  • Lovely spot-- all made so easy!

"The condo was ideal for catching the breezes! The coast was quite windy while we were there and we opened all the windows and let the breezes keep us cool at night... The master bedroom has wonderful windows that allow the air to come right through-- we fell asleep listening to the waves crash and the palm trees rustle. In the mornings, the sunrise over the ocean greeted us from the bed. I couldn't have asked for more! Everything was very easy. Despite being on opposite sides of the world, working with the owner was very easy. And Roberto, the manager, was wonderful as well. I appreciate everything. We would love to return!"

  • Relaxing Mayan Vacation Getaway

"Our vacation get-away was located near a very friendly community and Town Square offering live music/dance/flea markets/produce. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise off the Caribbean Sea, sail-by sea vessels, beach access, in-ground swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen and amenities, convenient USD>Peso conversion, nearby restaurants, a variety of wildlife by sky/land/sea, quiet location, beautiful landscape, lovely rooms equipped with bathrooms and balconies. Our favorite room was the screened-in porch equipped with BBQ, seating, hammocks and WIFI. Very Clean/Relaxing/Enjoyable! Highly recommended vacation spot!"

  • Peaceful, comfortable condo with great beach facilities

"Spent 10 wonderful days in this condo- AC worked great.Plenty of hot water-just took a couple minutes to warm up. All appliances worked well. The Riviera Maya management team was very efficient. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Condo was clean and had wonderful breezes on roof top and balcony.Best part was the free access to Las Palapas Beach Club- the nicest section of beach in town! Large shady palapas and comfortable lounges. Great food and drinks available. Several nice pools on the grounds. Just a short walk thru jungle to beach. Will definitely return soon."

  • Just How A Vacation Should Be

"First, off, my wife's family is from Mérida, Yucatán, so going to the Riviera Maya is not really an adventure, any more than is visiting our Colorado Rockies from Denver. What we were looking for was a relaxing getaway. However, we had seven members of our family in our group, covering three generations, which can make relaxing difficult. We found Villa Italiano to be a delightful no-hassles alternative to the all-inclusive scene, at 1/3 the cost. It is large enough that the seven of us weren't falling all over each other, and were able to relax and enjoy. The location put us close enough to Tulum and Puerto Aventuras that visiting attractions and making grocery runs was no big deal. Akumal is withing hiking distance for those who want to enjoy the restaurants and attractions (wear shoes, there is some rock scrambling involved). We spent most of our time taking in the sun and the surf. Swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking were daily activities (well, relaxing with a cold one and a good book was up there, too). The beautiful property is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the necessities for cooking and serving. As to attractions, I visited the Tulum ruins when Playa del Carmen was a fishing village and the Mayan Riviera was virgin beach. Otherwise, that's a must-do--but in the morning before the heat and tourists arrive. Xel-Ha has been Disneyfied and priced to the point of ridiculousness. Yal-Ku Lagoon in Akumal is a much better choice. Also the Xel-Ha archaeological site is very close by. It is not a major site like Chichen-Itza or even Tulum, but it is interesting (if you are into Mayan culture), and rarely visited (we were the only party on site). The site boasts two cenotes for those who are inclined to take a swim and cool off--no extra charfe. So, if you want a frenetic vacation activity with all the food and drink you can possibly stomach, and all the activities you can cram into the time available, go somewhere else. If your idea of a vacation is kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying the ambiance of one of the most beautiful stretches of beach on the planet, this is a good place to do it. Highly recommended, and we will likely return."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
