  • Perfect place to stay!

"Could not have asked for a nicer place. Beautifully decorated, lots of room, directly on the beach (with a massage tent steps away :-) ). The beds are comfortable, everything in working order. Great location too! We walked everywhere except to tour the Ruins in Coba and Tulum. You are right next to a nightclub so if you are a light sleeper, I will be honest, this is not the place for you. But bring some white noise and you are good to go."

  • Fantastic condo, perfect location!

"From the very beginning Gordon was a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Our stay at his condo was nothing short of a perfect family vacation with our two grown kids. The condo was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. It made the perfect base for our trip and allowed us to make our own breakfasts and lunches. Our kids liked having their own separate bedroom if the needed time to themselves. The condo's pool was quiet and relaxing. But if a little more excitement was desired we could simply cross the street to the Reef Resort for the "resort" atmosphere. The beach there was absolutely spectacular. The location of the condo couldn't be more ideal. While we rented a car to drive to activities around the Yucatan, a car wouldn't be a must. The condo is on the peaceful main street of Playacar. And the busy, touristy Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen was only a 15 minute walk away. We went every night for dinner and shopping, staying until the wee hours of the morning several times. At no time did we feel uncomfortable or unsafe walking. We will definitely be going back to this condo the first chance we get. I would also rent one of Gordon's other properties in a heartbeat, as he helped to make this vacation memorable."

  • Family vacation

"My wife, my daughter, and I stayed at this condo for five nights. It was clean and very comfortable. Nice family pool of which we took full advantage. Literally one minute walk to the beach with that beautiful transparent blue-green Caribbean water. Less than a three or four minute walk to restaurants and stores. The staff was great- personable, friendly and helpful. And last, but not least, dealing with Perry was a pleasure. He was wquick to answer any questions and made the rental process easy. I highly recommend staying here."

  • House at HalfMoon Bay

"Very enjoyable week at Casa Tucan. We spent the prior week at a nearby location but wish we would've done both weeks at Casa Tucan. We had 2 families with room to spare. Anytime spent at the house was pool time for the kids. They loved the pool. Small corner stores a quick stroll away, 4 or 5 restaurants very close with more in nearby Akumal, great snorkeling in Half Moon Bay and Yalku Lagoon, all make this an easy vacation getaway. The water in Half Moon Bay is incredibly warm. Kids Loved it. Not on the beach but a very short stroll away. Lots of turtles and got to see the Giant Parrotfish feeding in Yalku Lagoon. Harmless but a little intimidating due to their size. Jorge, the property manager, is a great resource and quick to address any concerns. Very nice fellow. Quick to give directions and recommendations in an area filled with outdoor adventure and archeological treasures. We will tell our friends about Casa Tucan"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
