  • Amazing condo with beautiful views

"The condo, the property and the location all make for a perfect holiday. The condo is beautiful, spacious, spotless and very comfortable, especially for the one rainy day we had when we hung out in the living room and balcony all day. We had our breakfast every morning on the large, private balcony which has a wonderful ocean view. We spent a lot of time on this balcony in the mornings and evenings and soaked up the sea view, very relaxing . The grounds to the property are tropical and lush and situated directly on the beach, which has a terrific beach club (included in your stay) with very attentive staff. The condo is within easy walking distance to the supermarket for stocking up on snacks, the best shopping, restaurants and bars. We highly recommend staying in this condo, you'll love it."

  • Outstanding week!

"My wife and I have been vacationing in Playa at least once a year for eight years now. We started with AIs, moved on to boutique hotels and had been very happy at Playa Maya (down the beach from El Faro) for four years now. They are, however being renovated so we couldn't get in there this year - what a blessing in disguise. We found a few condos here on VRBO and all three of the couples in the group ranked Lorelie's as our #1 choice. After a couple helpful emails we booked it and couldn't wait for our trip. After a quick tour of the condo by the mgmt company we were officially on vacation! The condo was cleaned daily, linens changed once during the week, kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need. The condo itself is spacious, well decorated and beautiful. We spent a lot of time at night on the patio listening to the ocean and unfortunately the rain. It did rain every day we were there thanks to a slow moving tropical depression which would have made the trip much worse had we not been in the condo. I was off diving every day so the rain didn't bother me as much but for the non divers it was great to have the big living room area and patio to hang out between showers. The pool and beach were great, as were the massages next to the pool! Wickie's is unfortunately gone but with all the great places to eat near there, Zenzi right across 10th and the coolers in the room we never were wanting for pool/beach refreshment. (Take advantage of the 10% Zenzi discount cards from the front desk). We couldn't have asked for anything more and look forward to this being the new spot we stay on our annual trips!"

  • A special place we would love to call home!

"What a peaceful piece of paradise we found in Casa de Risa! The small community of Chan Chemuyil is wonderful, quiet, friendly and beautiful. We loved the Cenote around the corner and jungle walk to the beach. This house has the perfect set up. Larger inside than most and the enclosed front entrance gives a warm welcome. We enjoyed all the personal touches, décor, bed comforter, large bath and beach towels, Ice-packs & coolers etc. We even had a surprise guest! Such a nice place.... a scorpion moved in!!!! Easily caught and let loose in jungle. With that, we now had a good story to tell back home! The pool was super and the rooftop patio was our favorite place to have breakfast and just hang out with drinks! The outside shower was a nice luxury--liked it even better than the inside one. Oh! and to our surprise: daily we were visited by a family of Tucans that go from tree to tree on all sides of the villa! So spectacular. The kitchen was nicely stocked, we appreciated use of the spices, and left some of our own behind. We just wish the oven had been safe to use. Use of the laptop and especially the magic jack phone was an enormous help. Thank you for that. All in all, what a gem in the jungle we enjoyed for 2+ weeks at Casa de Risa. We would love to come back again and again!"

  • Beautiful Home!

"We arrived at Casa Alcazar in the early evening to a wonderful selection of Mexican snacks and beverages. It was truly a pleasure after a long flight. This home is perfect for family and friend get togethers. The furnishings and beautiful artwork was an unexpected treat. Our group of 6 had a most relaxing and private space to unwind in. Ulla was there to greet an give an awesome tour of the property and beach area. Teresa provided a wonderful authentic Mexican dinner one night, and Ruth did a spectacular job of housekeeping. We wandered the beach and town through the day and the town every evening, that we were not cooking on the lovely patio. Oscar did a splendid job of airport transfer and escorting a great day snorkeling and swimming. The rooftop patio was private, relaxing and with amazing views. We have been to Playa de Carmen before but never has anything felt so much like our own home. Thank you Bernie for a wonderful vacation spot, hope to be back soon."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.

Make Your Vacation Perfect with the Perfect Accommodation
