  • Perfect Vacation Home!

"There were 3 couples in our group enjoying our yearly vacation and the house was definitely the highlight of our trip! The photos and description are exactly representative of the property; it is spacious, comfortable, and exudes a very warm Mexican experience. The owners and property manager were professional, responsive and very easy to work with. We all felt safe during our time on Isla Mujeres; all of the people in town were friendly and accommodating. I am so pleased that we can highly recommend this home as a wonderful vacation spot for family and/or friends. Thank you very much!"

  • Perfect family vacation in a gorgeous home

"Our family spent Thanksgiving week at Casa Mariposa and had such a wonderful time. The house is stunning and the photos online depict the house very well. We were so happy with the accomodations and how nicely everything is kept. It is quite apparent that the owners take a lot of price in Casa Mariposa as the home is well maintained and the furnishings make you really feel pampered. The area is full of fun things to do. We all loved our morning dip in the pool that was larger than I was thinking and the fresh squeezed orange juice we had for the special breakfasts that were cooked for us each morning. We chose to have the Chef services for all but 2 nights of our stay and was one of our best decisions. The food is fine dining quality and the price is much better than going to a restaurant especially if you want to have a drink or wine. The spectacular view of the water is breath taking. We all spent time by the pool and enjoying our surroundings. It was so nice that the bedrooms were so large, everyone had enough space and more. Melodie is exceptional. She helped us make arrangements and answered our questions timely. We can't wait to go back to Casa Mariposa, next time for a longer stay than a week."

  • Loved our stay in Playa!

"My husband, daughter and I enjoyed such a relaxing week in this spacious, beachfront condo. The layout was perfect with two very large bedrooms and a full living room, dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beach. The unit was impeccably clean, and the cleaning service provided every 2 days was top notch. The rooftop patio was one of our favorite places to hang out at the end of each day, and such a treat to have our own private rooftop overlooking the beach. The beach out front was great, with lounge chairs ready and waiting each day. The pool was a tad bit on the small size, and when being used by multiple families with small children, it got a bit too noisy and way too crowded for our liking. The location right off 5th Ave was perfect! Shopping and restaurants galore, with so much to see and do, with a different food choice for each night. We did not rent a car, and didn't need one, with taxis at the ready at the top of the block to take you wherever you need. We were so sad to leave that we came home and rebooked for another week this summer. I was so pleasantly surprised by this condo and our wonderful week in Playa del Carmen!"

  • Beautiful, modern condo with a great view!

"My family of four rented this two bedroom/two bathroom condo in June 2014. The bedrooms and bathrooms have so much more space than hotels to unpack & store your items during your stay in their dresser drawers and closets. The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great, & it was nice having a safe in both of the bedrooms. The wonderful maids came daily & even washed our dirty dishes that we left in the sink. We left tips for them every day in an envelope. The kitchen has been beautifully remodeled. We bought groceries & beer from the Super Express nearby and enjoyed making breakfasts several times during our stay using the oven & stove. There were plenty of non-stick pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, plates, bowls, etc...The refrigerator/freezer was a good size for groceries. They had dish soap, sponges, & towels but we had to buy our own paper towels. We bought very affordable wine & liquor at a nearby place called Covie & enjoyed using their blender to make our frozen cocktails. We brought a collapsable rolling ice chest with us & would fill it up with our drinks & took it to the beach with us every day. The large, wrap-around balconey was gorgeous & had really nice patio furniture. They have trimmed some of the palm trees recently so you have a beautiful view of the beach and water! The pool was extremely warm in June but still enjoyable- its never crowded. North Beach in Isla Mujeres is BEAUTIFUL! I've never been to a beach where the water is so calm & clear (Stay in Cancun if you want waves) and you can walk out so far & still be able to stand. It does get crowded (especially on the weekends) but there is just so much ocean you can use because you can walk out so far that you can always find a great space to hang out. We brought floaties from home & spent hours floating & listening to music from the boats that would anchor nearby. There were always plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available but we would go down in the morning and tip the guy who would set up a spot for us in the front row. The waiters were attentive & we enjoyed ordering lunch from them during the day. We had some really good snorkeling by Mia Reef, rented paddle boards which was really fun & easy to do in the calm water, & rented a golf cart one day & explored the island! Every evening we would watch the most beautiful sunsets from the beach. We loved the authentic mexican-feel of Hidalgo St & all the restaurants that we tried. We would definitely stay here again!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option.
