"We just returned from a week stay at Villa Carolina and had a blast! Perfect for our teens as the home is literally on the shore so adults could be in pool or home and still keep an eye on kids. Ocean water was clear, calm and warm. Jorge was a fabulous property manager and always available if we needed him. We would love to go back again!!"

  • Spacious, convenient and immaculately clean

"All VRBO owners should take note. This is how to manage your property. The owner was responsive from my first inquiry to my last notification before departure. He provided very detailed information about the property, the complex, transportation and the surrounding area. Another nice touch was his list of restaurants. The Villa was clean, organized, very spacious and fully equipped for my two week stay. The limited view from the den is far overshadowed by the wonderful pool areas that are maintained in an exemplary manner. Step from the pool area to the beach and that amazing turquoise water! The Villa is within walking distance to two malls, took the bus to downtown, and several restaurants are along the Blvd. The complex has a convenience store that is delightful and well stocked with daily necessities. Don't miss shopping there. Security was very evident at all times and the family atmosphere was delightful. Enjoy Cancun."

  • Complete Luxury

"The house is wonderful, set in a tranquil bay on the beach with your own private area. The house is spacious with a wonderful view of Akumal and the sea. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff that come in each day to look after your every need. They looked after us by cleaning the house and grooming the beach plus we had our very own tour guide from a man that lived in the area. You must read the reviews of the restaurants as we tried a few and a lot of thought has gone into the recommendations. Our kids loved the open water park near by and we loved the quiet!! I would recommend this house which is built from solid wood, marble and natural stone floors to anyone."

  • Secluded, beautiful home

"Overall we really loved this house and how secluded it was from the tourists of Mexico. Others have commented a lot on how beautiful the beach and house are and we all felt the same way. The house is probably most comfortable with 6 or less (we were 5). It is a beautifully designed building with large open bedrooms and great outdoor spaces. The palapa, hammocks and upstairs deck were our favorite hangout spots. The caretaker, Avila, that lives on the property was sweet and friendly (speaking spanish was a must) and even brought us coconuts to sip on the beach. Susan was very thoughtful and hooked us up with local organic eggs (from KM 5 farm stand discussed in the rental packet). She also also gave good recommendations on where to buy food, which sites to visit and roughly how long it takes to get places which proved useful. Because of the reef, the ocean had almost no chop, was extremely shallow out to 100 ft and would be safe for swimmers of any age. This also means that there was a lot of seaweed that naturally washes up and the water can be murkier in some spots. We had a little problem with the solar batteries but the caretakers and Susan handled the problem so we were never really without power. Mahahual is a cute town with a board walk and is really only busy when the cruise boats are in town. This location is perfect if you want to get out of tourist locations but be prepared for longer drives to site-seeing destinations. We wanted a place to relax for the week (ex: one of us was studying for the bar) and this quiet location was perfect for the seclusion we wanted."
