  • Just perfect!

"I rented this house for a quiet get-away with my 80-something mother, my brother and I - who all live in different locations in the US. We had an absolutely magnificent time. The house, beach and town are fabulous. The booking process was very easy, and we were greeted with wonderful hospitality. I cant say enough good things, we would definitely return."

  • Great getaway

"We stayed at Casa Sophia for a week in December 2014, and will return if we can. It's a unique experience in a a unique location. The house is comfortable and the beach is gorgeous and perfect for long walks. The views from the terraces are dazzling. The staff is absolutely lovely -- inobtrusive and yet always there when we needed them, or were just about to need them. Of course the flip side to the sense of being far from civilisation is that it is a bit of a hassle to get to civilisation when you want it (or even to get it to come to you). However, the road was in good shape during our visit and there are some fantastic places to eat just a few kilometres up the road, just outside of the reserve. The hotel next door has now closed, so going there for meals is no longer an option and expect to pay a surcharge for chef services or grocery deliveries, etc. but for us, this was well worth it just for being where we were."

  • Wonderful Stay

"This rental certainly deserves 5 stars. Its location is ideal, within walking distance from a large grocery store, the boardwalk, and one of the best restaurants on the island. The owners are personable and warm, and even helped us get to the ferry on time when we were running a bit late. The property and rooms are clean and well maintained. We will return, and will recommend Summer Place to our friends."

  • Incredible vacation!!

"I group of 12 friends stayed at Villa Sol y Luna for the first time. It was an incredible experience. The villa and grounds were beautiful. There was enough choices of activities and enough space to suit all of us. We were able to spend time on the beach, boogie board, kayak or just lounge in the hammocks. The food was awesome. Ismael and his crew created fantastic meals from fresh foods and there was not one thing that I didn't enjoy. We enjoyed the fresh coconuts that Pedro cut down for us and the cleaning and grounds crew kept the place neat and clean. We are already planning on returning next year!!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
