  • Pat and Jerry from Colorado

"Wow, our first impression as we walked into the room was a wall of windows that you could see all of Half Moon Bay! The place was comfortable, nicely decorated. We did not miss the TV- we enjoyed the movies. There was so much to do in the area: swim with the turtles, cenote Santa Cruz tour, snorkle with fish, happy hour at Buena Vida as we sat on the swings, (watched turtles swim there too) Sian Kian is a must see. Great experience! Thanks Dorien for sharing your paradise."

  • Perfect location to see Playa Del Carmen

"Great location - just steps to family beach; you get local feel. About 5 blocks from one end of 5th ave. Shops and restaurants - What Playa is known for. Great condo - well equipped (except only 2 wine glasses). Amazing view!! from living room and master bedroom. Picture shows it well. Huge patio and they added new large BBQ. It wasn't very clear about some items they had - 4 beach chairs, 6 large beach towels, hair dryer. ALSO- When we came in, they had a welcome basket with snacks and info. Very thoughtful touch!!"

  • Couldn't have been any better!

"The Banyan Tree Mayakoba is one of those special places that you must venture out to. My Wife and I have been on some wonderful Caribbean vacations over the years but this one trumped them all. The hotel grounds are exquisite (and massive, we rode bikes all over the property)! The staff is as helpful and responsive as can be. We stayed at this villa with 2 other couples. While there is only one true master bedroom, the other 2 bedrooms are magnificent too and no one felt as though they got the worst room. We all had plenty of space for alone time and definitely did not feel as though we were on top of each other. The Beach is located right outside the villa and is steps away from the Sands beach club if you want hang out at a pool or with other people. The booking process was really great too. Susan from Playa Luxury Rentals was very responsive and answered all of our questions prior to arrival. Just do it!"

  • Terrific March Break Family Vacation!!!

"This was our first visit to Puerto Aventuras and Villa Del Mar and we enjoyed the condo tremendously! It is even nicer than the pictures suggest. Our family of 4 loved all of the space as it gave us plenty of room to stretch out. Everything you need in the kitchen to prepare a meal was there and I took advantage of the grocery delivery service from the property manager - very convenient. I also love the luxury of having a washer and dryer in the unit - a quick load of laundry every day meant that our suitcases coming home were full of clean clothes. The pool and grounds - wow! Two nice large pools and beautiful landscaping. We felt very safe here and it was great for our 2 kids (13 and 11) to go to the pool and the beach on their own. There are lots of chairs by the pool and the beach so no worry about not finding one even during busy season! The beach is gorgeous and there is a man made wall out front which provides a calm area in front of the complex for dipping. We ventured beyond the wall a bit and it still wasn't very deep but nice and sandy and refreshing. The people staying here were a mix of retirees and families - just a nice friendly atmosphere and quiet at night. The town itself is really cute - great to walk around and look into the shops. Our daughter did the dolphin swim and loved it. We didn't eat out too much but we did try Paparazzi Pizza (great!) and did go to Jesse's gelato for a treat a few times - which was a big hit. My husband and I ventured outside of the town gates for some tacos (Taco Paco is good but to be honest, there is a place right at the highway which is much better - just don't recall the name. 12 pesos for a taco and lots of locals eating there - a sure sign it is good!). There is also a nice big Chedruai grocery store just down the highway outside of the town gates (very walkable or a quick cab ride) to pick up more supplies. There is also a very popular fruit and vegetable market twice a week. Puerto Aventuras is in a nice central location to explore. We took the collectivo bus to Tulum to go see the ruins (go early - we did and we were so glad to be leaving when tour buses of tourists were arriving) and also to Playa for some souvenir shopping. Easy and very economical! There are tons of adventure parks in the immediate area - we didn't visit one this trip but plan to do that when we come back. The property manager was great to deal with - brought us water refills when needed and answered all of our"

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation

Visitors to Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals will find a huge variety of accommodation options available. Whether it is a spacious home in the heart of the city or a condo close to a quiet beach, you will find the perfect option. Rather than being bound to a room, these homes offer the space to relax and enjoy a welcoming environment. Homes are equipped with everything required to make a perfect vacation even better.
