  • Very nice!

"We stayed with my father. We have 3 kids, 8, 13, 14. It was a very nice place to stay with the owners being very friendly! The pool is very nice to cool off in if you don't want to run the 60 feet to the ocean. The ocean in front is very sandy and shelly so I would recommend wearing water shoes if planning on going in the water. You can walk a fair distance out because of the many sand bars making hills and valleys. You will not be able to see anything at all if you plan on snorkeling. The sunrise and sunset are both very beautiful and taking long walks on the beach is very relaxing as there are not many people around. I made friends with a yellow lab cross and she would come out with me every morning for a long walk. The town is very nice and laundry services are there. Bodega (grocery store) is also in town. If you need anything else, Merida has a Costco, Walmart, Sams club, etc. It has everything that a city should. We rented a car from Fox Rental in Cancun and drove out to the house. We arranged for the rental beforehand through Amex and when we went to pick it up, we were told that we had to buy insurance too. $50 doesn't sound too bad, until they tell you that is per day. We allowed them to put a hold on the credit card and then called the credit card company the next day to cancel the hold. I drove all the time and the only time I got frustrated was in Merida due to the high volume of traffic with narrow streets. There are also many roundabouts in Merida. If you have a good map it wouldn't be so bad. The owners of the house were extremely kind and really helped me out as we arrived later than my father. I appreciate everything they did for us and the only reason I would not recommend this, is so that it doesn't get too popular for us to reserve it again! There are many Mayan ruins around with one being 50 kms away. Lots to do and we did an overnight trip to the mayan Riviera side as well! My father is legally blind and the owners went out of their way to make sure he got to the house alright and to make sure I was notified when he got there! Thank you very much Wilma and Freddie. You have a beautiful property and we look forward to coming again!"

  • Autentico Mexcio

  • Perfect Vacation House

"The house is nice and spacious. We stayed for 2 weeks. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was great for watching movies. We enjoyed eating meals in the patio; it allowed our children to eat quickly and jump back in the pool or go to the beach. A wall divides the patio and the pool from the neighbors house which makes it a perfect size for the kids to swim and provides privacy. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The main bedroom has a nice balcony with a great ocean view (perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set). We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely rent this house in the future. :)"

  • beautifull house in marvelous village. Maison fantastique

"We've been there 2 families with kids from 2 to 11. The house is big and everything you might need inside. Good beds, very clean and convenient. The house is exactly like shown. We had stormy weather and even in those conditions, we all loved the place. I can't tell how the village is, because it's something so unusual that you need to be in the place to understand : it seems time stopped there 50 years ago ! We'll come back for sure. SUPERBE MAISON !

Yucatan Travel Tips

A Mixture of Ancient and Modern at Yucatan Vacation Rentals

With its international airport at Cancun and excellent road system, the Yucatan Peninsula is rapidly becoming a well established vacation area. This area is now a great mixture of the ancient and modern. Yucatan condos are in the heart of everything needed for a great vacation; there are sun, sand, sea and plenty to do and explore. Yucatan's location on the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea means year-round great weather. It is one of those places that everyone should visit, at least once.

Fabulous Beaches and Fascinating History at Yucatan Vacation Houses

The major city of Cancun is well known as a laid-back destination, favored by those who love an active nightlife with plenty of restaurants, discos, and malls. Cozumel, the largest island here, is a haven for those who love nature. It is a paradise for snorkelers and scuba divers. The romantics will love its history as the home of the Goddess of Love and Fertility, Ixchel. It is also widely known as a great area for those on a budget. Tulum sits on the seafront facing the Caribbean and is famous for the walled Mayan fortress. These days, however, Tulum welcomes visitors to its beautiful beaches. The once sleepy coastal town of Playa del Carmen is still a hidden treasure. This is a great area for Yucatan vacation houses right on the beach. For those interested in how Mexico balances tourism with caring for the environment, take one of the many eco-tours and visit the nature reserves at Celestum, Sian Ka’an and Rio Lagartios.

The Capital city of the Yucatan Peninsula is Merida, at the northern end. It is an historic, tropical city and home to the oldest cathedral on the continent, dating from 1561. Medina is a great place to pick up souvenirs and gifts with local craftwork available, such as hammocks, Panama hats, fine gold jewelry, locally made pottery and more. As would be expected of a capital city, it has a wealth of great restaurants and excellent nightlife. Inland from here are the ruins of Uxmal, described as "too beautiful to behold." The ruins include the impressive Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery and the stunning five-acre Palace of the Governor. Between Merida and Cancun is the grandeur of the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. Here, the El Castillo pyramid dominates with the remains of its ancient temple. Visitors here can enter the pyramid and the more energetic can even climb its historic steps.

Explore Around and Under the Water Near Yucatan Condos

Many visitors to Yucatan condos come for the weather and the wonderful beaches. The internationally renowned beach at Isla Cozumel is perfect for snorkelers and divers, with its stunning coral reefs, incredible sea life and excellent visibility.

Visitors to Yucatan vacation rentals can also explore the mainland area with the longest underground river system in the world. Here, you will find clean, clear water and impressive caves. The area also attracts bird-watchers from around the world. The wetlands area to the north from Celestum to Isla Holbox are home to huge flocks of flamingo, egrets, cormorants, herons, pelicans and other varieties of bird. Wildlife lovers will enjoy a trip to Campeche State, home to spider and howler monkeys, mysterious jaguars and even mountain lions.

Pick From Traditional Mexican, Ultra Modern or Anything in Between

Yucatan vacation houses come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are 200 years old, brightly colored, traditionally Mexican homes. Some have a rooftop terrace. Here, whatever your requirement, a perfect property awaits.
