  • Wonderul House with Great Staff!

"We stayed at Casa Perro Feliz over the Christmas holiday with two other couples. The house was amazing and had the modern touches that you would want from a place if you are staying a week. Anne provided so much information to make our time in Tankah great. There are tons of activities right in the bay or a short drive into Tulum and the surrounding areas. We especially loved the Coba ruins as well as the restaurant that Anne recommended we try on the way home. Maria is a wonderful cook and we really took advantage of having her cook breakfast and dinner. We have stayed at a couple houses in the bay and this was by far the best! Be sure to bring swim shoes if you want to walk out into the water as it is a little rocky right on the beach. Overall we will LOVED the trip and are looking forward to coming back!"

  • Great house and great location. Perfect for our family!

"We rented this house for a family vacation with my sister and her partner, my parents and our one year old baby (7 including the baby). We chose it for its proximity to town and the beach and were not disappointed! Everything went smoothly, from pre-departure communication with David, the owner and the rental agency, to arrival to departure. The house was very spacious and well equipped. Great kitchen, I would just recommend getting some dishes that are microwave friendly (all are plastic, except the glasses) and some larger salad or mixing type bowls, but otherwise it had absolutely everything! We only had one problem when the gas ran out, but we called The rental agency and they sent people immediately! We found them very accessible by phone. The maid service very thorough. Wifi worked well. There are definitely two nicer rooms with the king beds, while the third room is a little plainer, but it was fine for us and would be good for kids. Air con everywhere, though we didn't need it as there was a "cold snap" during our visit. The communal pool was nice and quiet. The beach was close and lovely. The house is right by the gate to exit Playacar, so you are close to shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere, but you could also grab a taxi. We tried to avoid 5th ave as it was too touristy for us, but we found some great restaurants further up from the water. We rented a van twice, with no problems, and toured ruins and cenotes close to Tulum. Also easy to do a trip over to Cozumel for diving or snorkelling- recommended! The birds are noisy, though I didn't find it too bad at dawn, so sleeping was fine. There were other times in the day (feeding time?) when it got really loud, but it was ok. I would rent Casa Guacamaya again if coming back to Playa. Thanks again David!"

  • Awesome Location on the Beach!

"Just returned from a week at Hippie Bob's Paradise Condo! We stayed comfortably with six adults in the condo. The condo was very nice, nicely decorated, air conditioning kept us cool in the evenings for sleeping. The condo is just a few feet from a sandy beach and beautiful blue/turquoise ocean water for snorkeling. Very clean pool, was nice for cooling off. The grounds were kept up very well, beautiful flowers growing. It was peaceful and relaxing! Hippie Bob and Diana were very kind and helpful with questions we had. Thank you for a great stay!"

  • Family snorkeling trip to Cozumel

"Blended family of 4 + the mother-in-law, we were looking for a private home that would give each of us space to relax (with A/C) and all the amenities a hotel cannot offer. We definitely wanted a pool. Must have: walking distance to the ocean, a kitchen so we could have munchies. Extras we got, a pool table, bbq, outdoor shower, private tropical yard, wifi, gym, staff to cook and clean! We found Villa Las Uvas and were thrilled to see how much home we could get for the nightly rental fee. Private, beautiful and everything we needed for our trip. hope to return again- Alex & Steffanie F."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
