  • A spectacular penthouse in a perfect location

"This apartment is the single northernmost habitation on the island. It overlooks the island's best beach. Look left, you see the coast of Cancun, look right, nothing until Cuba, look north, nothing until Mobile Alabama. It's nicely appointed, the Jacuzzi warms up quickly, everything works fine, the sunsets are glorious. I have two small quibbles: 1) for VRBOs, I expect more in the kitchen than coffee filters. Some salt and pepper and sugar and cooking oil and spices and ketchup and mustard and hot sauce, etc. You don't want to go out and buy those sort of staples and then only use them for a few days, they ought to be in the cabinets. 2) Not the owners' fault, but the hotel desk forces you to go through and initial an exhaustive set of restrictions upon checking in, most of which seemed to be aimed at frat boys on Spring Break. One of the reasons I choose FlipKey and VRBO is that it's NOT a hotel room. So, for example, when the hotel desk insists you initial a clause saying "no guests", it's freakin' offensive! We were only there for a few days, but if we'd stayed two weeks, of course we would have wanted to have some friends we made on the beach come by for cocktails on the beautiful deck!! If they mean "fratboys can't bring hookers up to their rooms", fine, but they really need to distinguish between hotel guests and VRBO clients renting from the owners. Still, these small annoyances aside, this is a fantastic property!"

  • Peaceful, comfortable condo with great beach facilities

"Spent 10 wonderful days in this condo- AC worked great.Plenty of hot water-just took a couple minutes to warm up. All appliances worked well. The Riviera Maya management team was very efficient. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Condo was clean and had wonderful breezes on roof top and balcony.Best part was the free access to Las Palapas Beach Club- the nicest section of beach in town! Large shady palapas and comfortable lounges. Great food and drinks available. Several nice pools on the grounds. Just a short walk thru jungle to beach. Will definitely return soon."

  • Paradise

"We stayed at this penthouse apartment for 2 weeks & were so delighted with it. I don't think the photographs do it justice. The views from the beautiful balcony were absolutely stunning & we spent many a night dining on the balcony just listening to the sound of the waves or Mario's ipod which had an amazing selection of music to suit all types ......just a little extra touch that was very much appreciated. The apartment is extremely well decorated & didn't lack anything the whole complex is kept in pristine condition & Leo & Arlen are always on hand to answer any questions. Mario was also extremely helpful when we had a problem & dealt with it immediately. We would recommend this place to anyone & hopefully will return one day. Puerto Morelos is a lovely little town peaceful & quiet with lots of lovely restaurants & beach bars. You are able to walk into town but it takes about 20 mins & you can get quite hot, so we hired bikes from the town which was great. This place proved to be exactly what we wanted a place to chill & relax & we certainly did that."

  • Relax in Cozumel

"My husband and I recently stayed at this amazing condo! The view was incredible and the water was right there when you step out of the living area. It was very clean and beautiful inside. The maids and grounds attendants did a wonderful job. Sara, the manager was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. She went over and beyond her duties in accommodating us. The owners were very helpful in preparing us for our stay. It was by far the most relaxing vacation ever. We can't wait to return."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available.
