  • Fantastic family vacation!

"This is our 13th family vacation to Mexico. It is our 9th trip to This area. This is absolutely the nicest place we have stayed in this area. In the past, we travelled as a large group with 6 young children which made the all-inclusive resorts a logical choice. However, as our children have matured, now 19 and 17, we have found that a condo more suits our needs. This condo is beautiful!! Everything that you need has been carefully selected by the owners. It is updated. Central air not wall units!! The beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of filtered water. Maid service is excellent. The concierge is pleasant and very helpful. I can't come up with a single negative. A few things I learned this trip. Reserve your taxi on line before your trip. It is now very controlled. You will also see more police officers and traffic guides. Pay in pesos because it will usually cheaper. That is not how it has been on our past trips. It's not a bad idea to rent a car. Avis, budget and hertz are just outside the security gates to your left. Previously we stayed on property because we had such a large group. We just used multiple taxis if we need to go someplace. Love this condo and we will be back soon!"

  • Amazing week at Casa Susana

"We stayed at Casa Susana from Feb 7-14, 2014. My wife and I have been to Mexico several times and had always done all inclusive resorts. We decided this year to rent a house on the recommendation of a friend. Casa Susana did not disappoint, the house is beautiful the pool is amazing and the walk to the beach is only a short walk. Your close to town so it's only a short walk. I travel a lot for work and I'm pretty picky when it comes to accommodations, this house is 5 star all the way, exactly as advertised."

  • Tulum is amazing

"We enjoyed 5 nights in irinas condo. She was a pleasure to deal with leading up to our arrival. Anything we needed or asked for was taken care of right away. The condo is in a great neighborhood with tons of local charm. The bikes were great for exploring the pueblo and finding amazing local food. Go off the beaten path, one day we basically ended up eating in a family's back yard while they taught their young daughter to read . The beaches in tulum are out of this world . The a/c kept is cool, a lot of hotels in tulum don't offer it so it was very nice. I can't say enough great things about this place , we will be back!"

  • Just like Paradise!

"We stayed the week of Thanksgiving, 2014, and had a great time. Rod arranged for us to stay in one of the other condo units, as his was already booked, but he was very helpful in helping out with the reservation and answered all my questions. We stayed in Units 403/404 and it was wonderful. The view was great and there was plenty of room (we took the kids, boy age 9 & girl age 11), 2 bedrooms (1 bedroom with a king bed and 1 bedroom with 2 double beds (small fridge in double bedroom), 2 baths, a small kitchen and living room. We went with 4 other friends as well who stayed in another unit. Rod's tips were very helpful and he was very accommodating. This was our 2nd trip to Isla, first trip we stayed at NautiBeach which is just down from Ixchel. I will have to say, in my opinion, the condo unit and amenities at Ixchel were more appealing. Ixchel is located just off of the main street where we enjoyed great food and shopping. The beach was wonderful and the view from the condo unit was great. (it was a bit breezy there for 2 of the days when we were there, some sort of storm came through and it got a little cool but still nice and enjoyable). We rented a golf cart for the entire stay, a must for at least a few days, if you want to see the whole island. The only suggestion with regards to this particular unit was the lack of having a small cooler available (from the reviews I read, Rod's units have one). We purchased a Styrofoam one from the grocery store and it worked okay. If you are a serious fisherman, I would strongly suggest you follow Rod's tips for a day out with "Pedro", that was the best day we had there by far. Rod provided information for him, but we actually meet up with him by chance at the restaurant by the docks when we arrived. The only thing I would recommend, if you get sea sick, be sure to take something. It was quite a bit rough and my daughter got a little sick, but when we got back to the bay where it was calm she was fine and we continued fishing. We caught some big fish (could have stayed longer if she hadn't gotten sick), fished for bait and had a great time. Once finished fishing, Pedro took us to the Beach Club where we spent some time while he prepared and cooked the food we caught. Best food of the trip. This was a wonderful vacation thanks to Rod. Would definitely recommend Rod to all, thanks Rod for making this a great trip, especially for the kids first "big" vacation!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
