  • Pat and Jerry from Colorado

"Wow, our first impression as we walked into the room was a wall of windows that you could see all of Half Moon Bay! The place was comfortable, nicely decorated. We did not miss the TV- we enjoyed the movies. There was so much to do in the area: swim with the turtles, cenote Santa Cruz tour, snorkle with fish, happy hour at Buena Vida as we sat on the swings, (watched turtles swim there too) Sian Kian is a must see. Great experience! Thanks Dorien for sharing your paradise."

  • Best vacation ever!

"Had my 40th birthday at Hacienda Corazon! This vacation rental far exceeded my expectations. The property includes a game room complete with pool tables, TV room, massage room, free wi-fi and free calls to the U.S. We enjoyed parasailing, kayaking, and swimming with dolphins. The staff provided spectacular service. Especially our concierge Mimi. She escorted us to excursions, recommended great restaurants, and other tourist activities. The chef prepared amazing paella, lasagna, and desserts. You will be blown away by beauty, amenities, and service this property offers."

  • Casa Cascada offers so much more than just a beautiful home in Cozumel

"This was the 2nd time in three years that my wife and I have enjoyed the beautiful residence that is Casa Cascada. Aside from the beautiful home and pristine pool, the house is located in the perfect place... walking distance to the Chedrui (grocery store and theatre), downtown, and all the fun of the Corpus Christi neighborhood. We always rent a scooter to get around (as we like to travel to the other side of the island), but folks could easily do without a rental car using taxis (cheap!0 and walking. Excellent home, excellent vacation! Visit Las Tortugas restaurant, only a few blocks from the home! Tell Xavier we said hello!"

  • Great vacation home

"The house was perfect for our family vacation during Easter. Before we got there Michael made sure that all of our needs were met and also made sure he had our travel info for the airport pick up and drop off were there on time. It was a nice bonus not to worry about that, and to a whole van for our family. The bedrooms are large, and having personal AC in all the rooms were a bonus. This house is great for a large group, as it could sleep as many as 14 people. Scott was very helpful, he took us to the grocery store to stock up the 1st day and let us use his GPS for the days were we driving to Tulum (We rented a jeep from America Car rental for USD $75 a day and it included all insurance). If you want to explore, I would suggest Playa Delfines in Cancun, Tulum, cenotes in Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres. When we were there, they put in a new grill. My favorite part of the house was def the rooftop. I miss having our morning breakfast up there and our nightly get together hanging out on the hammocks. With all the stairs, I def got a much needed workout. My daughter(4 years old) loved the pool because there is a shallow section for her to stand in and play. The kitchen is large and provided us everything that we need to prepare breakfast and our lunches. For the one lazy day that we had at the house, we played games at the game table, watched DVDs that they had(has a variety of 50 or so DVDs), went to the pool, bbqed and enjoyed the breeze on the rooftop. The neighborhood is safe and gated. If you go by the gate entrance in the morning they feed the coatis bread and about 50 or more come out. One would def benefit from renting a car if you have kids or a large group. Use caution with young kids, because the rooftop has gaps and there are a lot of stairs. My daughter loved running around the rooftop and being on the hammocks, but we had to be on watch. I loved Isla Mujeres, and the ferry is so close and it only takes a 20 boat ride to get there."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.
