  • Awesome place!

"Spacious and charming, the pictures can only hint at what a nice place it is. Spotlessly clean; nicely furnished with everything we could have wanted. All of the furniture is much nicer quality than usually seen in rental places; high quality beds & linens, hammocks are also provided if you prefer. The kitchen is also very well equipped, or you can walk a few blocks to a selection of restaurants The caretaker lives on property (in a separate house), and was attentive & helpful without being intrusive. All in all, a wonderful place to spend some time at the beach."

  • Very nice!

"We stayed with my father. We have 3 kids, 8, 13, 14. It was a very nice place to stay with the owners being very friendly! The pool is very nice to cool off in if you don't want to run the 60 feet to the ocean. The ocean in front is very sandy and shelly so I would recommend wearing water shoes if planning on going in the water. You can walk a fair distance out because of the many sand bars making hills and valleys. You will not be able to see anything at all if you plan on snorkeling. The sunrise and sunset are both very beautiful and taking long walks on the beach is very relaxing as there are not many people around. I made friends with a yellow lab cross and she would come out with me every morning for a long walk. The town is very nice and laundry services are there. Bodega (grocery store) is also in town. If you need anything else, Merida has a Costco, Walmart, Sams club, etc. It has everything that a city should. We rented a car from Fox Rental in Cancun and drove out to the house. We arranged for the rental beforehand through Amex and when we went to pick it up, we were told that we had to buy insurance too. $50 doesn't sound too bad, until they tell you that is per day. We allowed them to put a hold on the credit card and then called the credit card company the next day to cancel the hold. I drove all the time and the only time I got frustrated was in Merida due to the high volume of traffic with narrow streets. There are also many roundabouts in Merida. If you have a good map it wouldn't be so bad. The owners of the house were extremely kind and really helped me out as we arrived later than my father. I appreciate everything they did for us and the only reason I would not recommend this, is so that it doesn't get too popular for us to reserve it again! There are many Mayan ruins around with one being 50 kms away. Lots to do and we did an overnight trip to the mayan Riviera side as well! My father is legally blind and the owners went out of their way to make sure he got to the house alright and to make sure I was notified when he got there! Thank you very much Wilma and Freddie. You have a beautiful property and we look forward to coming again!"

  • Perfect Vacation House

"The house is nice and spacious. We stayed for 2 weeks. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was great for watching movies. We enjoyed eating meals in the patio; it allowed our children to eat quickly and jump back in the pool or go to the beach. A wall divides the patio and the pool from the neighbors house which makes it a perfect size for the kids to swim and provides privacy. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The main bedroom has a nice balcony with a great ocean view (perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set). We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely rent this house in the future. :)"

  • Great Villa in Great Location

"The villa was just like pictured on VRBO no surprises. The Wi-Fi was excellent. There is no central air but we didn't need it. The house was designed with air flow in mind and it was great. The Gonzalo and Olivia the caretakers were always on hand to help with whatever was needed. The owner Ana Patricia was amazing!! She went above and beyond for us, a little mishap with arrival times. She picked us up and took us shopping before going to the villa what a plus. she speaks excellent English and was so informative. The bottle of wine was such a nice added touch when we arrived. About Chicxulub. It is a small fishing village and when you read on trip advisor and else where that little English is spoken in the area they are not kidding. But we knew just enough to get by. The locals were so nice and always tried their best to help us. There was not a lot going on in the evenings. No bars or restaurant were open in the evenings and very few during the day. But it was a short ride to Progresso for those evening outings. If you are just wanting a very quiet, relaxing vacation this place is for you. We had a great time and would recommend to friends. Thanks Ana Patricia for sharing your home with us."

Chicxulub Travel Tips

See the Home of Cataclysm from Chicxulub Vacation Rentals

Long ago, there were dinosaurs on the earth. Then, a rock fell out of the sky and killed them. That rock landed in what is now Chicxulub, Yucatan. If you want to see what the end of the world looks like after the fact, Chicxulub is the place to go. While the evidence is now hard to see amid the jungle undergrowth, there are nonetheless many pools called cenotes which were created as a result of the impact many million years ago. Book one of the many Chicxulub vacation rentals so you can see this site.

Yucatan Condos are about more than Falling Rocks

Of course, there is much more to Chicxulub than the crater created by Earth’s cataclysmic past. As a small fishing town, Chicxulub gives you access to a wide variety of fresh seafood. And because the beach is not crowded, this little-known destination gives you access to a relatively open environment for windsurfing and sailing. While the beach is almost always filled with fishing boats, you can spend time between activities in whichever of the Chicxulub villas or condos you choose to rent for your vacation.

Chicxulub Villas and the Scenic Puuc Route

One of the most scenic areas in Chicxulub is the Puuc Route. This region displays evidence of both the earth-shattering Chicxulub cataclysm and of the later ingenuity of the Mayans. The Route is found just south of the main town of Mérida, and features the Puuc ruins and the Loltún caves. These caves were most likely created by the astronomical cataclysm which changed the earth forever, and bear evidence of the awesome power of nature. The Puuc ruins are also a stunning sight, from the huge temples of Uxmal to the amazing artwork found at smaller sites such as Labná and Kabah, all of which are found along the Puuc Route.
