  • Well maintained Property, Can't beat the location.

"Stayed for 5 nights. Everything was perfect starting with the location and the views from the balcony. We ate all our dinners out on the outdoor dining table! The patio jacuzzi was a real blessing. There were only 2 things we would have improved on our experience. 1) the directions should make it more clear that the guards from the property entrance need to accompany you your first time in order to let you into the building. 2) the AC stopped working mysteriously on the 5th night. It was after we had all fallen asleep that we wove up in a sweat. We didn't call anyone as it was only a few hours till we had to catch a flight. Having said that, our stay overall was most pleasant. Carla was a real resource in giving us all the info we needed and hooking us up with local phones. We also got water delivered as per our needs."

  • Wonderful Condo! Quiet, Peaceful!

"PROS: Overall, you will not find a better place for your buck. Condo = Gorgeous! Marble floors, clean, updated rooms & showers & kitchen. The patio is huge and view is incredible! Windows are floor to ceiling and let in so much light. Maid that comes in does an impeccable job of cleaning...We were able to walk around without our shoes and no black feet. Kitchen is fully equipped, but the closest decent market is the Mega, which is a 10-minute drive south from the condo. The infinity pool is salt water and PERFECT temperature day and night. The little access to the ocean is amazing too! We spent everyday in the ocean and the water is SO clear that you can see tropical fish and some spotted stingray below you while you swim! As far as location, this is north of all the "fun & trendy" areas of the island. If you are a couple or a family looking to stay away from all of that and don't mind a taxi drive down to the main part of town, then this is the perfect place for you! The people are friendly, and it is absolutely safe to walk around at night. The cons: So back to location... I wasn't sure where to stay because it was my first time. Went with a group of gals for our 30th birthdays and although it is nice being away from downtown, it definitely sucked having to catch a cab everyday to go downtown and go to a bar or shop, etc. Most of the tours start at the pier downtown, so it just ended up being an additional cost for us. If we stayed closer, we could've just walked and saved a $10 cab fare one-way each time ($10-12 to get to Mega supermarket). One of the main bedrooms has an issue with the a/c vent. Two of the girls like their rooms warm, so it wasn't a problem, but beware...one of the rooms gets insanely hot while the rest of the condo stays cool. The building is old. We knew that and didnt have a problem. There was an issue with the sewage gases coming up from pipes, so if we didnt leave the windows open while we were out, the condo would smell like sewer when we got back (but hopefully it's fixed by now!). It was a bit difficult not having a concierge to talk to (the property manager was responsive via email, but u know how it is...always better to ask Q's in person). **Like i said, overall, great condo, beautiful room, and great value! *TIP: YOU MUST MUST do the Pirate Boat tour! Totally worth it, they keep feeding you cocktails, and it was a LOT of fun!"

  • Beautiful retreat in Playacar

"If you are looing for a "quiet" stay while in Playa, this is the place for you ! One of the most beautiful and comfortable stays we have stayed at in 27 trips ! This lovely home has everything you could ask for, private patio facing the golf course with your own "private" pool to state of the art kitchen complete with laundry room ( washer & dryer ). There is also available their car they will rent to you during your stay so you can live taxi hassle free. Casa manantial is in the gated community of Playacar with also another gated entrance to your property which is closely guarded 24 hrs a day. There are bicycles in the garage for your use as well as snorkel gear ! Master bedroom located on 2nd floor as well as 2 other bedrooms and 1 bedroom on 1st floor all with your own private bathroom. A BBQ grill is on the patio for your use in case you feel up for a grilling night out ! We LOVED the Manantial and would definitely LOVE to stay there again ! Being in Playacar is just a short walk to 5th Ave. in Playa or short drive, good parking lot ( and cheap ) right on 10th Ave. a block off of 5th ! Definitely make this a stay on your trip to Playa del Carmen ... you'll be glad you did !"

  • Paradise Found!

"My stay at Caribbean Reef Villas was absolutely wonderful! The condo was spacious and although there was only two of us staying, I can easily see a family or a pair of couples enjoying this condo together. There are two beds and two bathrooms (not counting the sleeper couch). Rooms both have a private entrance so this can be a really nice set up for couples wanting there privacy. The condo has a nicely equipped kitchen area, perfect for a cozy meal in. The most spectacular part of the condo, without a doubt is the beautiful ocean view! The balcony is perfect for dining, having a cocktail or just plain taking in the palm trees and serene ocean views. Wow! Balcony also over looks the beautiful pool! The pool is very large for this small condo complex and has plenty of lounge chairs to relax and take in the sun. The pool overlooks the oceans and is absolutely worth every dollar spent on this vacation. A small beach with palapas for shade and lounge chairs is just steps away from the pool area! This area is private and is great for a day on the beach or romantic evening. The location of the condo is close to town where you can enjoy dinner out or simply shop and take in the local culture. I would recommend renting a car and venturing out to all the beautiful sites just minutes away. All in all, I would recommend this condo for a romantic getaway or great family holiday!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
