  • Relaxing

"Our stay in this condo was incredible! We had a few toddlers with us and the condo was a great place to relax and wind down from a long day venturing around the beautiful Yucatan! The bedrooms were more than large enough for two adults and a playpen. Being in a gated community was comforting as well. The pool and pool area was so relaxing and beautiful. We spent many hours there. Can't wait to go back!"

  • Visiting in Cozumel, local style.

"Found IslaMar on VRBO while looking for a place to stay for 3 weeks. Was very pleased to find the property was just as advertised. The staff was waiting for me on my arrival at the front door. The pool area is incredible and I enjoyed it very much during my time there. Hummingbirds frequently seen, and there is a local bakery close by, so the smell of fretted baked bread was often tempting me while at the pool. Sherri gave me the one bedroom condo upstairs and it again, was just as advertised. I found everything I needed and including the small touches such as the hammock. The apartment was immaculate! If there was anything missing, Zuri was there to help. This is living "local style" which is what I was looking for, away from the tourist areas. I spent time walking about the area and did not have any problems whatsoever. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist area. Taxis, if needed, are plentiful, affordable, and reliable. There are small, local places to eat close to IslaMar where the food is very good, and affordable. Sherri has a helpful guide book detailing all the good restaurants broken down by location and price. I was very pleased with the choice of Cozumel and IslaMar. Sherri, I will be back !"

  • Slice of Paradise

"The location of this property is perfect. You are in a gated community with all the amenities you need and or want. You never have to leave-nor will you want to! That being said, you are close enough to consider exploring the many sights along the Mayan Riviera. There are plenty of activities to pick from. The condo is spotless and well maintained with a full equipped kitchen (and outside gas grill). The listing of this property is spot on. Everything you need for your vacation is there. We chose to dine one night in Playa del Carmen and while it was fun to see the "street vendors" we had far better meals in the PA community. Great eats and drinks at your front door, if you can ever pull yourself from the back door- with the pool and patio it can be hard to do. One evening we hired a local chef to come in and prepare us dinner at home. WOW what a treat. He did the shopping, cooking, serving, and cleaning. We only supplied the wine and you can get that in the center of PA at a local shop. This property can appeal to the laid back family or group and yet the more adventurous will have plenty to pick from with the ruins, cenotes, fishing, and theme/water parks all nearby. I would and have recommended this condo. We hope to return."

  • Amazing Stay!!

"The Condo was amazing. as usual when renting a condo for the first time, I was a little apprehensive, But as it turned out I had nothing to worry about. The condo has been updated since the pictures and it was very open and roomy. I cannot say enough great things about the roof top patio there is a complete cooking are ,outdoor shower, lounge chairs and bar. we took the blender upstairs made margarita's and grilled out , every night we were there. it is a quit neighborhood and you have a constant breeze on the roof at night. there is a shower and faucet on the roof we used to clean our diving gear every night. the pool in the courtyard was nice as well, ( although we never used it). kitchen was well stocked, and you are within 5 mintue drive to everything! Joe was very nice and was avalable to answer any questions we had. we will be back again!!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
