  • Do yourself a favor and stay here

"I travel extensively, and have stayed in VRBO homes in many locations. This one was hard to beat. My wife and three of our children stayed here for 5 days in April. From the moment you walk through the front door, you are treated to an extraordinary view of lovely pool, framed by the beautiful Caribbean Sea perhaps 10 seconds walk from your sliding doors. We ate our meals (several prepared by the house manager Guille- a reason to visit in her own right) on the perfect table next to the pool and looking out at the Carribean. The pool and sitting area were shaded, which was perfect given the strength of the sun. We could snorkel from shore, and while not phenomenal, we did see a Manta Ray, some small fish, and nice coral formations. There were two kayaks at our disposal as well. One of the things we liked the most was the number of lovely locations to sit (or lay down) to take advantage of the view. We could hang by the pool, or outside our bedroom on the deck, or travel upstairs to the roof. There were three nice bedrooms with king, king and queen beds, and three futon couches that folded down to sleep a couple more in each, if needed. The kitchen was well equipped. Furnishings were comfortable, not extravagant, and perfect for a beach house. Wifi worked great, as did the sat tv, though we didn't use it. Perfect location 5 minutes from Akumal Bay, 10 minutes from Tulum, near all the X- parks, and an hour from Coba ruins, which we really enjoyed. I've stayed in some beautiful homes in St. John, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Cozumel, and the intimate view of this home was beyond compare. The owner Verna, was friendly and helpful, putting a cherry on our vacation sundae."

  • Healing Spa

"We just recently returned from a most relaxing and magical stay in Soliman Bay. We have been coming to the Bay for many years. This was our second visit to Casakoolba and we have already reserved again for next year. Word is getting out about how great this beach house is and high season gets booked early. The pictures just don't do it justice! Most of the other reviews have told the story better than I. I love the Bay for snorkeling, kayaking, just floating around in the crystal turquoise water, and walking to the north and south "points". I love Casakoolba for the expansive porch which is really an additional living and dining area, the folding doors that open the house up to nature and the ocean breezes, the main bedroom with its tall palapa ceiling, the wood floors, the shaded front yard (chit and coco palms) with a palapa by the water with hammocks and lounge chairs... Casakoolba is located at the north end of the bay which tends to have warmer and calmer water. There is a sandy path through the turtle grass, and lots of coral heads to investigate within easy snorkeling distance. Casakoolba is truly is the "House of Letting Go". The salty ocean breezes and the warm water are very soothing and cleansing. Massages by Lucia are very healing. The caretakers Manuel and Marta do an excellent job of caring for the property and guests comforts."

  • Family Vacation

"Wonderful vacation rental on the beach of Cozumel! Our family of 4 shared this house with another family of 4, we all had our own space with plenty of room. The kids ages 4-12 enjoyed the many hours spent in the pool, building sand castles on our own beach, collecting shells and playing around on noodles in the calm ocean. It was wonderful that anyone who needed an afternoon rest could go relax in their own space while the rest of the family could still enjoy the pool and ocean. Having a fully stocked kitchen, gas grill, as well as washer and drier is a major plus for families, it is very easy to go to the local shopping center for all your needs, we ate at the house for the majority of meals. Awesome vacation! Thanks Kathy and Jim!"

  • Perfect group vacation in paradise

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a group of 9 including 4 children ranging from 18 months to 13 years. Everyone had a wonderful time. Edgar and Nini were wonderful hosts and truly made us feel at home. (Ask Edgar to show you his paintings) I would highly recommend the meal option-- we had fresh squeezed orange juice daily, gourmet quality meals, fresh papaya, mango, pineapple. My wife even picked up some cooking tips from Edgar. We used Dive House for those who went diving and Dive Palancar for a snorkel glass bottom boat trip for the kids (which they loved-- saw nurse shark, turtle, sting ray, star fish, and lionfish). Both dive shops are right next to the house. The little kids loved the wading pool and were entertained by the resident iguanas. The wooden pier down to the water was great for a quick snorkel during the day and beautiful sunsets every night. The rooftop deck was also great for lounging (though the hammock was not working). We rented one car which was enough for supply runs into town, a trip to San Gervasio ruins, a drive along the east coast, and a visit to La Casa del Mojito in town for mojitos and cuban cigars. Everyone was sad to leave and already thinking of a return trip to Las Ventanas!"
