"My family stayed for 3 nights at Sac Chich in March, and had a wonderful time. My wife and 4 kids (13,11,9,6) spent a lot of time at the pool, and the owners' dog Eva came over and played one afternoon (which was a huge hit with the kids). The grounds were beautiful, the building was unlike anywhere we stayed before, and it was almost more beautiful at night than during the day. The owners were staying at Casa Sisal next door, and we walked up one morning to check that out as well (very modern, very sleek, a great vacation rental as well). We'd stayed in Merida for a few days before this, so to have all of this open space was a real treat for the kids. We had the staff make breakfasts and dinners for us, and the food was REALLY good, and the "girls" (as Cyndy called them) were very friendly and helpful (it was fun testing our Spanish with them). All in all, we had a great stay, and were very sad leaving our hacienda."

"We have just returned home from a lovely 10 day stay at this beautiful "casa". The home was comfortable, well stocked and ideally situated! Thank you Imad for making our first "private rental" a pleasure! We really appreciated all of Mauricio's help too! Would highly recommend your villa to all of our friends as long as they don't want to be there when we do!!!"

"Since staying in casa de Los mosaicos this past August, I have been dreaming about writing a review. My boyfriend and I were in Merida for a few days, and staying at Casa de Los Mosaicos made this experience unforgettable. First, the location of this house is perfect. It is on a quiet street right in the middle of it all. You have all the cute new restaurants, the legendary old restaurants, the parks, the cathedrals, all in walking distance. We parked the car in the (very spacious) garage and just walked everywhere! Secondly, the beauty of this house. Every room is meticulously decorated, and you really feel like care was taken to make this space beautiful and interesting. In the heat of the summer, we really appreciated the high ceilings (and the A/C- every room has its own controls to allow for better use, which is great). Finally and importantly, the backyard. It was amazing to have a secluded private space with a pool and some lounge chairs to cool off and to relax. It was a lovely place to stay in Merida, can't wait for next time."

"My husband and I just spent a week at Recuperacion. Our first trip to this area of the Yucatan peninsula. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.
Terry (the owner) was so helpful. From our first inquiry about the property she provided valuable information and recommendations. Her insight and advice on everything from rental cars, to resturants, to the "don't miss" attractions was perfect.
The property has a fantastic local manager. Joan drove us around Chelem to show us the grocery stores, reaturants, where to buy the freshest fruits and vegetables, and of course the night life.
This is a "Lonely Planet," off the beaten path kind of place. The beautiful house is situated on the Gulf of Mexico in a small fishing village on the Yucatan peninsula. There is a fairly large number of ex pats in the area so if you don't speak Spanish (my husband and I don't speak a word) there are plenty of people to help translate. The local inhabitants are so friendly and helpful (to the point of drawing pictures for us if necessary ).
Chelem is not a resort town. Is a small fishing village filled with wonderful people. We drove all over the peninsula. We walked the beach and the village at night. Everyone we met was incredibly helpful. Chelem felt as safe as home.
So if you want to disengage from the rat race make this your next vacation. You won't regret it."
