  • Nice week and change from the mega-resorts

"We spent a very nice week at Tres Palmeras - two families and five kids ages 6-16. The house is located on a developing stretch of land with other beach houses and a few inns/villas. The land is a bit further out so that the beach borders the reef/limestone break and is not swimmable - water shoes are a must! The breaking waves, breeze and view from the hammock are world-class. However, use the sea-kayak at your own risk. Getting out is OK but it is dangerous coming back in. The neighborhood has a cenote, a few restaurants and some security (but lock up anyway!). The house has just about everything you would need, including extra water shoes and some snorkle gear. We ran out of water once so heed the notices to conserve. The view from the rooftop at night is stunning if you happen to be there for either a full or a new moon! We rented a car so that gave us some freedom to explore Tulum and the other beaches and ruins. La Zebra, as recommended by Pam, is on a beautiful stretch of beach so good we went back. Paraiso Beach has more of a public beach feel and brings in cruise ship tours. The ruins at Coba and Tulum are nice (but get there as early as possible for Tulum - the ruins and view are nice but gets very crowded with tour buses by 10 AM.). Tulum is a nice town and we found a couple cheap but tasty taco stands. Better than the hoards at Cancun or Playa de Carmen. I took off one star as the house was a little rough around the edges as you would expect of any beach house due to the elements. We couldn't get the kitchen fan to work and a few of the exterior light fixtures were broken (including a recessed light that dangled precariously from a few feet of wire on the porch)."

  • Doug & family

"Having Carlos, from the property management meet us at the house when we arrived was a very nice touch. He showed us around the house and gave us suggestions, brochures and maps for shopping, restaurants, excursions, etc. We were blown away by the property from the moment we got there. The house was immaculate and incredible, from the large comfortable living room to the fully equipped chef's kitchen. The covered patio and the pool was such a bonus. .We loved having access to the beach at the Reef club and had the best massages ever from Alfonso. The city of Playa itself is great, a short walk from the house and extremely safe and friendly. Another bonus was the convenience of the taxi's, they took us to the grocery store and to any excursions we did while we were in Playa. We had a wonderful time at Casa Alegria and would come back in a heartbeat. Mark & Yvonne, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us."

  • Awesome..highly recommend

"Writing this review as we are sadly getting ready to leave paradise condominiums. One more sleep. Tracey and Wayne have a gem of a condo. Very clean and spacious just steps away from the beach. The booking process was very easy with lots of good recommendations. The beds are very comfortable. The maid came mid week and did a very thorough job cleaning the condo. The views are amazing and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Highly reccommend if you want a beautiful quite setting with a private beach. The sunsets are amazing. We are a family of four that loves diving and snorkeling. For scuba I highly recommend Scuba Tony. They picked us up on the beach and we had to wade out to waist deep water but it was easy. Their service is top notch. The snorkelling is very good and safe. Uvas next door is just steps away have a very nice lunch menu. Just walk over and tell them you are from paradise condos and they will not charge any entry fees. Getting groceries if you chose to eat in is easy and the Mega has pretty much everything your local grocery store would have. We did not rent a car and that was ok because we took a taxi into town for around $12 each way. It really was a wonderful vacation."

  • Absolute dream vacation!

"My girlfriend and I came to Casa Del Sol with great expectations of a vacation to remember. As we arrived in the gated courtyard and walk to the entrance way of our rental, when the door came open it was beyond my wildest imagination. I felt like I was celebrity on TV in those homes that you can only imagine being in. The most gorgeous accommodation you could ever imagine. We spent a week there and rode bicycles all over the little fishing village where people were so kind and hospitable. We dined at several local restaurants and had fresh fish from the ocean sautéed and cooked in the most perfect ways. Quaint Mexican restaurants served up some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. The home was equipped with thick beach towels, lovely linens every, bedroom has its own private bathroom. The housekeeper and groundsman came by every day to check to make sure everything was okay and even came back by in the evening to pull our chairs up from the beach. I have traveled and stayed in many beach houses and none of them could compare to this one. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have the most relaxing beautiful vacation! Thank you for the opportunity it was unforgettable!! Lisa Bowles"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
