"We vacationed at this condo for a adult family reunion. The condo was furnished beautifully, clean and fully stocked with all kitchen essentials and well maintained. The beach, pool and condo was oceanfront and beautiful. The condo was in walking distance to the town and we enjoyed many of the local restaurants away from 5th avenue. The staff of Xaman Ha was wonderful-both knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great experience and plan to return next year!"

"From our initial contact with the owners to Kelly's informative and welcoming greeting, our vacation was off to a great start. We enjoyed every aspect of this house and location: the overall design, comfortable beds, and well-supplied kitchen. It was pleasant to drink coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the covered rooftop deck. From there, we watched the antics of the iguanas on the neighbor's boundary walls and palm trees. We liked the neighborhood atmosphere, especially the little children playing across the street and the peacock that strutted on a nearby roof. We like to walk and found that we could walk to most every place we wanted to go, and everyone we encountered along the way was friendly. It is a very safe place. The few cabs we used were reasonable and efficient. We definitely want to stay here again and highly recommend the house/location to anyone."

"Just returned from my first visit to Isla Mujeres. We usually stay in a resort near Playa. We have been wanting to purchase a vacation home in Mexico and decided to forgo the large resort and try a new area. I am so glad we did! I loved the little island and loved Casa de Katy! The house was perfect, a great location, perfect for parking our golf cart inside the front gate. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer to dry wet clothes. The back yard was very private and nice for relaxing in. This was one of the best vacations I've ever had! Thank you Katy for providing such a lovely house!"

"This was our first Mexican vacation that wasn't in a resort. It was spring break with our 18 year old son, my lovely wife and his brother, whom we kidnapped from Iowa.
Amanecer Akumal proved a delightful, freeing experience for us. It felt not only more authentic but like you were living there for a moment instead of just vacationing.
The unit itself is loaded with Mexican charm: serious dark hard wood doors and accents, amazing tile work, a soaking tub in the master bedroom that's a hot tub sans jets, a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious dining/living room area.
But we especially enjoyed the common areas: a small pool (which has the kind of built-in stools you find in swim-up bars) on a downstairs patio, and a table with chairs on the rooftop patios, where we spent nights drinking Sols, watching the stars and getting to know our fascinating neighbors from Portland, Ore., Nick and Gail.
You don't need to rent a car. You can spend a week walking to Yal-Kul, Half Moon Bay or Akumal Bay (or renting bikes for $8 nearby) for the epic snorkeling. But I'm such an activities director (if it's Wednesday, it Chiichan Itza), a car proved invaluable.
Fernando (our groundskeeper and maintenance
guy) and Martha (our maid) couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
We may be done with the mega resorts. Better to really feel the experience of Mexico instead of being insulated from it."
