  • Perfect Week of Sun!

"We spent a week at condo and loved it! It was my husband and I and our 2 teenage daughters. The condo had everything we needed, with everything working and in good condition. We absolutely loved the vicinity to the beach and morning coffee looking out at the ocean. Because my daughter had a knee injury 2 weeks before our planned vacation, she was in a knee brace and crutches. This limited our excursions, so we spent a lot of time at the condo, pools and beach. Not only was the property clean and tidy, but we felt completely safe and well taken care of. I did not hear any negative reports from any of the other guests, who were staying at various condos throughout the property. There were families with babies, teenagers and retired couples. A mixture of very nice people. We did not rent a car except for one day that we rented a jeep and drove around the island. We have always used just taxis for Mexico, but when we return, we will definitely rent a car for the entire stay. The taxi cab generally ran about $15USD each way between town and the condo. And about $25USD each way to the airport and back. The driving seemed more reasonable on the island than other places we've been in Mexico and I think we would be perfectly comfortable driving there. There are two big grocery stores in town and it was easy to find food and items that we were familiar with. The grocery store gives you the option of paying with USD, Pesos or credit card. Down the beach is Carlos and Charlies and a couple other Beach Clubs. Our first visit was on a Sunday (no cruise ships) and it was rather quiet and we had excellent service. When we returned later in the week, when cruise ships were in town and during spring break, it was quite different! It was fun to people-watch but a bit crazy too! It was a fun atmosphere, good lunch and just steps from condo. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better location. We prefer quiet to crowds and we were not disappointed. The condo was lovely and the beach was stunning! Again, when we stay again, we will rent a car to add to the flexibility and hopefully no crutches!! Thank you Fulvio for all your help!!"

  • Perfect for Us!

"From our initial contact with the owners to Kelly's informative and welcoming greeting, our vacation was off to a great start. We enjoyed every aspect of this house and location: the overall design, comfortable beds, and well-supplied kitchen. It was pleasant to drink coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the covered rooftop deck. From there, we watched the antics of the iguanas on the neighbor's boundary walls and palm trees. We liked the neighborhood atmosphere, especially the little children playing across the street and the peacock that strutted on a nearby roof. We like to walk and found that we could walk to most every place we wanted to go, and everyone we encountered along the way was friendly. It is a very safe place. The few cabs we used were reasonable and efficient. We definitely want to stay here again and highly recommend the house/location to anyone."

  • Walls-Villa Alegria

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The staff and accommodations, far exceeded expectations. House was clean, nice, and the location was great. Only critique I would offer is that the air conditioner in the master bedroom has a very loud humming / rattling that would remain for most of the time when we were sleeping. But overall, we had an amazing time, and the staff both in the states as well as Mexico were fantastic. Thank you."

  • Too Brief A Stay At Casa Trahan

"We had but 4 nights at this luxury condo with our daughter, son-in-law and two teen grandsons. We were delighted! Beautifully furnished and fully equipped, this spotless property is managed by the group also responsible for condos at Residencias Reef where we've also stayed. A few tiny issues were corrected same day (a toaster and shower handle). A new dishwasher is being installed soon. My wife and I stayed in the road-facing 3rd BR and our love for open windows and ceiling fan exposed us to road noise. An avoidable issue had we opted instead for AC. Our other four slept like babies in their sea-facing rooms. We opted to rent a Surburban to tool around the island, a bargain through LessPay's used rental vehicle operation, our second experience. This is an excellent property! Snorkeling and drifting off the property was our best ever, yards from the coral encrusted wall of the shore, then walking back barefooted from beaches just north."

Quintana Roo Travel Tips

Quintana Roo has Perfect Beaches and Much More

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is on the eastern part of Yucatán Peninsula. It is home to some of the best vacation areas in the country. Some visitors come seeking activity all day and dancing all night; others come for the tranquility of large beaches and warm seas. While the capital city of Quintana Roo is Chetumal, the state also includes Cancún, the islands of Cozumel, Isla Mujheres, and towns such as Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Playa del Carmen. Other places to visit are Puerto Juárez, Akumal, and Puerto Morelos. Remnants of the ancient Mayan civilization abound here, such as at Chaccbhoben, Coba, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret. And that is just a few! This is a large area, great for mixing relaxing on the beach with some water sports thrown in and day trips in an array of beautiful towns and ancient ruins.

Being geared to tourism, Quintana Roo is easy to explore and most people coming here take advantage of the many options to get around the area. Most choose to arrive via Cancún International Airport and many take a rental car option for maximum freedom to explore. Many choose Quintana Roo Mexico vacation rentals for the same reasons.

Beaches, Water Sports and Theme Parks Galore

Cancún, known as the Mexican Caribbean, sits on the Yucatán Channel and is a world-famous tourist location. Visitors here will enjoy some of the best beaches in the world with an exceptional amount of water sports, such as diving, swimming with dolphins and deep sea fishing. A short ferry ride takes visitors to the beautiful Isla Mujeres and one of the many attractions here is the incredible seafood! The island is a favorite for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving on the many coral reefs. Another major attraction here is the facility for the rescue and breeding of sea turtles. Cancún has great shopping and a variety of theme parks, such as Xplor, Xcaret Eco Park and Xel-Ha.

For those who find the lure of exploration, the Riviera Maya will be a great experience. People come here for the archaeological sites, such as Coba and Tulum.

The town of Bacalar sits on a lagoon of the same name. This beautiful town dates from the 16th century and has a fascinating history of piracy. The 17th-century Fortress de San Felipe Bacalar is now a wonderful tourist attraction.

Those seeking quieter Quintana Roo Mexico resorts have many options to choose from. Puerto Morelos, with its mangrove swamp, or Akumal, meaning "place of the turtles" would make great options. There are many smaller resorts that are less crowded but with equally wonderful beaches and shopping. They are also within close proximity to larger towns for more lively activities.

Archaeological Sites to See

No visit to Quintana Roo Mexico condos is complete without exploring some of the incredible ancient sites in this region. Visitors will enjoy heading into the jungle to visit these sites. Bonampak is famous for its graphic murals of human sacrifice! Kohunlich, Dzibanche and Oxtankah are famous for the lush jungle, exotic birds and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit to Tulum, the "Walled City" where the beach is next to the site. Visitors can view the Fresco remnants before heading for a swim. Accessible by river via long boats is Yaxchilan. Deep in the Chiapas jungle, this site includes several Mayan ruins and is well worth a visit.
