  • Nice getaway! Allergy Free!! AND SEA TURTLES!!!!

"My husband and I spent a week here in July and found this condo at Cancun Plaza exactly as advertised. It is a studio, but they have maximized the space. The pool was comfortable, the ocean a few steps away and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus to go to town. Once we went to the store, using the microwave and hot plate, we were able to prepare breakfast and lunch in the condo every day to save money. The restaurant is OK (not great) in a pinch and there is a burger place across the street that is pretty good (shrimp fajitas were great). Late at night we were able to watch (quietly, in the dark, SEVERAL YARDS away, no flash photography AT ALL) Sea Turtles come up on land, drag themselves inland, bury themselves, lay eggs, dig out and crawl back into the sea (about a three hour process). It was amazing. There are two convenience stores for water and sodas and snacks. Carmen (the on site manager) was amazing and super responsive and helpful and the homeowners answered all of our questions right away. There is no smoking, feather pillows or pets allowed here so I did not have any allergy problems. I would just recommend bringing your own detergent if you are hyper-sensitive and will need to do laundry. All in all, great experience. Would recommend to anyone who does not mind being the only Americans on site (it was actually quite nice)."

  • Had a great Time!

"My wife and I stayed here for 9 days from Aug 6th-15th 2014 and really enjoyed it. Because it was the low season (45 degrees in the afternoon with humidity) there weren't many other people staying in the building and it was very quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for. The loungers at the beach were perfect for sitting and watching the sun set and for some shade during the day. The condo itself was perfect and could have easily slept 2 more people in the second bedroom. Hakki was great to deal with and the whole transaction was straightforward and easy through Paypal (even though we are in different countries). My wife and I loved Puerto Morelos and will definitely return here in the future."

  • Home away from home!

"My husband and I rented this unit for our two week vacation. During this time my family joined us for a week. We have rented condos before in PDC, however, this is the nicest unit we have ever had the opportunity of renting. This three bedroom/3 bathroom was perfect. The bedrooms each have their own bathroom, which our guests commented on how nice that was. The bedrooms are big, and comfortable! The living room is extremely well furnished, we like to relax in the evening and this living room was so comfy, beautiful leather furniture, large screen tv, and most important for us, a nice CD player, with pretty good sound. This kitchen is large, great for making dinners in and there is a bbq off the kitchen. When we arrived at noon, the lady was still cleaning the unit, and I have to admit, the unit was completely spotless when she was finished. She came back during our stay twice more and did an awesome job cleaning up. This is a unit that the owner clearly cares about and has taken care to hire excellent property management. So much pride in his unit...it really felt like our home while we were there. We did not want to leave, and when we go back again, we will make our stay longer. The owner was very accommodating to our many questions as was property management. The photos all though are accurate, does not really capture how big the unit is, the unit is larger than the pictures appear. We highly recommend this unit for a vacation in Playa del Carmen."

  • Great Digs!!!

"Just returned from a week with 6 of us. This was a wonderful place for all of us to stay. The 4 divers and 2 snorkelers were all pleased with the location and amenities. The view is unsurpassed and the deck is large enough for a bigger group. We all snorkeled out in front, some days it was great (eels, lionfish, puffers, trunk fish, etc.) and some days more sparse but so convenient. Pool area is beautiful as well. The owner and management were very responsive to our needs. One of the A/C units (yes, there are 3 A/C zones... :) ) went out and they had the compressor replaced as soon as was possible. Location was great as we did not want to rent a car. We could walk across the street to the grocery, easy walk to town and shops and restaurants. The only downside to the location is that it can be a little busy next door at the Cozumel Palace Hotel (but not too late) and we are north of the caleta (where most dive boats are located). So unless you get a dive company that will come and pick you up (and some will) you will need to taxi down to the caleta to grab your boat. That was about $9.00 each way for the taxi. We went with Tres Pelicanos Divers and just loved them!! Each member of our party said they would not change a thing about this rental. It really was fabulous and we felt very secure. Again...do not hesitate to rent this penthouse. The owner is responsive and so easy to work with."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
