  • Amazing!

"This was the best vacation ever and it was due to this wonderful property. We have stayed at many VRBO locations in the U.S. and Europe and this was the cleanest property for sure. Everything was perfect! Location, quiet neighborhood and walking distance to everything. We strongly recommend this VRBO. Carla was wonderful to work with! Thank you and we plan to return."

  • Can't wait to go back!

"The accomodations were top of the line. The clean condo, pool area and the spacious kitchen were perfect for our big family. We are returning again this summer for our second stay. We can not wait to enjoy the proximity of the beach and the restaurants/shopping."

  • Perfect family condo

"We looooved our stay at this condo in Akumal. Our highlight _by far_ was seeing turtles hatch on the sand right in front of the condo. The owner was staying in town and she thankfully called our attention to the turtles hatching one morning. We stayed in late June/early July and there was turtle activity on the beach every night. We liked the location with sandy beach and proximity to restaurants. We enjoyed having the choice of beach or pool for swimming. We would highly recommend this condo. The owner and property manager were both helpful and easy to work with."

  • Outstanding vacation location and Home!

"We stayed here for two weeks in March and had an absolute fabulous time! The owner was extremely helpful prior to our departure with all the necessary information for our trip. The staff at the house were extremely courteous and helpful, and taking the advice of prior comments, we scheduled the cook for numerous meals (more the second week after we tasted how delicious her meals were!). Her Banana bread was absolutely fabulous! Her meals were better than we could be downtown and her afternoon snacks of guacamole and salsa (as well as the quesadilla) every day was some of the best we have ever had! I would definitely recommend this place and we will be coming back! The swimming pool was a real treat and the ocean fabulous. Sporting equipment was great and the housekeeping service was top notch!"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.
