  • Wonderful Beach Retreat

"Love, love, love this property. We were a family of 13 including 5 children, ages 3-12. As mentioned previously, the location is wonderful - right in town a short walk from restaurants, convenience stores, shopping, etc. And yet, right on the beach with a beautiful pool. We were wondering how we were going to divvy up the bedrooms with 4 adult couples and the 5 children but it was really easy. Each adult couple had a private bedroom and attached bath. 4 of the children slept in the bedroom with the queen and king sized bed with attached bath, TV, and water cooler. My daughter and her husband slept in the bedroom which included a queen sized bed and a twin bed in which their 3-year old slept. It was great having a washer and dryer and nice beach towels. The kitchen is set up well for a family with toaster, blender, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot, gas stove and oven. There were plenty of kid-friendly cups and bowls. We ate most breakfasts and lunches in and went out for a few dinners and lunches. Lisa Troan did grocery shopping for us initially and we made about 3 additional trips via taxi to the newer, larger grocery store (taxi is only $2.50 each way). Lisa Troan fixed one dinner for the 13 of us - it was great being served a lovely salad and chicken and pasta main entre with asparagus. We also ate at Cantina Habernaro, La Sirena, Tacos.com, a place on the beach across from Pelicanos, Unico Beach Bar and Roy's beach bar. All very good except Unico which I would rate just okay. We preferred Roy's beach bar to Unico (I don't know if that is the official name but next beach bar down south of Unico). We listened to live music at night at Cantina Habernaro and La Sirena - great talent. We really enjoyed our nights out on the town. One or two of the adults would stay back with the kids who were always sleeping early wiped out from the sun and sand. There are pool and sand toys available for the kids which came in very handy. We used the kayak and the bikes which are also provided. The TV room downstairs with the library of DVD's was used most evenings after dinner by the kids while the adults watched a little TV prior to going out. Roberto, the property manager, and the caretaker couple were very courteous and helpful. Jerry and Meta, the owners, were an absolute dream to work with. We will be back to this house and in between family vacations, my husband and I will come back to Puerto Morelos. Love the town."

  • Amazing location overlooking Half Moon Bay

"The condo has a great floor plan that works wonders for people to gather, make dinner together and hang out. The condo was the perfect spot to experience 9 days of relaxation in Akumal and the surrounding Yucatan. The fully stocked kitchen made it super easy to cook meals if we didn't feel like going out, and the BBQ on the deck let us cook up some whole fish from a nearby supermarket. Every day the condo was cleaned from top to bottom, and made our stay that much more relaxing. I would highly recommend staying here, assuming it isn't already booked! The good places go fast!"

  • A great week at El Castllo Maya

"My family of 6 spent a very enjoyable week in December at El Castillo Maya. The house and property is exactly what the pictures on the web depicted. We enjoyed the pool area and the warm gulf breeze but the rooftop palapa was our favorite hideaway. We moved up a coffee maker and enjoyed seven glorious sunrises while sipping fresh coffee and enjoying breakfasts. The view of the island and gulf from the palapa is breathtaking. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining and living room area is roomy and comfortable. Carlos, the property manager was very friendly and spoke English very well. He was a great resource for finding the best restaurants, hangouts and things to do. Don’t miss the Soggy Peso! Taxi service was readily available only a half block away and was very reasonable. The Caribbean Quean in the uptown area was our favorite beach hangout offering free lounges, umbrellas with great beverage and food service. Thanks Bill and Kathy for a wonderful week at your beautiful island home."

  • Luxury Cancun Beachfront Condo

""Luxury Cancun Beachfront Condo" says it all and these photos are truly what this magnificent home looks like. What you read in the property description is absolutely the way it is. This condo is gorgeous inside and out. The furnishings are comfortable and modern. Everything is just as it should be. Any questions or concerns we had were immediately addressed by Gia and Roberto, the housekeepers/maintenance/"go-to" caretakers who kept our vacation home spotless. Additionally, Marty, the owner, checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. He truly wanted to make sure that we were enjoying our visit and everything was as we expected it to be. On our most recent trip as in the past, if there was any problem, he was on it right away. This is one of the reasons we keep coming back. We stayed here for a month before the property was renovated and it was wonderful then. Upon our recent return for a month-long vacation, we found it to be beyond wonderful. Villa Nizuc's staff is amazing. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the pool is crystal clear. If you wake with the sun, you'll see the groundskeepers raking the beach, skimming the pool and on their hands and knees tending to the lawn and topiary-like shrubs. When returning from a shopping trip, a staff member will rush to your door to help you carry your purchases into the condo. From hailing a taxi or bus (a real adventure, by the way) to inviting you to put the baby turtles into the sea in the evening, they cannot do enough for you. As far as security and safety goes, we were as comfortable as at home in the USA, if not more so. Within walking distance is the new Oxxo convenience store which we found very handy. Also very close is the superb Navios restaurant which is literally on the lagoon as the dining areas are on the dock. We will definitely return for our third stay."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
