  • Truly a little piece of paradise

"Bob and I were so pleased with our stay at Casita Paraiso and our adventures in the surrounding area. It was exactly what we wanted and needed! The neighborhood in which Casita Paraiso is located boasts an eclectic population of Mexican nationals and ex-pats. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. The house itself was clean, nicely appointed, and aesthetically pleasing...and air-conditioned! We loved the very private patio and spent a fair amount of time there when we were in our home-away-from home. The pictures on the website and facebook accurately depict the casita. Bob and I chose not to rent a car (unless we found we really needed one) and we didn't. We could get anywhere we wanted to go via the bikes, walking, colectivo, or bus. We prefer to melt into the local life when we vacation and we always felt very safe anytime of day or night we were out and about. Kathy and Mark were super helpful as was the property manager who resides in the neighborhood when we had a question or two. Kathy and Mark have put a lot of effort into compiling a book of local beaches, ruins, cenotes from various travel sites and interjected their own experiences and preferences which is helpful. While I think a car would be more convenient for carrying beach gear back and forth as well as storing valuables (like cameras) when at the beach, we managed just fine taking very minimal gear on the colectivo system. We loved the setting, the casita, the nearby pueblo of Chemuyil, the beach of Xcacel, the cenotes we visited, Tulum, the biosphere of Sian Ca'an, and Akumal. There is so much to do and see and so much of it is still unspoiled or undeveloped. I will definitely go back and I hope Kathy and Mark are still renting their lovely Casita Paraiso then!"

  • Complete Luxury

"The house is wonderful, set in a tranquil bay on the beach with your own private area. The house is spacious with a wonderful view of Akumal and the sea. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff that come in each day to look after your every need. They looked after us by cleaning the house and grooming the beach plus we had our very own tour guide from a man that lived in the area. You must read the reviews of the restaurants as we tried a few and a lot of thought has gone into the recommendations. Our kids loved the open water park near by and we loved the quiet!! I would recommend this house which is built from solid wood, marble and natural stone floors to anyone."

  • peaceful and beautiful condo and beach

"Our family of 4 stayed for 15 nights, two small girls and us. We loved the condo, which is nicely furnished, very comfortable and relaxing. Being in the first floor was ideal for us, since our girls could go out into the garden and pool by themselves or inside. The bedroom is big, and you never feel tight in a small place....you can watch the sea almost from every part of the place, too! the second bed is big and hidden so by day you have a whole living room for any activity you´d like. Also, Puerto Morelos is a quaint little town with lots of character, lots of locals and expats, you can buy really cheap fish from the fishermen´s cooperative or have a delicious italian pizza or argentian cut. There´s a great vibe in the town, and also so close to Can-cun, that you can always go there in case you need something more sofisticated. The area is paradise, with Tulum, Akumal, and all the cenotes....our family can´t wait to go back....! highly recommend this place!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
