  • Nice condo, beautiful view, reasonably priced

"My husband, 4 year-old son and I really enjoyed this condo. It's a good size and there's an air conditioning unit in each bedroom (although the control for the one in the master bedroom needs to be replaced as the display doesn't work) as well as the living room, which is a nice feature. The view from the living room and balcony is gorgeous. The bedrooms are located near the front door of the condo so neither has a view of the ocean but I think that might be a good thing since the ferry to Cozumel starts blaring it's horn around 6am. The grounds are well kept, the beach is beautiful and the sand is unbelievably soft, the pool is nice and the swim up bar serves good food at reasonable prices. The bartender, security guard and other wait staff were very friendly and helpful. There's rarely someone at the front desk so don't rely on an actual person being there to ask questions about where to go, etc. It's about a 10 minute walk along the beach or the road to 5th avenue which was really convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this unit."

  • Beautiful home, beautiful location

"We loved staying here! Everything you would need for a great stay was provided: a beautiful beach, tranquility, comfy beds, coconuts, and most important, no alarm clock! The ocean breeze swept through the house keeping temps perfect and the view from the rooftop deck made it hard to leave. The house felt very safe and the few neighbors in the area were friendly and helpful. We'd go back in a heartbeat!"

  • a little bit of paradise

"Our family really enjoyed our stay at Nicte Ha. The decor was beautiful, the ocean views were outstanding, the house was clean and well-stocked. The house felt secluded and quiet, just what we wanted in a vacation. Maria prepared a delicious dinner for us, and the house was always clean. Jose, the gardener, was SUPER! Friendly, helpful and a really nice guy. He rinsed our rental car every day. Having said that, future guests should be aware of a couple of things: (1) although the house description lists a washer and dryer, the laundry room is locked, with a sign that says the housekeeper will do the laundry for a charge. We were disappointed, as we had planned to do laundry our last day (Sunday), which was the maid's day off. Rather misleading in the description. (2) While the house IS beautiful, it is a bit frayed around the edges. Just a few little annoyances with non-working fans, lights, cracked tiles inside and outside. (3) CHECK the HOUSE KEYS before you leave the house locked. Only one key fit the front door, and we could never get the second front door to unlock with EITHER key. (4) I wouldn't bring young children here; the tiles inside and out are extremely slick when wet, and the stairs to the upper rooms are steep and slick as well. (5) On Thursday, we left our beach towels to be washed, but we didn't receive replacements until Saturday afternoon. (6) The wi-fi is not reliable, and is spotty upstairs. Plus, the instructions we were given to log in were not correct. Since we needed to be in touch with family in the States, this was a bit disconcerting. Would we stay here again? Probably. Just be aware of the hiccups."

  • Semana Santa (Easter 2015)

"I arrived for Semana Santa and was greeted by Kim the caretaker. He took care to make sure everyone in my party (including my two cats) were comfortable, and went above and beyond in these duties. He made the snorkeling and kayaking experiences easy and very enjoyable. We appreciate his generosity for the entire two week vacation afforded us at Casa del Sol, and Mio Maya. I was also available to assist Kim in greeting and caring for other vacationers during Semana Santa. By translating the occasional comment or advice in Spanish for two such parties, I was able to ascertain their complete satisfaction and was happy to pass on their excellent reviews as well. Thank you for a lovely vacation, with pristine snorkelling, and an adventure in the wild National Park of Mexico's south."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
