  • Kickin' back in a Playa del Carmen condo

"After a week spent at Gordon's lovely condominium in early 2011, returning this year with our two adult children was a no-brainer. We second every positive statement the other reviewers have made about the place; it is indeed "clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated," as Blake and Kim observe. The kitchen, in particular, has all the necessary appliances for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which we did most of the time. Another special pleasure about the Chac Ha complex is to wake up in the morning listening to the calls of various tropical birds. Beats an alarm clock! Special mention is due Gordon's local administrator: Claudine Lecorre. A Frenchwoman who has lived in and around Playa del Carmen for twenty years, Claudine is highly knowledgeable and eager to help new guests settle in. On the evening we arrived, for example, she was there to greet us and also took us over to the local supermarket so we could get stocked up on groceries. During the rest of the stay, she was invariably quick to respond to requests. We truly believe that Claudine wanted us to have the best possible stay in Playa del Carmen and in Gordon's condominium - as happened thanks in no small parts to her efforts."

  • Magical Beach House in Paradise

"My husband and I rented Casa Costa Cristal for 4 nights in August 2014. The beach house is beautiful and the town of Mahahual is a welcome change from the busy over-developed tourist resorts in Mexico. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wanted to extended for a few more days, but unfortunately the house was rented. We live in Puerto Aventuras (near Playa Del Carmen) so it was about 3 hours drive on the Highway. Mary, the owner, gave us excellent directions and always answered my e-mails promptly and very friendly. Moises and his family seem very nice and they are taking very good care of the property. The house was spotless when we arrived. They were very kind and gave us some milk the first morning as we had forgotten to buy it. The property is beautifully designed and the location is ideal. The ocean breeze is delightful and we loved the privacy of the beach. It was wonderful being able to walk a few feet from the house and be in the stunning Caribbean Ocean. We brought our mountain bikes and the beach road was great for cycling into town. It took about 50 minutes and we enjoyed the scenery along the way. Mahahual town is also very bike friendly. There were no cruise ships in whilst we were there so the town was very quiet. There were some restaurants open but not many people around. We were very glad we chose to rent a beach home rather than stay in a hotel in town. Our visit was during ''rainy season’’ but we only had one stormy day, however this didn’t stop us from taking a dip in the ocean, and the lightening was very exciting to watch. The house is fully equipped with everything you need and the master bed is incredibly comfortable, something quite rare in Mexico! Internet connection was great. We didn’t use the TV but Sky channels were available. We can’t wait to return to Casa Costa Cristal and experience the magic again."

  • Amazing Condo!

"I went here with my family over the past Christmas break. It is right at the quiet end of 5th Ave but you can access everything within seconds. It was also two blocks away from the beach. The condo was equipt with everything someone needed such as beach chairs, towels, hair dryers, 2 Mexican phones, washer and dryer, TVs with english stations, and clean drinking water. The condo was also beautifully furnished with everything like new. Upon our arrival they kindly bought us beer, chips and salsa! The manager in NY, Erica, is a pleasure to deal with and is very knowledgeable and was full of information. The onsite manager, Angeles, was also very helpful and spoke English well. She told us about churches to go to for Christmas Day mass and must sees during our stay. She was always there when you needed her. We hope to go back to this lovely place in the near future. We will thoroughly recommend this condo to everyone we talk to!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
