  • 50th Birthday Family Vacation

"What an amazing time my family had at Villa Sol Ha and Casa Cielo. There were 17 of us ranging from 5 months old to 60 years old and we had a very special week. We rented both homes and had plenty of room for all of us with room to spare. Both homes are more beautiful than the pictures and website described, very clean with fantastic A/C and the grounds were equally as spectacular. The caretakers onsite were always helpful and never intrusive and we enjoyed visiting with them each morning before starting our day. Our main activities were done right at the beach at the Villas... the water was amazing and we snorkeled every day right out front for as far as we could swim and the fish were fantastic. Note: we had 3 children under 4 years old and the beach and water were very very safe to have them in each day.. no waves or strong currents and plenty of sand for their little feet... We chartered a fishing boat that dropped off right at our beach as well as a ski boat that picked us up and took us wake boarding and tubing right out front. There was really no need to go anywhere else. About a mile walk up the beach/road is the Money Bar which is a very fun place to hang out in the afternoons if you feel the need to get out but otherwise just staying home and cooking and celebrating was all we really needed to do. Thank you Nick and family for allowing us to share your homes for a very special week. I will hope to return for another great vacation in Cozumel someday."

  • Our stay for a month

"We enjoyed very much the condo, well situated, near from Centro Maya for groceries store and Hospital. On the site two small restaurants very affordable and good. The pool was great with a great view on the golf course and very secure. But the only problem is to walk to the beach it is a 30 minutes walk but they provided 2 bicycles and with that it is 10 minutes from beach and you do your exercice every day. With the VIP card no problem to use the instalation of the hotel. Beach is great. You can walk very easily for downtown Playa del Carmen and restaurants half way from t the city. We will probably reserve for next year 2013. Jacques and Agathe Mont-Saint-Hilaire Quebec Canada"

  • Love this place!

"I have rented this condo several times over the past couple years and I keep coming back. It is a nice modern unit with everything you need. Being up on the 3rd & 4th floors gives it constant access to the tranquil Playa breeze coming off the ocean. If you've spent time in Playa de Carmen, you know how seductive that breeze is - especially in the warmer months. On lower floors, that it gets blocked by the buildings and trees. Having a fresh margarita while watching the sunset from the patio or rooftop deck are a highlight of my day. But, for me, the best thing about this unit is location, location, location. I love being right on 5th Street - but not just anywhere on 5th Street. Being on the north end of 5th is absolutely perfect. You feel completely connected to the sexy / chic energy of Playa without being bothered by it! If you've ever stayed further to the south and laid awake all night listening to the thumping bass of the night clubs and the loud-talking foot traffic, you know what I am saying. Down here at 30th, you are surrounded by fantastic restaurants, bars, coffee houses, shops - and by 12am, there is still great liveliness, but it's beautifully quiet. A+ The owner has been great to work with and there is a local property manager to call if you need something. I was really lucky to stumble on this place when I did and I hope to be able to return for years to come!"

  • Akumal - Casa Palapa Get-a-way

"Pio, Fernando, and Norma take excellent care of the Casa Palapa and provide terrific guidance on what to do and what not to do. Pio knows this area very well and is very personable and fun to talk with. Residents of Akumal know Pio and even called him for us when we made a visit to Akumal. Fernando and Norma are always smiling and making sure your stay is comfortable. We are able to find the great place to stay and enjoy the Mayan Riviera. Probably the best highlight for our family of 5, all the kids being teenagers, is that we got to enjoy the sea turtles coming to the beach to lay eggs and baby sea turtles hatch and run for the sea. Many critters to enjoy while here: Iguana’s, hermit crabs, sea turtles, and regular crabs. Within 20 minutes of this spot were the Tulum Ruins, Dos Ojos Cenote, Chedraui (store), Akumal, Gas stations, and a golf course. We told Pio our vacation was to just come relax and enjoy the sun and beach, and he let us do, but let me add that Pio offers deep sea fishing, snorkeling, and will help you with anything you want to do. As you follow the directions to Casa Palapa and you stop at Chedraui to stock up, just know that this store will take American money and have the best exchange rates (12.98 P : 1 USD). I am recommending this Casa Palapa to my family and friends. I would give this 4.5 stars but don’t have the option to, so I gave it a 4. I do this because of not being able to turn the lights off on the outside at night."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
