yes!"
