"We enjoyed our stay at Casa la Barenda, good location, air conditioning that worked and everything thing we needed to relax and enjoy. We visited in late July early August and it was hot outside, but we kept it nice and comfortable inside. There were some good maps at the Casa that made it easy for us to get to what we wanted to see. Uxmal and the ruins of the Ruta Puuc are amazing. We visited several nearby museums that were free and air conditioned as well as a day to to the beaches near Progreso . There are good restaurants nearby that can be easily walked to. Only negative was no hot water for the shower and several lights needed to be replace so it was a little dark. Would definitely recommend to friends and would look to return if we get the chance to visit Merida again, we would plan for November to April. The plunge pool was a refreshing relief after walking around town in the heat. The roof deck was another added bonus. The private outdoor space with grill table and ceiling fan was another added plus"

"This was our first time to the Progresso area and first time renting a home in Mexico. Everything was just as we expected from the description of the home the area and the people that we read on the website. House was in excellent condition and very well maintained. Carlos the caretaker was a joy to deal with as was the owner Michelle. We spent a week here and really enjoyed a few days just relaxing on the patio, beach, and next to the pool. We also spent many days exploring the area the local ruins and the cenotes. My entire family agrees that we will definitely come back again."

"Great location, very quiet and secluded beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Fantastic ocean views from the patio and the upstairs bedrooms. The house is huge and we loved the open concept. Wifi worked great, no different than at home.
Towns are only a short drive away if you need supplies or restaurants. Merida is a large city rich in culture and history, and offers all the amenities of home (fast foods, shopping malls, Costco etc.).
If you are feeling adventurous you can explore the ruins which are very close. Roads are in fantastic shape and easy to navigate. The people are extremely friendly ."

"True "ends of the earth" paradise living. The house is well appointed with spacious indoor and outdoor living. One can catch a glimpse of the sea from most any vantage point inside or out. The caretakers were one of highlights; attentive but never intrusive.
The town itself is about as sleepy as you would imagine a Mexican fishing village to be. One of our favorite parts was buying fresh seafood most every day (shrimp, grouper, ocotpus). There a few restaurants, street food, liquor store, and mini Tiendas scattered around the town.
While you can stop in Tizimin for groceries, I'd strongly advise that you do that in Cancun. The store in Tizimin, while large, was pretty abysmally stocked. Also, make sure to fill up on gas before you head out of Cancun.
Susanne was very communicative and quick to respond to all of our questions. She went out of her way to make sure we had all the information we needed for a very successful vacation. We hope to be back one day!"
