  • A good place to stay

"We just returned from a week at Condo de Los Amigos. As everyone else has written, the condo is well appointed, maintained and tastefully decorated with local art. It's a quick 15 minute walk from the center of Puerto Morelos. The beach is just a hundred feet away. The condo owners provided helpful info on favorite restaurants as well as excursions. On our last morning-on our way to the airport! - we forgot 1 piece of luggage in the condo after we had already locked the condo and left the keys inside as instructed - there was a property management employee on site who quickly called for a key to be brought so that we could retrieve the luggage in a timely manner. The only (ever so slight) complaint about the unit would be that the showers can be a bit tricky maintaining the proper water temperature."

  • perfect

"just returned from a week in Playa del Carmen that was perfect. Friends stayed at El Faro last year so I knew I wanted to be at this location, and Reef 403 was amazing. Everything is exactly as you see in the photos and Tonya and her staff were great. They checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything and the one request we did have was taken care of immediately. I travel to Playa with a large group annually and will definitely be staying here again!!!"

  • Great holiday

"This was our first time in Mexico and we chose Nancy and Larry’s condo at the Solymar. What are great choice! Nancy was great in providing us with all the pertinent information to allow our stay to be a wonderful experience. The condo had all the amenities that we needed. The hotel is dated but very clean. As well, the personnel were so friendly, cheerful and helpful. We always felt safe. We love swimming in the ocean and found the beach area clean and well maintained. There is a lifeguard on duty all day. We can't say enough about the local bus service. It was inexpensive, reliable and provided easy acces to all the local attractions. We had a view of the ocean from our balcony to experience the sunrises and a nice patio where we watched the sunsets. I would definitely rent this unit again. Thank Nancy and Larry in making our first visit to Cancun memorable."

  • Fabulous location, superb residence in a great town!

"A superior location with a view of the ocean, one block from the beach, yet inside the city. Everything is walkable, yet location is on a quaint quiet street, so clubs don't disturb sleep (unless you wish to walk over and partake of the fun). Property is clean, fantastic layout, with access to pool, private jacuzzi, and so much more. Full kitchen makes living easy and various patios give you sun or shade, whichever you prefer. Rooftop is extra special with full outdoor kitchen, jacuzzi, sitting area and outdoor shower. Three bedrooms with three baths are more than enough for family, but layout doesn't make it seem cavernous for two. Loved the family room couches for kicking back, relaxing, with nearby terrace/patio big enough to enjoy breakfast and a bit of sunbathing. Everything is well taken care of and lovely. Property staff are helpful, kind and thoughtful. I was there in off season and property was quiet and very well kept. Club card with discounts at nearby restaurants was helpful, as was concierge in getting reservations or other assistance. Recommend very highly! Perfect vacation."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
