"just returned from a week in Playa del Carmen that was perfect. Friends stayed at El Faro last year so I knew I wanted to be at this location, and Reef 403 was amazing. Everything is exactly as you see in the photos and Tonya and her staff were great. They checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything and the one request we did have was taken care of immediately. I travel to Playa with a large group annually and will definitely be staying here again!!!"

  • Fantastic home!

"This was our third year in a row spending Spring Break in Isla. Best spot yet. The pool was wonderful, the beds were comfy, the view was amazing. The house was nice and bright, too. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We look forward to returning!"

  • Tranquil oasis we can't wait to return to

"Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Gil, the owner was exceptional answering my 20+ questions and the property manager quickly rectified the brief issues we had with hot water heater and master A/C. The top floor condo with rooftop deck is large, clean and neat, and the location excellent. Great kitchen and comfy beds. We had just come from Playacar where we had 30 min walks to the beach. Here, it is a 3 minute walk to the beach and lagoon in front of the Catalonia, open to the public. Witnessed a wedding there one afternoon. We kayaked in the lagoon right out front, water calm enough for our 2 teens to go on their own. Lagoon connects to the aforementioned beach. Spectacular view, amazing sunsets, beautiful pool - the new covered BBQ and dining area is not pictured and is stunning, best outdoor space on the lagoon. Short walk to town, we didn't rent a car, took taxi to big grocery store on highway and hired a fishing boat for 1/2 day. Caught 2 mahi mahi. We also used this condo as base to visit Akumal - we took the collectivo and public bus safely on highway. We hope to return soon! Thank you!!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
